Excellent Excellent EXCELLENT! Yours truly Nasty Nathanial here. I am sure all of my fellow Yelpers can already tell how this review is going to go. I mean I didn't even kick it off with my traditional "howdy folks." But seriously, this is the best ice cream that I've ever had in my whole life and I'm going to tell you all why. So strap on your safety belts and let's drive right into it. I recently tried Nite Creamery's ice cream for the first time the other night. But this isn't the first time I've ever been here. I visited this location a few months back when myself, and fellow activist Matthew The King, came here to conduct a First Amendment Audit. But ever since then I've been curious about this place. There was something about Nite Creamery that set it apart from the other businesses in the area. Could it be that mysterious fog like substance that creeps over the counter? Well, there's a reason for that and I will explain that in a bit. But regardless of the reason, I just had to return and try their ice cream. Boy oh boy am I glad I did. So I ended up coming to Nite Creamery on a Wednesday evening and I am glad that I chose a week night for my first visit because this place can get pretty packed on the weekend. But I was able to walk right up to the counter where I was greeted by two friendly employees, a dark haired girl and a chubby Filipino guy. Both of them had smiles on their faces and seemed happy to be. For all I know maybe they hate their job. But if they do, they're doing a pretty good job hiding it. Now the next step was to place an order. I bet you didn't see that coming. But their ordering system is a little bit different than most places. One of the employees explained to me that how it works is you place your order on a touch screen pad and then pay with whatever payment method you're using. This was kind of nice as I felt less pressured without having someone standing over me while I try to decide what I want. But I still kind of miss the good ol' days of a real human being taking your order. But hey. This is 2026, not 1996. Anyways, I ended up going with this ice cream called the Salted Carmel Crumb. One of the things that first caught my attention was the fact that they place a pretzel on top of the scoop of ice cream. Yes I'm serious. A pretzel on ice cream. I bet you never heard of that before. Well, that is unless you have been to Nite Creamery before. Enough about how the ice cream looks. Let's talk about how it tasted. This ice cream is PHONOMENAL! It truly is better than s**. They don't make ice cream in the traditional way like they do at most ice cream parlors. At Nite Creamery they mix the ingredients and then freeze it right on the spot. That's where the mysterious fog comes from. But yeah that's what they do at Nite Creamery and I'm glad they do it that way. The reason being is you get a richer creamier ice cream that is full of flavor and tastes oh soooooooo good. I liked it so much that when I was finished, I walked back in and ordered another one. Only this time I went with the All Niter. That was phenomenal as well. If you've made it through this entire review I will assume that you get it that I love Nite Creamery. I really do love this place and I hope they'll continue to remain in the community for year's to come. So with that being said, I think I will go ahead and sign off for now. If you live on the Central Coast and want to try some ice cream that is better than s**, I highly encourage you to head over to Nite Creamery. You won't be disappointed. The icecream is still really good but wow has the atmosphere and service has changed. They used to have the puff cone now it's a standard cone that's soft, no crunch. It's self order on an iPad instead of someone taking an order and they no longer accept cash. You used to be able to enjoy indoor and outdoor seating, they had plants, and a nice feel. Now everything is black, painted over the old logos which you can still see, no seating and just gives a run down no one cares kind of vibe. Really such a shame to see if go down hill like that. read more

The ice cream is amazing! I tried the Flintstones flavor which is vanilla blended with fruity pebbles. They literally make the ice cream right in the front, and the mixers mixed with the nitrogen creates a cool fog! The only thing they can improve is the seating area. It is really only set up for to go orders, but I'd still highly recommend this place, if you're visiting Santa Maria. read more

I recently visited nite creamery for their seasonal flavor & if you like cookie butter, get this. The ice cream is really creamy and has a sweet, spiced cookie flavor, and the crumble on top is so delicious. Every bite had the perfect mix of smooth and crunchy. This was easily one of the best ice cream flavors I've had in a while. read more

I absolutely love Nite Creamery!!! It's definitely the best ice cream spot in Santa Maria. My personal favorite flavor is The Flintstones with the extra Nite Puff. If you love Fruity Pebbles cereal you will love this flavor of ice cream, since not only do they top it with Fruity Pebbles, but they actually mix it into the ice cream itself. I really like the Nite Puffs as well. They are nice and doughy and I prefer them over a cone. With how cold Santa Maria is tonight, I was shocked to see how many people that were there. Even though they were busy, there was still plenty of parking and seating inside. You don't interact with the staff much since you order from a screen and they call your name when your order is ready,but it is super cool watching them make the ice cream with the "smoke" looking substance swirling around the mixing bowls from all the Nitrogen. read more

I love that nitro ice cream is still around, esp in SM! It's honestly the most underrated ice cream for any day of the year. It stays cold, flavor is strong, and chewable. I always go with the cereal milk because captain crunch on ice cream is always SO good, but last time a custom of strawberry ice cream with corn flakes on top. It would be amazing to go half and half (2 scoops is a lot of ice cream) if nitro wasn't so hard to make! But nitro is one of my faves whenever I drive thru SM! read more

Came here with my daughter to grab a couple of scoops. They have a quite an impressive setup and the prices I found to be very fair for this style of ice cream. The customer service was wonderful and everyone was really friendly. My wife got a chocolate ice cream and I got a sweet cream Central Coast ice cream it was made right in front of you. I happened to discover Nite Creamery on a whim whilst making a stop at the nearby Target. I had been in town for jury duty and figured a sweet treat couldn't hurt after my long day. I came into the Creamery and looked at the menu to decide what I wanted. I ended up opting for the Roasted Malone. I sat down to eat it and it was sooo good. The ice cream was creamy, the marshmallow toasty, and the graham cracker crumbs complimented it well. I wanted to share the fun and decided to get a strawberry ice cream to go for my mom. Unfortunately, they don't have to go lids so I plopped another cup on top of the ice cream and just hoped it would hold up until I got home! I gave the ice cream to my mom as soon as I could and she dug right in. She said it was really good and gave me a bite. Again, very creamy and not too sweet! Do yourself a favor and stop by this joint for some delicious ice cream. The ice cream is flavorful, rich, delicious without relying on a million gimmicks like other ice cream establishments. The one star reviews are completely baseless and unfair. For contacts, I come from a number of cities where there is intense competition in the nitro ice cream space. You will not survive if your ice cream isn't up to par. I believe I got the ice cream with the pretzels and was blown away by how rich the flavor was. Also ignore the reviews that complain about the price. I think one of the challenges this establishment has is its location is in a city that's known for being... Budget conscious to put it politely. Santa Maria has kind of an island mentality and I really don't think people get out there that much. The prices here are fair for this type of product. If it's not much of an issue for you, you probably shouldn't be eating out and all. Go grab yourself a bucket of Dreyers ice cream at the grocery store instead. Nitro ice cream is much richer and creamier because it's frozen so quickly, it doesn't leave any time for little ice crystals to take up space in the ice cream. It is also made fresh. If only you guys could see the ingredients other ice cream establishment shove into their batters. A lot of it is preservatives, and tons of sugar to hide the flavor of the preservatives. Cool ice cream experience for my toddlers! The ice cream itself is average imho. Banana was the best of the 3 we tried. However, you pay for the experience which is unique. That said, be prepared to wait around 15 mins for your ice cream after ordering even during slow times bc they make each order and each come/waffle to order. Late night ice cream? Yes please. Nite creamery def hold up to it's name. The ice cream was so creamy and tasty! It opens until 10pm which is nice because everything closes so early in Santa Maria. You order through the kiosks and they make the ice cream fresh in front of you. The line goes by pretty quick so there isn't much of a wait! Unbiased first timers! - We walked into a decently clean store, we found the menu and made our choice. Once we headed to the register the person behind the register ( had there hands in there pocket ) said " if it's card pay at the kiosk". - the kiosk had options for expensive tips. Hilarious you didn't speak a word to me but asked for a tip. Interesting anyway, - 2 scoops of ice cream was $15. You could buy a gallon of ice cream for such a price. - quality was great though! Creamy as advertised. Just wouldn't be my first choice :). The scoops where small- toppings where all extra charge but hey- gotta stay above water some way. - overall a ok experience! They are on the pricey side, however it's a family owned store so it is nice to know your moneys going back into the pockets of our community. read more

Some of the freshest ice cream I've ever tasted! I love how it's literally handmade right in front of you. Even the waffle cone and waffle puffs were warm in their cup with the ice cream, it was just so delicious. Tried the thicc mint with nite cone and to my surprise the ice cream had little tiny leaf mints but the right amount that you aren't overwhelmed. Overall good. The only thing I would wish is if they wiped down the benches where people are sitting, it was sticky which is a turn off. If you like peanut butter and Nutella, you have to try P.B. Nutella, Nutella Ice Cream with chocolate and peanut butter drizzle. Play on chocolate peanut butter but the Nutella elevates it. Flavors shine without it being too sweet. I had the Thicc Mint as well, mint ice cream with cookies n cream and rice krispy. It was ok for me. Mint was light, but the cookies n cream wasn't present enough and the rice krispy was soggy. Probably because they mixed liquid nitrogen with the rice krispy, so it was chewy in a stale kind of way. Overall very subtle shy flavors. If it was mixed in as a topping or with bits of Rice Krispy Treats, it would've given it more texture or flavor, which would've been a game changer. Clean place, friendly staff, and close to a "Raising Cane's". Definitely a must try for liquid nitrogen ice cream, made to order, with fun flavors to choose from. Puff cone: I suggest the chocolate chip puff. It adds sweetness to it. Otherwise, it tastes like a pancake with no syrup, and I like my pancakes drenched in syrup. Enough said. read more

I decided to stop by Nite creamery for some ice cream tonight. At first I couldn't really find where the actual store location wise and had to use Google maps to slowly find where in the plaza the store is actually located. I didn't realize it would be in the back corner of the target plaza. I got there at 8 o'clock and none of the lights in that corner of the plaza but it did eventually turn on closer to about 8:20 or so but that's not the store's problem. Otherwise, it was kind of dark and gave me a vibe of things being deserted. The store itself is pretty tiny. When you first walk in on the left-hand side on the ground there are arrows directing the flow of traffic. And that's where you first place your order at the register. There's only a handful of tables in the actual store itself so you probably won't be able to get a table unless you're lucky. There isn't much of a spectacle here when they are making your ice cream with liquid nitrogen. The team members are very low key about it. It should be fun when there's a lot of liquid nitrogen gas coming out from the mixers. For my ice cream selection today I went with the strawberry creme with the waffle. The Waffle itself is like the Hong Kong style egg waffle mold which they fold into a cone shape and they place the ice cream on top. What added a nice touch was that waffle was nice and hot when they handed me the ice cream cone so it gave it a good contrast of temperatures and textures. Overall, it was a good ice cream experience. They do have a sticker saying that they charge a 35 cent flat rate service charge when you decide to use your credit card to pay. I suppose it's better than forcing a minimum spend for credit card use. I tend to have mixed feelings about businesses passing on the merchant fees to their customers but that's a discussion for somewhere else. It's not necessarily about a few cents but more so the principle of the matter. read more

I came in today for the first time after visiting another ice cream shop, it was my wife's birthday and I felt like I rushed her with the other shop. So this shop has been here for a couple of years, we always walk by it because a few doors down is our dogs vet and most times the shop was closed due to pandemic and their hours were erratic but now I think they have set hours. When I first walked in I think I spoke to either the manager or owner and asked if we could bring our dog in, he said yes then asked if he was a service dog, I said no and he said go ahead and bring him in. I had no idea what I was going to buy but I certainly wanted a waffle cone. I asked the associate what was their specialty and what I should buy and he went ahead and described the whole the whole details on how the ice cream is made fresh by infusing liquid nitrogen, I won't describe everything but go to their website and it will explain it better. I was just happy he suggested what to buy and what waffle cone to get, and he did the same for my wife. Bottom line I got the strawberry cheesecake and chocolate chip waffle and my wife got the coffee ice cream with regular waffle cone. This was a good experience, great tasting ice cream and that chocolate waffle was great! Parking and drive was great for me, I live in the area and know how to get out of there by using short cuts during rush hour. If you want to try something new, look for Night Creamery. read more

Writing this review after eating my Mint Mojito ice cream in an actual waffle made fresh and still warm when I got it. The ice cream was amazing. It tasted fresh if that makes any sense. The mint did not taste artificial like it does in many mint flavored ice cream. The waffle wash made to order, and tasted amazing. The little circular pillow shapes on the waffle made it easy pop off a pice and dip it in the ice cream. The flavor of the waffle was slightly sweet and a perfect compliment to the ice cream. The only thing I would change is the wrapper they put it in, to serve. I think it looks great and the concept is nice, but when the ice cream starts to melt a bit from the warm waffle it did start to drip out the bottom.... onto my shirt. lol Over all awesome experience, especially being opening day and having a line out the door. Have never been there before. We didn't know we had to order our items on the kiosk. No one offered to help.
