This is surely one of Chicago's best-kept dining and entertainment secrets (it's in a rather…read moreobscure location). It's basically a cabaret - a combination of fine dining and interactive Cirque Du Soleil-style entertainment in an intimate setting. The elaborate décor will blow your mind. It's absolutely gorgeous. The quality of the food far surpassed typical dinner theatre fare. Each of the four courses was artfully plated, served at the proper temperature, and downright delicious. The goat cheese bell pepper scones app was more of an amuse bouche than a true course and no other bread was served (unless you order Parkerhouse rolls, an à la carte add-on that costs $16. Indeed!). After that, though, portions were ample. The bourbon peached glazed salmon entrée, plated with inventive side dishes, was perfection. Other à la carte dishes and entrée upgrades are available but no one in our party felt the need to order those. The service was impeccable. Variety acts were interspersed between courses - singers, dancers, a juggler, a comedian, an aerialist, and more. There was a lot of talent but it was comic actor Joe who stole the show, portraying several roles. Totally enjoyable and well worth the ticket price.

Classy yet sexy. Food was great as well, drinks flowing and we also got a Birthday dessert for one of the gals in our group. Absolutely worth the price, this is definitely one for the memories.

I already had a restaurant reserved, and one of the great things about this company is that you get to choose your own location--you're not stuck with a preset venue. They arrived early to get everything set up and were totally ready when it was time for the big surprise with our family and friends. After my wife nearly fainted (LOL), the party kicked off right away. All the characters are played by people you choose, which made for a ton of participation--and luckily, my friends and family are all a little nuts, so they totally went for it. The 1920s theme was super fun, and the folks I picked to be the "victims" really hammed it up. The company provided scripts for the key players and gave great direction to keep things moving. It never felt awkward or confusing--they were right there to guide things along, so no one felt lost. It was absolutely hilarious watching my friends and family try their hand at acting. I'll 100% be reaching out to this company again if the chance comes up. You should too!!

Let's get the logistics out of the way. Plenty of parking. Entrance is in the back (more on that). Dress is casual, but dressing up like 1920's gangsters would add to the fun. This place is great for groups or large families. Plan on spending about 3 hours for dinner and the show. Recommendation: Get there a little before 6:00 and line up at the back door (that is where the entrance is). At 6:00, use the big, brass knocker and knock on the door. Then, when Gloves comes to the door, whisper "I am here to make a deposit." "Gloves" is super fun, so play this up. No other spoilers so you can enjoy the show. Food. We had the steak, and it was delish! Perfectly done at medium rare and full of flavor. Loved the mixed vegetables and baked potato, too. The rolls and salad were average. Cocktails. Great selection of fun, themed cocktails. Look for "Al's Favorite" on the chalk board at the bar and on the top of the cocktail menu. All four drinks we had were great. Mugsy makes some good giggle juice. Service. EXCELLENT. The team is talented, and they work hard to serve you while putting on the show. They stayed in character the whole time, and the jokes were FANtastic! Finally. RELAX and ENJOY the show. I have not smiled and laughed that much since the Nate Betgatze show at Bridgestone at Christmas. Vito and his team are simply FABULOUS and FUN! This gets a MUST DO if in the Chicago area. Definitely a Siskel and Ebert "Two Thumbs Up." Now, make your reservation and get "the rest of the story" at Vito's Vault.

I bought tickets to the 1:30 pm show on Mother's Day. Tickets were $76.95 each, but I was able to get 15% off directly from their website for Mother's Day so I actually paid $65.41 each. I also decided to upgrade to their Queen's package which is an additional $30 per ticket. So overall, I paid around $190 for my mother and I. The doors open at noon- which is around the time we got there. For check in- this is where you are assigned a knight to root for. We got the black and white knight. We also got our VIP lanyards and our package came with taking 2 photos! They didn't open the doors to the arena until approximately 1:00 pm. They have an area just outside of the arena where you can order drinks from the bar, buy souvenirs, watch the horses eat, etc. Once the arena opened we were seated in table number 3 (which is actually the first row). For food we had a tomato basil soup, garlic bread, a very large chicken, and corn on the Cobb. With the Queen package you also get a slice of cake. The food surpassed my expectations, it was really really really good! Everything was. There was not one mediocre dish on my plate- everything was tasty and I wasn't expecting that. My piece of chicken was humongous. The whole meal was super filling. Side-note: we had to eat everything with our hands, because this is medieval times! So, there will be no silverware for you. And of course, my knight won! So that was a plus. Overall, this is a great event for all ages. Me and my party had tons of fun, and we're all grown. So, I can only imagine how much fun this is for children! Plus we left with so much stuff. I took home a crown, a glass (I got to keep from ordering from the bar), I took home my lanyard, my little flag I was waving around, and I took home our pictures that was included in the package. So, you definitely do not leave empty handed. I really enjoyed this experience! I thought it was super fun!

Recently, I came across an ad for it on social media, and that's when we finally realized what it actually was. We bought tickets and decided to go. My 4-year-old son was so excited about the idea, which, as a mom, was the most important thing to me! Saying that I was impressed would be an understatement. Everything is designed in a unique medieval style and looks absolutely amazing. All of the staff are dressed in character as well, which really adds to the atmosphere. The show itself was exciting and entertaining. Eating dinner without utensils was also a fun experience because it really brings you closer to the spirit of that time period. Our waitress was wonderful and completely committed to her role! What made me laugh the most was my son crying when "our" blue knight lost the battle. He thought it was all real and cried so hard I told him that the ambulance came, the knight was treated, and now he's okay That immediately cheered him up. The knight also threw flowers into the audience -- I caught one, and my son was unbelievably proud. He said, "The knight threw a flower to my mommy!" Such a wonderful evening! Since we can have "regular" dinners anytime, I think most people can treat themselves once in a while to an experience like this and step out of their everyday routine.

In the end, we had a blast but there was a rough start. The bad: It's a truly cash cash bar - no cards accepted. There was an ATM down the hallway, though it had kind of wild fees ($7 if I'm remembering correctly) - thankfully, my bank refunds that kind of fee, but if yours doesn't, it's a steep fee to pay to get any drink that isn't water or coffee - even a can of soda (coke brands only). From what I heard from my table mates, cocktails were strong. The beginning of the experience was rough - there were passed appetizers brought to the tables, and each person was allowed to get one of each (a mini pillsbury biscuit, maybe the size of a quarter and a freezer section meatball on a toothpick). Quite frankly, I wouldn't have been AS disappointed with the food if they didn't try to sell this as the "first course" and they just skipped this entirely. The good: this was a unique experience and a lot of fun once the show actually started. Most of my "the bad" pertained to the first 30 minutes at most. From there, our table of strangers ended up having a blast together and enjoyed throwing out theories. We didn't quite solve the mystery, but figured out a good number of pieces to it which was fun!

While the manager, Phil, was very kind and understanding, even comping me a free screening of a film last week, the fact is that three weeks and no refund is unacceptable. Yet what's really gotten my goat is the Alamo's sudden change in food ordering policy, by which orders are now processed via mobile app during the screening, which defeats the whole point of the Alamo's "no phones" policy and is clearly just a way for the company to avoid employing food workers. Can't support that. Honestly, just go to the Davis. Beautiful location, better value, and if the theater cancels your screening they will actually refund your money.

The moms had the best time, whether they were going up to dance themselves, watching the acts, or joining in when basically the whole restaurant gathered for a massive group dance during the "halftime" show. We ordered the large food platters for our table of 7, and it was more than enough food. Everything was delicious Mediterranean cuisine--great hummus, baba ghanoush dips, lamb, chicken, and rice. The moms also loved their flashy non-alcoholic drinks! My only minor complaint is that I wish it had been just a little bit more packed to give the giant space a fuller vibe, but we still had an amazing, memorable night.
