Great place for Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteaks and panzorottis! Friendly staff and great food!

You know how you always wonder about a certain thing because it sounds gross but people claim that it's good? This is me with Pork Roll or Taylor Ham, depending on where you're from. I had the good luck to be in Pork Roll land and everyone suggested Nixons. This is a general store with a ton of cool niche items for purchase but at the back of the store you will find a very authentic deli. I, of course ordered the pork roll sandie with yellow mustard (which apparently is a must as I was advised). They weren't wrong! The meat is salty and fatty so the mustard cut the fattiness and saltiness perfectly. I think I'd pass on the cheese next time but that was my only qualm. It is delicious. I tried birch beer for the first time and it was like a creamy root beer, yum. I also got a fresh garlic pickle from a huge barrel and it was the best pickle I've ever had. I ate maybe half and accidentally left it in the car overnight and it went bad. I'm still sad about that. 10/10 highly recommend this place. read more

I've been a customer of Nixon's for over 20 years. I hadn't been in a year because of Covid. Stopped in today and was heartbroken. This cute, local deli & candy store now has loads of drug paraphernalia, hookahs and CBD nonsense. It's less than a mile from 3 schools. Not what this rural community is about. Used to be a great place. Manager apparently doesn't answer any questions - or he may be a mute....not sure. Asked simple questions and got ignored completely. I was very polite about it. So can't assume anything else. Deli used to be great under old owners - nothing like that any more. Won't go back again. read more

This place changed owners and it's not what it used to be. I don't care about who bought it, only that they changed it from a country store with old time sodas and candies, to a store stocked with vape supplies and weed paraphernalia. We go to Waller's on route 206 in Tabernacle for our hoagies and cheese steaks. read more

This visit was awesome!! We got a chicken cheese steak with onions and mushrooms, a regular cheese steak with bacon, onions and mushrooms. Both were awesome!! I couldn't eat half of it because their was so much meat, which is a good thing!! read more

Nixon's is a great, reliable neighborhood place. It's a quaint little shop with tons of food options, which are all prepared excellently. I have never had a meal here I didn't enjoy. On my most recent trip, I had a grilled cheese sandwich and French fries. It seems hard to mess up, but I have definitely had the same meal at other places and been less than thrilled. The staff is always friendly and kind. This is a great local business that everyone in the area should support! There is something for everyone here. read more

Kinda weird walking in there and knowing it used to be filled with nostalgic candies and local knick-knacks that gave the place a homey feeling. And now they are selling glass pieces and water pipes. Wow, why have I waited so long to try this place?!?! After a long morning hike on Atsion trail, we were starving so we unbuckled our belts and made extra room for an Italian Hoagie. A convenient touchscreen order in the back, with an option to build a custom sandwich. We just went with the classic Italian hoagie and it was great! A 12 inch was a perfect split for two. My only complaint is that the tomatoes were just placed on top, but we just scooped out some lettuce. The store has some of the coolest selection of sodas around. I never really drink soda, but had to try the Australian Ginger Beer. Amazing! Great deserts at the counter and plenty of extra treats/snacks to add with your meal. If your in town, this place is a must try! We will certainly be back again! read more

We happened to be in the area to hike Apple Pie a Hill and decided to try this place out based on Yelp's recommendations. The shop had a small seating area and a large selection of snacks, drinks and of course sandwiches. The variety of snacks offered was incredible, most of them individually packaged by the shop by weight so the snacks were a bit to pricey. They offered snacks like chocolate covered Swedish fish, toffee covered cashews, and salted Carmel pretzels. They had a large variety of deli sandwiches from chicken salad to Philly cheese steaks. The ordering system was via a touch screen the only downside was that you had no idea what the price was until after you clicked it so we're were constantly deleting things after we saw an extra charge (ex. Gluten free roll extra $2, hot peppers $0.50) it would have been a lot more convenient to know the charge prior to selection. read more

You claim customer satisfaction is your number one concern but everyone's complaining and you're refusing to fix what people are complaining about. I'm honestly very sad writing this review because I used to LOVE this place. A few months back they changed owners and the new owners are NOT friendly from what I have witnessed at all. They seem to only care about the business, not the customers or their satisfaction. They have downgraded in quality of food on their menu. I have not gone here in a while and will not go here again. Me no likey since old owners left I ask the Indian lady a question 5 times at if they have something and then she says yes they do but then reviewing the order over she says they don't she is so confusing with that and she does it all the time. She doesn't listen to what you say and even interrupts you all the time I can't even get a full sentence out without her interrupting me. The food has gone down hill and they say they deliver but have soo many rules for delivery like they don't deliver before 12 and you have to pay at LEAST $20 dollars for a meal for them to deliver. It's a little quiet town with about 5 buildings which sum up downtown Tabernacle, but wow do they have a great deli, it's a small place that packs a punch. The local town folk seem to go there all the time too. It always has 4-5 people in it at all times of the day. Also the shop's been there since the 1800's, makes it a little historical tour too. Fantastic Sandwiches and the staff are friendly. They give you these coupons whenever you order a sandwich, get 15 of them and you get 5 dollars off for one sandwich. Also, they've been voted Burlington Counties best place to get sandwiches and hoagies. They are also known for overstuffing their sandwiches. Definitely would recommend people getting a sandwich and if you love roasted pork, get the roasted pork with provolone cheese and sweet/hot peppers. If you think a 6" or 12" long sub/hoagie is not enough to fill you up, you can grab a side from the refrigerator in the front or the back, ranging from cold redskin potato salad to some pasta salad. OMG!! Wow! So I love cheesesteaks and have had just about every well known and even not so well known cheesesteak spot in south Jersey and philly area. I'm talking Steve's, Johns, Jim's, ishkibibbles, chinks, Tony Luke's, pats, Genos, geatonos, chicks deli, etc.... My favorite cheesesteak is Johns in south Philly, but let me tell you something; Nixon's is damn good!!! It actually reminds me of a Johns cheesesteak! I freaking love this place! Their cheesesteak is huge and so delicious! I've also tried their buffalo chicken cheesesteak and wow it was delicious! Everything I've tried here has been really really great! I moved to Medford a little over a year ago and someone recommended Nixon's to me and man I'm so glad I gave them a try. I'm mad at myself for not knowing about this place sooner in my life - where have u been??? Besides from the cheesesteaks, the whole store is really cool. They sell a ton of local stuff such as, root beer and hot sauces. They have tons of cool candy for the kids and a nice little seating area to eat in if you wish. It had been a while since I was in here. I used to frequent this place, but a change in work schedule has me way from the area. I don't know if tonight was a fluke. I sure hope not. I recall sandwiches here being good, but what I had tonight was GREAT. Italian sub, stuffed with meat, and delicious toppings. Buffalo chicken tender sub for my son was also fantastic. Basically, both subs were huge and really well put together. and I love the new addition with tables. Really nice work--I really hope that what I had tonight was an effort to kick up the food to the highest level. Its always been good. but this is great. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

I thought the Italian hoagie I got the first time was the best, but the steak sandwich I just inhaled is closing in and tying for my favorite Nixon's sandwich. The employees are so warm and friendly. They have a huge selection of products featuring local merchants. And while I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the new owners, I hear they are the nicest people ever. There are much better deli's around, I would skip this one. I ordered the Jaclyn's Grilled Roma panini, after waiting 40 minutes they finally called my number. It shouldn't take 40 minutes to make a panini in a place that wasn't even busy. They should have waitress service just because of how SLOW they are at making sandwiches, but anyway, sat down and took a bite, it was not very good at all, very overpowering with cheese and not much else. Workers were not friendly either. No plastic forks were out and there was no soap in the bathroom, the dispenser was empty, gross! I recommend not going here and getting a sandwich at one of the better deli's in the area. read more

Nixon's used to be an iconic location when the Mcginty's owned it, but these new owners have run it into the ground. They now sell marijuana pipes and bongs which my 6 year old asked what they were and at 6:55pm they told me the kitchen was closed for the night, while the cashiers who seemed to be the owners were hitting on some girl who looked to be in HS. It used to be packed and now empty and it's obvious why. It lost its small town charm and became just like any other convenience store. My family and I will never go back. Everyone I talk to has said the same. It's pathetic now. read more

I went in today to purchase a drink. 3 people, 1 was the owner simply ignored me. 1 employee was squeezing some orange goop of some sort into cups which looked awful right at the counter. After waiting a while I left. It would of been nice to at least of been acknowledged that I was standing there. The food here definitely deserves 5 stars- awesome quality. I've never had a bad sandwich/ meal from here. However, I'm reviewing with 3 starts overall because the service is horrible and the wait times for food is absolutely ridiculous. Every time I go, I have waited almost an extra 30 minutes longer than the original time. My friend and I stopped in after a visit to the local salvage yard. We were so glad we stopped in today. Right of the bat I loved the older style general store with older candies and wacky sodas to drink. We both agreed that our hoagies were the best we had ever had. EVER! On the way out I asked if they have ice cream and they do make sundaes to order just like the sandwiches. I will be going back with my wife and kids soon...... read more
