This place has no respect for customers' dietary restrictions. I ordered broccoli-cheddar soup after being told it was not chicken-based (not made with chicken stock/broth). And lo and behold, tiny white and tan fibrous bits of chicken in my soup. They clearly cared more about securing a sale than about transparency about their ingredients. I've been a vegetarian for years and have always been careful, asking in advance if dishes, despite not having any meat in their name, are in fact vegetarian. After all, broccoli-cheddar soup is not traditionally vegetarian, but, for example, the broccoli-cheddar soup at Rastelli's in Marlton is, and they clearly show the ingredients at their soup bar. I understand the cashier at Dad's Deli being unsure, but being told directly by the cooking staff, rather nonchalantly, I may add, is downright egregious. Disappointed by how this establishment has been operating since its new ownership. If you're a vegetarian or know anyone with dietary restrictions, look elsewhere in Marlton for options. I'm staying in a hotel around the corner and looking for something quick and easy to enjoy in my room. Dad's Deli meets that! I ordered a breakfast sandwich with pork roll and coffee. It was fresh made and delivered quickly but wasn't sloppy. It came via Door Dash directly and from a super friendly dasher who handed it to me. The breakfast sandwich and coffee both came hot. Came back for lunch and ordered the Cranberry Orange Chicken Salad, and Corned Beef Reuben Wrap off of the weekly specials. The salad was huge and will also be my dinner. They are not shy on the toppings such as chicken and juicy mandarin oranges. Flavor itself was okay. We weren't a big fan of the corned beef Reuben wrap. Lacked sauerkraut, cheese and did not have a bold flavor at all. I am definitely still returning, but I do not plan on reordering the 2 dishes mentioned above. Wanted to try the TRIPLE burger at Dads Deli in Mount Laurel. They listed on their website 3 PATTIES, sounds good. What they gave me besides attitude was a missing pattie. I went back in to inquire and they said it's only supposed to have 2 patties according to the menu inside. When I showed them the menu on their own website they were unapologetic and unresponsive to making it right. Fine. I told him I would have not purchase it had I known it was only 2 patties which they could have informed me since they had not fixed their website which was known to them. When I phoned in the order perhaps mention it since I can't see a menu that's inside of your DAMN restaurant. Rude and uncaring is what I got instead of the listed 3rd pattie. Finally decided to give Dad's deli a try after hearing nothing but great things about their sandwiches. Heading over to the Phillies game today and wanted subs to bring into the stadium. Decided on regular sized Italian and Turkey subs. Quality subs for very reasonable prices. Hard working and friendly staff with constant customers in and out. I ordered in the restaurant and it was ready quickly. They do have a notice on the counter that they add 3.5% to credit card transactions (which imo is fair and honorable they give notice). The owner may just be the nicest and most personable person I've ever met. He spoke to me like we've been friends for years even though I was a first time customer. Friendly service. I ordered a regular size "Gertie" For $14 it could easily feed two people. My reason for a "2" is that the meat in it had a smell that lead me to believe that it was either old or expired. It just smelled unappetizing And NOT like corned beef and Pastrami. I should have brought it back, but I brought it to Ocean City. Not a good experience. My thought process is that if they are serving expired meats on a Gertie, what else are they doing? When I say that this is probably the absolute best deli for lunch that I've been to, I'm not exaggerating. Anything you want from breakfast sandwiches to lunch sandwiches can and will be made... Don't see it on the menu, just ask for it and it'll be made. The portions are huge and made with quality ingredients. A combo that's rare these days. Change of ownership, second time going since then... and the change showed. Last time was so-so, this time made me say it's the final time. Just one person was waiting in there, sitting on a stool next to door. Not sure if customer or part of the establishment. I ordered a bacon-egg-cheese on roll. Cook took pre-cooked eggs out of container, placed on grill. Did same with pre-cooked bacon. During this time, a small dog ran out from the back, and to the guy on stool. Food came off grill, placed on bun, then cheese placed on top. I left with it, and my suspicions confirmed. Food was barely warm. Cheese never even close to melting. We ordered the following Cuban Sandwich () We enjoyed this for the most part. The pickle is a nice touch and really added a lot to the meat. If you really enjoy ham, this is a great bet. The pickles were weirdly uneven so like one half of the sandwich got way more than the other. 4 stars family rating South Philly Chick () Our chicken was really dry but everything else was pretty good. Mandarin Chicken Wrap () The sauce drenched through the wrap and made it kind of difficult to hold. The chicken was even more dry than the South Philly Chick. Went in and ordered an Italian hoagie and an order of onion rings. They lose one star right off the bat for asking for a tip when paying. That annoys me when going to a counter to order food. I've worked in the food business since 1986 and completely disagree with this practice. Took about 10 minutes to make. Not bad and they even offered me a bag of chips and a soda for waiting. That was nice. So the food. Onion rings were pretty bad. Obviously frozen but many are but the onion inside was mush, couldn't taste the onion. It was more of eating a mushy grease pocket. I ordered the South Philly chicken cheesesteak made with beef. It came with Sautéed Peppers, Onions, Spinach and Provolone Cheese. I like this sandwich as a whole. I was intrigued by the cheese. The cheese slices were either laided on the roll or on top of everything while on the grill because cheese kind of wrapped itself around everything. It made for an interesting cheese experience. What a racist and rude deli. We ordered a 14-hoagie platter for pickup for a family event, yet only received 11 hoagies. My MIL called the manager to figure out what happened. The manager-on-duty wouldn't even let her speak, made fun of whatever she did manage to say because of her accent, and told her "be grateful you got 12 because I ran out of bread". 12? Ran out of bread?? When you order a 14-sandwich platter, you expect 14 sandwiches because it's not rocket science. Breakfast sandwiches from Dad's Deli and Catering were like a big hug from MY Dad! Where do they find such large Kaiser rolls? They're giant! And how wonderful of them to fill their sandwiches to the gills. Our breakfast sandwiches were easily 5 pounds each and it took me over 30 minutes to eat mine. It held me over until almost dinnertime! The best part for me was that no one looked at me crooked when I ordered Taylor Ham on my egg sandwich. Rumor has it that the owner hails from North Jersey, hence their acceptance of my "unacceptable" verbiage here in South Jersey. It's Taylor Ham, dammit! Dad's is off the beaten path and is located directly behind Rita's. The parking lot is relatively small, and the restaurant is take-out only.
