They were poking and probing for 3 hours to help me out. I know they weren't down there fooling around because I was called down into the basement to see and learn about all the tests they were doing and the results of each. Everything was explained by Ted, the senior technician. He also showed me other boiler items to watch out for and even provided me with a 3rd-party cleaner that I might consider buying to keep the system running well. Their charge for 3 hours' work was reasonable! I've used TGM Services for electrical and A/C work, too, and it's fixed or enhanced, and it always works going forward. I am grateful for these 2 guys. The three installation guys (Michael, Jamie and Darrell) were great! They cleaned the work area and left and everything nicer than it was before the work began. I was really impressed with the quality of their work and the professionalism of the guys installing the system (and they are very likeable personable guys too!) I had 3 other quotes from other companies. Like one review here said, H&I weren't the lowest quote and they weren't the highest quote I received, they were right about in the middle. In the end, I went with them because: 1. I already do business with them for my oil delivery so I already know they are super nice and helpful. 2. They didn't have a pushy salesman that pushed me to close the deal the same day as the quote like another company I had give me a quote did. 3. They were honest (at least I believe they were haha). There was another sales guy from another company that told me BS and I knew it was BS when he told me because in my research I found things that contradicted what he told me (and other techs I spoke to said he was incorrect.). I felt like all the other companies wanted was to close the deal. 4. Whitney and Wyane were there to answer all my questions and believe me, I had a lot. Whitney was extremely responsive to every one of my emails. 5. Overall I just felt more confident in them than the other companies that came to give me a quote. I felt the other companies with salesmen just wanted to close the deal and would tell you whatever just to close it. 6. I liked when they gave me a quote it was one of their techs that took all the information, again, not a salesman. I never felt any pressure with them as I felt with other companies that gave me a quote. 7. They are just really nice to deal with. Overall I am extremely happy we decided to go with Hart and Iliff over the other companies! The AC part of the system has been working great! It's a great improvement over my old AC. I'm looking forward to seeing how the system performs in the winter, especially with the heat pump.

However, the repair didn't last more than a few days before the same problem came back. When I contacted them again, it took several calls before anyone followed up. The technician eventually returned but seemed rushed and didn't fully explain what was wrong. I ended up paying more than I expected for a temporary fix. The staff was polite, but the overall service felt inconsistent. I really wanted to give them a chance, but the results were disappointing. I'd rate them 2 stars for effort, but not for reliability.

They are experienced professionals who take care of everything from start to finish. After installing the system, they even cleaned the apartment. Jimmy also went above and beyond to take care of our permits and I am grateful for all his help. In the beginning, when I was shopping for a contractor, I decided to choose them because they gave us an excellent price and explained everything very clearly. The other contractors charge extra for everything (installation, permits and warranty), so you need to make sure to ask them. With Jimmy and his crew, all the charges were included in the price. I would definitely reach out to them if I need their services and would recommend them to anyone who needs an A/C & Heating contractor.

I wish I could give 0 stars…read more I wanted a whole home humidifier installed in my apartment. Jim's son came next day and installed it back in October 2018. It never performed the way it should have, and Jim would not come take a look at it, only trouble shoot over the phone, and tell me Im doing it wrong. After calling the manufacturer, I was told the problem was that it was hooked up to the cold water line, when it needs to be on the hot water line. Took 3 months of back and forth and ignoring my calls for Jim to finally come and switch the line over at the end of January 2019. Almost immediately after entering my home to make the repair, Jim insulted me, saying I don't know anything about these units, and this is the first one in the thousands that he's installed that didn't work properly. He then over tightened the self piercing saddle valve (which I have since learned are against code in the state of New Jersey), causing it to leak. He became confrontational and blamed me for this leak. He then put some tape and puddy on the leak and got it to stop long enough for him to tell me I was all set and left. Sure enough 2 days later, I came home to puddles of water leaking from my HVAC closet. Jim wouldn't return my phone calls and I had to call in an emergency plumber to fix the situation. They told me that self piercing saddle valves are against code in NJ and are a cheap short cut from doing it right and prone to leaking. I paid over $700 to fix this and install the proper shut off valve, and remove the dead saddle valve on the cold water line. Also after installing this humidifier, my furnace now "short cycles", because its not getting enough air to the furnace as air is being borrowed for the humidifier. Ive called a real company to handle this problem. Overall Jim does not know which humidifier to install based on my HVAC needs. He cuts corner with parts that are against code and has created more problems that he solves. My advice call someone else, or at the very least dont let him put a self piercing saddle valve in your house.
