Finally when filed with BBB, and he came to put valve handle on. (Almost 2 months later) Asked what about stem that was broken and that was crooked, he said he managed to push handle on. But I'm afraid to test it. Not a screw in handle like previous one (which he took, along with all my warranty paper work for new faucet). He claimed he was in rehab for some health issue...but that doesn't stop you from texting or leaving short messasge saying you will get back to me when you feel better. They came and assessed the situation and then e-mail two written estimates the next day ( one with an anode package which extends the life and warranty of the Rheem water heater, which we took . ) An appointment was set for a week or so later and the installation was completed. After a few days I took a very close look at the crimp type compression connections ( I dislike these immensely but it now seems to be standard in plumbing) and noticed a tiny drip from one side. Nothing major ( a drip formed every few hours ) but we notified Lesco and a tech came over a few days later and cut out and replaced the connection. Smith water heater (sold by Sears as a PowerMiser 9). The A.O. Smith does not make that size water heater anymore, so I am trying to stretch the life of the current water heater by replacing the anode every 3-5 years. For those unfamiliar with water heaters, the anode rod is a sacrificial piece of metal (usually magnesium or a zinc-aluminum alloy) that hangs in your water heater and prevents the tank from rusting. It takes the hit and oxidizes (ie: rusts) instead of the metal in the tank. I contacted about 7 different plumbers, but only 2 plumbers were willing to come and replace water heater anodes. Of those two plumbers, the other plumber replaces only large commercial water heaters anode rods at nearly double the cost, so the choice was easy. Joe came the next week with plumbing crew, figured out how to remove a 4 foot long anode rod with less than 16" head-room above the water heater, and managed to squeeze in a new anode rod. The total cost was $250, which seemed fair the actual cost of replacing the water heater in about 5 more years if I did not replace the anode rod.

His web site indicated he had one. I contacted him and began negotiating price. I paid $730 for my unit new. He wanted $2000 for a used one. Since he apparently has the last remaining unit on earth, I finally agreed to pay him $1800 for it. I asked if it was in working order just to me sure I want getting ripped off. Paying more than double was bad enough. The unit arrived and..... you guess it. It does not work. My attempt to contact him go ignored. This man is a scam and a fraud. I have opened a Consumer Affairs investigation with the NJ Attorney Generals office. I doubt I will ever see a dime but I plan to make his logs as miserable as he's made mind.
