Tap selection is limited (half-star deduction) but there is a decent liquor selection. There aren't that many seats, but since this is a local place, they probably have it set up for what they normally need. I noticed the pool table and dartboard in the back. This would be a chill place to catch some football. As far as the food, I was surprised to find that the BBQ is no longer what it used to be. Besides being a limited menu for now, the sauce was much darker and saltier. At least there was plenty of it, and the mac&cheese has improved quite a bit. Then I put in perspective what bar food usually entails, and I realize Side Door actually has it quite good. I want to come back here on a weekend and really take my time to check the place out. The referees interacted with the kids the whole time and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job! The party hostess was attentive and on top of everything! They encouraged the parents to join the kids and get involved. The kids ran around like crazies and played HARD for 2.5 hours. All of the kids (and some parents) had the best time! Cannot say enough great things; highly recommend for any Nerf loving kiddos.

They were tremendous and very accommodating all night. The cocktail hour had a number of different options ranging from a seafood table to Charcuterie plates to a gyro station. There was also a number of pastas and a section for Asian cuisine with stir fry being served. There were numerous staff members walking around with handheld dishes too. My favorite option here was probably the harissa at the gyro station. I had that on a falafel gyro, and it was very flavorful. The sushi rolls were decent at best while the grilled chorizo was tasty. Those were just a few of the many dishes I had. For dinner, there was a choice of three main courses along with a salad. The salad consisted of mixed greens, frisee, endive, almond silvers, dried cranberries, and goat cheese with a white balsamic vinaigrette. This was a well put together salad. The white balsamic vinaigrette was key as it brought all the flavors together. Regarding the main course, I was able to share two, the filet mignon and Chilean seabass. The filet had a bordelaise sauce with carrots, asparagus, and a red bliss potato cake. The seabass was pan seared with an heirloom tomato fondue, asparagus, carrots, and a rice pilaf. These were decent at best. The filet had an inconsistent temperature throughout as it was cooked to a medium on the inside while the outside was more well done. The vegetables were a tad hard while the potato cake was nicely fried. It was expected at a large event. The seabass was cooked nicely, but just well under seasoned. The fondue was okay while the rice was a tad hard too. For dessert, cake with ice cream was served. I doubt the cake was made on the premise, but it was not too bad. It was all vanilla I believe including the ice cream. Will I go back? Probably.
