They aren't a dine-in restaurant per se, simply take away with a few tables inside. We ordered over $120 of food and it was both accurate and steaming hot. Tastes varied on the differently prepared tofu. The egg drop soup was a complete miss- pure gel-like and not appealing. The egg rolls were tasty and rice was fresh. I ordered Hot & Spicy Shrimp, way overwhelmingly sweet. Shrimp in it was good and big, but couldn't eat rice, just tasted like thick sweet and sour with red pepper flakes added. Husband had Mongolian Beef and said it was good. Portion left him hungry. The forks they give you to eat with are ridiculous. Like toddler-size, cheap plastic, hard to hold and bend. I'd be willing to pay a quarter to use a real fork or a better quality disposable! Pork eggrolls and cream cheese wontons were very good and all food was nice and hot. Not much for ambience, a couple of tables with boxes stacked all over, really cold, couldn't take winter coat off to eat. Service was quick. read more

Their service: really good. Pretty nice folks that willing to communicate with me because im Deaf & theyre not giving me a hard time. Super easy to work out with and got my orders right. Delicious food! We ordered spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, steamed dumplings, orange chicken and chicken lo mein. Everything was wonderful! Family owned and run, which is pretty cool. Only thing to note was green onion in cream cheese wontons. Not a ton but shifts the flavor a bit. We will definitely be back! read more

I was craving Chinese food, so I saw this little hole in the wall place I ordered some fried rice. My thoughts were if they can make good fried rice then I will order more food. I ended up ordering $61.00 of all kinds of food! In Brainerd we do not have good Chinese food. I will make the drive there any time. It's worth it! read more

This place is so good! I ordered orange chicken, kung pao chicken, chicken fried rice, vegetable fried rice, and cream cheese wontons. They were all very delicious! Compared to other restaurants in the area, the food was not greasy at all and I loved the generous amount of sauce they put on the chicken compared to other places. The rice was not salty at all and was very delicious. The chicken was very crunchy and flavorful. The chicken also comes with white rice, which was perfectly cooked and very delicious with the chicken. I especially loved the cream cheese wontons. They have onion in them, which adds so much flavor. They also come with sweet and sour dipping sauce. Definitely my new favorite takeout in Big Lake!! read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Big Lake. The food is very good,the variety is huge, and the portion size is really large. And I'm a big guy and I am not able to finish it. The fact that it is a family run place makes it even more charming and they are as nice as nice can be. Is it fancy, no. No 1 China is an excellent choice when you're in the mood for quick and delicious take out. The wait is typically 15 minutes so calling ahead is great, or if you need to do some quick grocery shopping it's right next to Coborns grocery store. As others reviewers have said, a cute as a button little girl takes your order and your food is delivered in person by (I'm guessing) her mother. The menu is vast! I tried the beef with mixed vegetables as I do each time I try a new Chinese place. If that is good I can be pretty certain everything else will be. I was not disappointed. The beef was tender, the veggies just the right sort of crisp, the sauce tasty and not overpowering. If you're looking for some great American style Chinese food this is your place! read more

For Big Lake, the Chinese food here is pretty good. Anything orange or sesame is great. The coconut shrimp is ok. Order out though.

Well its slightly better than frozen. Beyond that I can't say much else. If the grocery store is closed and the other chinese restaurant is closed, maybe I'd come back. I came here in early January and found it to be somewhat blah and lifeless in flavor.
