Oh look, the generic chinese menu board that is at every other american chinese take out restaurant. Neat...

Just got off of work and was feeling awfully hungry. My co workers have this strange obsession with this place and claim that its the best. Somehow, I'm not convinced. This was my second time trying China Dragon. The first time I had sweet and sour chicken, wontons and sesame chicken. The chicken didnt "wow" me at all. Just tasted okay. That's the impression I got from it. Just your average chinese restaurant with typical american chinese food with no orginality. That was many months ago. After listening to both my co workers raving about this place today, partnered with my empty stomach, I caved in and figured I would give this place a second chance. I ordered the House Special Mei Fun and the Singapore Fried Rice (spicy fried rice apparently). I hurry home to dive into my dishes. I was pleased with the mei fun. Had shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetables in it. It wasn't too greasy and had a pretty good taste. The beef I could tell was that cheap beef with the red marks on it that is synonymous with all chinese places it seems. Noodles were good. Then I tried the fried rice. I was expecting it to be spicy but there was NO SPICE! It tasted alright but I was looking forward to that kick in my fried rice. So I loaded it up with Franks Red Hot Sauce because I wanted spicy rice damn it! After this meal, I feel the same as I did before. This is just a ho hum chinese joint. The food is alright and is reasonably priced but is no different from the dozens of other america. chinese food places in the area. If you are in the area and need some standard chinese food to fill you up, I guess this is the spot.

I recently moved to the area and wanted some good Chinese. This spot is good for your basics and satisfies a craving.

Food seemed a little overly greasy. Chicken was marginal, wontons were good. I've had better closer to home. No rush to go back

The mozzarella sticks were the best. Not overly heavy or greasy. Most everything is housemade ( not the pasta though) They even had a housemade limoncello but with tangerine! And the toffee cake and ice cream was warm and delicious. Chef Raffaele visited our table. I think he has amazing place and should be on everyone's need to visit list! They are only open for dinner. Looks like they have patio dining in the summer months. We came NYE so service was a little slower but friendly. Someone was making sure our waters were filled and used plates taken away. Food was definitely freshly made. We ordered the mussels for appetizer. We chose the spicy tomato sauce and it was yummy. My husband ordered the veal Marsala and it came with choice of soup or salad and a side of pasta. Penne with red sauce was the standard or upgrade to fettuccine Alfredo. Creamy clam soup was delicious. Nice and rich. Fettuccine noodles were over cooked but the cream sauce was so good. You can taste the fresh cream. It was slightly under seasoned but nothing a little salt didn't fix. The veal was nice and tender, lots of mushrooms, and a side of steamed green beans. This dish was also slightly under seasoned. I ordered one of the specials, a pasta bolognese. Supposed to come with penne but I requested it with fettuccine. Noodles were cooked better than the Alfredo but still slightly overcooked. The bolognese sauce was so delicious. They give you bread for the table but it was dense and lacked flavor. Glass of wine, appetizer, and two entrees came out be a little under $100 before tip. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. Not a knock your socks off place but nice and cozy with freshly prepared dishes.
