FYI- whenever visiting Gatwick, try to pre-book your lounge experience as soon as you can. There are a total of 3 lounges that are available for priority pass within the airport, and all were super booked by the time we arrived. Luckily we were able to get onto the list for this lounge. We were able to enter after 40 min of waiting. Food was mediocre, but had a hot and cold food selection. Plenty of alcohol drink options, but not so much soda and water options (I.e flavored water and sparkling) Area was nice, even when crowded. I liked how they had a sports room and a quiet room on top of the general seating. read more

My experience in airport lounges in quite minimal. As a recent priority pass holder, I've had the opportunity to go to a couple. I read some reviews prior and was a bit concerned, but we had a great experience. We did pre-book for an extra 5 pounds per person. Totally worth it! We ordered our meal, now I would call it more of a snack, but then they had some food set out like fruit, salad, soup, nuts, and some desserts. They had a variety of offerings at the bar and there's not maximum like in some lounges, so I kept the sparkling wine flowing. We were able to spread out, have a decent meal, and enjoy our last couple of hours in London. read more

I'll give these guys a bit more credit than some have on Yelp. Yes, this is one of the most packed lounges I've ever been to, but when you have a priority pass and it's all included, I'm not going to complain much. This place does get packed, so you might have some trouble finding a seat, but besides that I loved the experience here. 2.5 stars. I am not a regular lounge-goer, but I've been to a few lounges around the world. And This lounge is extremely average, if not below average. First off, there were screaming noisy kids everywhere during my visit - which really takes away from the relaxing lounge vibe. Kids screaming, crying, running around while you are trying to walk back to your table with your coffee. It felt like a random $15 breakfast buffet rather than a premium lounge at an airport. Secondly, the food selection is very limited. Third, they kept running out of coffee cups (!!!) by the coffee machine. Never seen that happen anywhere. It took ages for them to clear the table, and the staff just weren't friendly. Except the lady at the bar - she was the only one who served me with a smile. I don't plan to be back. read more

Gorgeous lounge. Truly outstanding in its layout as lounges go. Spacious and well designed with plenty of rooms containing restful lighting, chesterfield sofas, comfortable leather seating. When you enter you walk into an impressive and welcoming well-tended marble bar. To the right is a quiet dim relaxing sports area with great seating and a large screen set to the sports channel. Beyond that behind the bar is a large windowed dining area. The hot food was not attractive or tasty to me but it was hearty and I could find enough to satisfy me with the beverage and small bites array. The study rooms are so cozy and lovely, packed with plentiful warm corners to relax and have a quiet rest in the bustle of chaotic travel. I also really appreciated the departures screen near the bar. Kept us on track and informed. So glad this lounge is here for the weary traveler. read more

Fairly spacious with a small selection of cold foods and pastries for breakfast. Best part of the food is each customer can order one small hot meal for breakfast or lunch. Drinks are all complimentary except for champagne. Overall a good Lounge. I will check out the others here next time just to see what other lounges offer, but it's not bad for PriorityPass access. read more

Got here 3 1/4 hours before flight departure, and they wouldn't let me in for 15 mins because you came arrive before 3 hours of departure. As for the place itself. Food. You get a menu and can only get 1 thing of off it. Menu attached, rather limited. They did also had a salad and dessert bar, but also limited (see pics). Drinks: only 2 kinds of beer on tap, plus hard cider. They had large selection of hard liquor, but serve in small glasses. The place was very crowded. The No 1 lounges are in a class of their own when it comes to the non-airline lounges in Europe. They offer a nice and relaxing spot to work in (free wifi), good food (quality is far superior to the Menzies, Avia, Novia etc lounges) where one can even order some food to be prepared for you. Breakfast is good with yogurt, fresh fruit salad, croissants, bread, juice, cereal, milk, coffees and teas. There is of course also some snacks etc and alcoholic beverages (irrespective of the time of the day). Later in the day they offer soups, cheese, tasty salads, cous cous etc as well as the a la carte menu (poached pot, soup, sausage and bacon rolls etc) as well as a menu that costs something (bigger dishes). Good selection of different wines also offered free of charge (and even larger selection for the one who wish to pay something). In general just one of the better lounges around so always enjoy spending time here. read more

For Priority Pass holders this lounge is an absolute SCAM- pretty much can't get in without a prior £5 pound reservation (somehow whatever PP reimburses is good enough for other contract lounges). They "helpfully" offered me to buy a reservation for 2 hours from now. Of course offering to wait until somewhat exits was met with "we can't do it, it's all reserved". Be prepared to make other plans if transferring in or departing from the South terminal (there is a PP restaurant close by) read more

**Priority Pass Select Members Beware** South Terminal Lounge - Like everyone else here who had problems when trying to get in with Priority Pass Select, I too experienced the same. But the waiting area of the Gatwick South Terminal was the most crowded and unorganized terminal I've ever been to. People were sitting on the floor everywhere because there was no space. I came into the lounge, showed my priority pass select, was asked if I made a reservation, I had not, and then was told that they were full and cannot seat me. Oh but apparently, they have room in their "private rooms with champagne" but I would have to pay an extra $15-20 for. I thought all my access was already paid for in my priority pass select! I bit the bullet and paid the fee because I had work I needed to do and I was just going to drink my money back in champagne. In the private rooms, you're given a smaller breakfast menu of basic items, I had the eggs benedict, which were meh. I enjoyed the quiet/private-ness of the room. There was a fridge full of sodas and drinks and several cold pastries on the counter. I took the liberty to walk around and saw that they were indeed NOT full and I myself am only one person, not a family of four - they could've just stuck me at the bar. I understand that with many more credit card holders now having priority pass select, these airport lounges are going to be getting a greater influx of members - but they're still paying members and the lounges should not be turning them away just cause. read more

When you pay extra to fly first or business class you expect a certain type of experience & lounge.....that being said. This is the worst lounge experience I've ever had (also not a fan of the airport) It's basically a restaurant, you can't show up until your reservation time or 3 hours before your flight. It's loud and filled with young children, you can't just sit anywhere. If you're solo or a couple they'll kick you off the "reserved" tables/couches. There aren't that many food options, it's basically limited snack options and the best part ONE meal is complimentary. I could go on, but I think you get the point. Don't come here. read more

This is a nice airport lounge. The decoration is very modern, and the size is decent. I was there early in the morning, and they were serving breakfast. They offer a hot meal. What you need to do is to bring the menu they gave u after u check-in to the bra, and order your meal. I chose quesadilla. It contained egg, some meat sauce, and veggie. The wrap of the quesadilla was crispy. I like it! They also offered variety of juice, coffee, and alcoholic drinks at the bar. Pastry (butter croissants, chocolate croissants, and muffins, and cup cakes), fruits (cantaloupes, grapes, and pineapples), yogurt, porridge, and cereal are also available. Environment was pleasant and clean. It was a good place to chill when waiting to board. read more

The interior of the lounge is very clean and modern and there is a friendly atmosphere about the lounge. Complimentary food and drinks at the bar were a definite positive. I couldn't help myself so at 9am I enjoyed a cold glass of Estrella while my sister had a Mali by and lemonade (well we are off on holiday). 4 pan au chocolats down my bacon roll arrived and went down a treat! Fruit juices and cheese on crackers were plentiful. So why not 5 stars? Why only a below par review score? The receptionist. I never like to be critical or blame staff, but the only chink in the armour was the girl at reception who let down my experience despite everybody else's effort. I arrived about 8:30 and explained that my sister has a loyalty card and is going to get me in as a guest and I think she is inside. She would not allow me to walk in to find her but looked through receipts to see if she was in. She said no. Confused, I spent the next 15 minutes enquiring in the 3 other lounges to no avail. I went back to this lounge to see my sister at reception. I explained that this was my sister and she didn't seem bothered. No apology, no further conversation, just said I can go in and moved onto the next customer. I want to differentiate this lounge from its counterpart in the north terminal, as I feel it could well be given an unnecessarily tarnished image. This was my first visit to the No 1 Lounge at Gatwick's South Terminal, as I'd decided to try it out for myself. Although there is some building work going on to the entrance, I was warmly welcomed by a host and was given entry to the lounge. It's a fairly large area, and the numbers of people already there showed that it must be a popular place. You'll find a bright, light and airy room, with panoramic views of the airport. Although I had to search for a spare seat, and eventually shared a table with someone, I had no qualms with the lounge. Staff were friendly and helpful, and what food I had was very tasty and well presented. Having spent some three hours in the lounge, I was able to while away the time doing some work, catching up on emails and then having a bit of a relax. For £28, I was happy to pay this and get away from the maddening crowds that make up the departure lounge, especially when there are screaming children around. You have access to a small, but totally adequate menu, which changes throughout the day, and provides something for most people's tastes. My vegetarian tagine with couscous was excellent. Drinks, soft and alcoholic (except champagne and Prosecco) are complimentary and there are tea/coffee stations too. I would gladly return again, and recommend it to anyone. Seeing that I run my own travel agency, the first hand experience allows me to introduce it to my clients. read more

Review for the South Terminal: Priority Pass members apparently get scammed out for a "reservation fee" or "clubroom fee" if they want to use this lounge. I was refused admittance based on my PP, if I didn't pay the extra fees, because they were "fully booked". Later I visited the airline desk for Norwegian Air, which I was flying, and they told me that my premium boarding pass included admission to this lounge. So I went back, and suddenly the "fully booked" lounge magically had space. I did sit there for about an hour. This was not as nice as the No. 1 Lounge at Heathrow. On the plus side, it was marginally quieter than the terminal outside, and I was able to sit at a table with an outlet next to it to charge my phone. However, we were only allowed one tiny meal and had to line up to order it. I had planned on picking up a bottle of water for the flight, and even this was not available. I'm not sure if I wouldn't have had a better experience, and nicer customer service, going to one of the restaurants in the main gate area. read more

I've used a few No 1 lounges now - it makes it so much more relaxing at the airport. This was the first time I'd been to the south terminal one at Gatwick and was pleased. It is a little smaller than the one I adore at Heathrow, but had a nice range of food on offer and I had a very pleasant lamb kofta dish. We got a little room on the first floor for just us and some decent aircon. Free soft drinks as well - perfect. It lost a star simply because on this occasion, a manager decided to give a staff member a dressing down for about ten minutes outside the room. Another passenger even asked for the free wifi password at one point, and afterwards she went back to doing it. Totally unprofessional. read more

As a huge fan of the No1 Lounge at Heathrow, I was quite keen to get in to this lounge, even though we weren't flying out internationally and having to be at the airport really early. It's the same price as the Heathrow lounge, but right now at least, they're running a special to also allow for the Priority Security line. A bit more hunting and I found that Times+ members had a buy one get one free deal, so I signed up to a 1 month trial, booked the lounge, and off we went. The priority security line was nice - no queue, and no hassle. We got through all the metal detectors without trouble and headed straight for the lounge. You go to the Lounge by, essentially, going to Frankie & Benny's. Unfortunately the lift was out so we had to drag our carry ons up quite a few stairs to the lounge. We checked in to the Lounge without trouble but noticed it was quite small, so we headed upstairs. It's also pretty small up there, and is open to the main terminal. It was warm and while not noisy, not as quiet as the Heathrow lounge. But we found a little room with a TV and a table with just two chairs so we went there and shut the door. It wasn't soundproof though, so when a member of staff sat outside the door and yelled at and argued with a junior employee - who was clearly getting formally written up (she read out the infractions and he had to sign it), we had to hear the whole thing. The TV didn't appear to be able to be changed, and the news channel it was on wasn't tuned in well. The chairs were desk chair types and perfectly fine. There aren't any power points in this little glass meeting room-type-place. The free hot food was good. Not a lot of choice on the salady selection. Soda was available in a fountain dispenser, along with some juice and water. A full bar selection was available too. With the exception of mean manager, the staff were nice and helpful. I'd come back, but only with an offer - it wasn't worth £25 a person (£30 at the door!) read more

What a horrific experience. Crowded. Food ordered that never showed. Talked to four people for help and food finally arrived while we were walking out the door to our flight. Food options minimal and they were out of half of the menu items. You had to battle to find one empty seat. Do not waste your time or money. Priority Pass and other lounge cardholders BEWARE!!! I've traveled through dozens of airport lounges with my Priority Pass card and the south terminal of London Gatwick was my second to last stop on a 10 country journey this past month. This lounge normally charges about $38 USD per person, but it claims to be affiliated with Priority Pass so the charge should be complimentary. However that is not the case. I spent the night at the airport in Gatwick and arrived at the lounge approximately 4 hours before my flight was scheduled to depart and they seemed very friendly and welcoming until I told them I was a Priority Pass cardholder. I was then told "sorry we're fully booked, you have to make a reservation or try again in an hour." I was shocked as I've NEVER been told a lounge was "fully booked" as a Priority Pass cardholder. So I found a seat in the airport, bought a sandwich and pressed juice elsewhere and decided to research this further. Turns out they want Priority Pass and other lounge cardholders to PAY £10 by making a reservation 6 hours in advance on their website when your Priority Pass card ALREADY IS PAYING FOR YOU TO BE THERE!!!! It's just a scam for them to make some extra money. All in all, I checked back every single hour up until my flight departs for "availability" and was told the same "were fully booked try again" speech, however I clearly could see when peeking in that is was barely half full. Also, the couches were super comfy and it was a good £50 worth to just relax and not be outside crowded with other passengers. Highly recommend if you have time to kill. We had access to the No. 1 Lounge at Gatwick due to our premium cabin ticket on Norwegian Air. We were only permitted access to the bar/ dining side of the lounge, not allowed to go to television lounge area, not sure why? I found the lounge to be crowded, people were constantly looking for seats. For my entree I ordered the hummus plate which was tasty but a small portion. The other snacks in the bar area sufficed though. Frequently, there were not enough dishes/ glasses available. The lounge needs more staff to handle the volume of passengers/ glassware/ dishes/ silverware. View is great and the seats certainly beat sitting in the terminal, but I don't think I'd want to pay out of pocket for this experience. read more

This lounge is no longer available for those with Aer Lingus status. Go down to Clubrooms, which is between JD and Dixon's. The menu is exactly the same, but they don't have a barman. They are stingy with the free booze in Clubrooms. read more

The women's bathroom smells like urine that has been there forever, they make you wait until 3 hours before your flight to use the lounge, and the food sucks! The reason there is a lounge is so you can have a good bathroom and somewhere nice to sit while you have a long layover - this place met none of these needs. I travel a lot and use priority pass everywhere. The only one lounge that 100% of times claims to be overwhelmed is No1 Lounge in South Terminal. They have always denied me access under that excuse. The place sucks. You pay for a membership but every time you try to use it you needed to make a reservation. Was told an hour ago to come back in an hour. Arrived and told not letting anyone without reservation in. Why you ask when it isn't full? They make more money as it cost to book a reservation. Save your money. The lounge is only good for a few "free" drinks as the food sucks and people that work there have sticks up their asses. read more
