The Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow Terminal was honestly pretty disappointing. It was a struggle just getting inside. The wait was about 15-20 minutes, so we checked in, walked around outside for a bit, then came back and were finally able to get in. Once inside, there was barely any seating available. We eventually found a spot, but the overall experience didn't really improve from there. The food was not good at all, and the selection was extremely limited. They were out of plates, out of utensils, and even the beverages coming out of the refrigerator weren't cold. Overall, it just didn't feel worth the wait to get into the lounge. The priority pass lounge is located in terminal 2. Not the easiest to find based on the lounge directory description. It's on the departure level. Take the down escalator and make a right turn to the dead end. Viola. The lounge. We circled around and around before we found it. And we were using GPS. We checked in at the front desk. I was issued a receipt. Why? If I exceeded the two hour stay I would incur a charge. Later I turned in the receipt under the two hour limit. I said do I get a receipt for turning in the receipt. No. I hope I'm not going to be billed. As for the lounge. It was very busy. But enough seats. We were there during the lunch hour. Plenty to select from. I'm not sure how this place receives raves reviews. First the staff were pretty rude. They acted like we were getting a handout. This is while they were yelling at other prospective guests for not being allowed in. I'm Sure there's a nicer way to handle the guest situation. Then there's the overcrowding. There was sooo many people trying to use amenities it felt like trying to get a premium item at a buffet. I could only find a seat near the entrance. Who would've thought my first ever airport lounge visit would be at Heathrow? Courtesy of the all too common Priority Pass, I arrived here a short while after 9am to grab some breakfast and I guess relax. The lounge is of a decent size, but it was nearly packed with countless travelers either in transit of departing from Terminal 2. I still believe there's a significant chunk of international travel coming out of this terminal and this is the default lounge unless you're lucky enough to have access to Lufthansa or the United Club (there's a 3rd lounge too, but I forget the name). The breakfast is buffet line (as it the case most everywhere). They had scrambled eggs, but I guess they didn't have any form of a toast? I had a tiny muffin and also got some green tea as I couldn't really find where they kept the milk for coffee or english tea. The food was pretty typical.... a notch above hotel breakfast buffets but nothing extraordinary. As for seating, there are regular seats, special seats with lighting (almost for reading/working), bar seats, and couches to lay down. I ate breakfast kinda comfortably (I guess) in a regular seat, but ended up moving afterwards because it just got a bit too loud for my preference. I went to a couch and then overheard someone on speakerphone. Yes - I could've just put my AirPods on, but sometimes you just want to just sit in peace without anything. The seats itself were a bit worn - you can easily tell by the quality. It wasn't superiorly clean either. Other downside is that it feels all too dreary in here due to the location of the lounge and not having any windows or bright lights. I think that's generally one of the downsides of people easily getting complimentary access to all these lounges. The lounges kind of become less exclusive and less peaceful at times. You kinda see it here even with the service as it expects a certain clientele of people flocking to the lounges. read more

On Priority Pass app, it stated that there is a maximum 2 hour stay only. However it doesn't mention anywhere on the Priority Pass app and website that this lounge would allow members inside only 2 hours before boarding time. This caused confusion and inconvenience for us having to find a place to wait in between, unlike the Centurion lounges. While I respect the rule, we would hope that they could update their information on the app to inform Priority Pass members ahead of time. read more

This was my first visit to the Plaza Premium Lounge. Upon checking in, the male front desk only greeted my male partner even though I am the priority pass holder. When I handed my phone to be scanned to the woman at the front desk, she threw my phone on the counter after scanning it. No one mentioned the aircon was broken and the lounge was stiflingly hot. There were no water glasses, so I asked for one which seemed like a huge inconvenience to the bartender. The food area was quite messy, so we didn't grab anything. The heat was too overwhelming so we left after about 5 minutes. I see after that I've been charged $100 for the visit. I had mentioned that I'm an Amex Gold member at the desk and our visit was meant to be complimentary as part of that. I've since contacted both Amex and Priority Pass who have each told me it's the other companies problem. Good luck getting priority pass to email you back as well. I had to chase them multiple times. 0/5 for me because of the sexist staff member, the heat, lack of clean eating area and no glassware. read more

My absolute favorite airport lounge. At Heathrow, there's actually an arrival lounge and a departure lounge. The arrival lounge is very small and more similar to a coffee shop. In contrast, the departure lounge is one of the biggest I've been to. Both had very clean bathrooms, places to shower, and comfortable seating. Importantly, the food at both the arrival and departure lounges were really delicious. The arrival lounge is located after customs/border and baggage claim near the exit. I had to ask someone for the location, but just following the lounge signs would've helped too. I was at the arrival lounge at around 8am on Christmas Day but was greeted by very friendly staff. The food served was a full breakfast (you get to choose the items) with all types of coffee drinks. They have the most delicious sausages here so don't skimp out on the sausage! The departure lounge is the most amazing lounge ever. It had so much seating, with tons of private places, and wonderful food. It made me feel like I was transported to a hotel. The food was served buffet style. There was a bar which had prices attached to the drinks. DO NOT WORRY. Just ask for the complimentary drinks! There is a good amount of the free stuff, but they do have fancier drinks for purchase. I came here with priority pass so of course, it was 100% worth it. However, this is probably the only lounge I think is worth my money if I didn't have priority pass. read more

My brother has Priority Pass via his Amex Card, and so he was able to get our group of 4 into this lounge to chill out before our plane's departure time to Lisbon. The gentleman who checked us in gave us some fabulous tips on how he could get us into the Lounge for cheaper, and so the really lovely service bumps them up a star. They also have napping spaces! Admittedly only 4 nap spots, but I nabbed one of them and had a lovely power nap on the very comfy day bed. The food was a really good selection with lots of excellent choices! The day we were there, it was carrot and coriander soup, rice and madras chicken, beef stew, mushroom ravioli and mini veggie samosas! There was also a cold collation of meats/ cheese/ salad/ olives etc and then sandwich and amazing chocolate muffins! The arrival lounge gives you a 3 course meal, but you'll need at least an hour to spend there. The departure lounge is a buffer and the food isn't as hot since it sits there. If you have the time, I'd go to the arrivals. Lots of space and drinks. There are a few napping benches, but very limited. Claim your seats fast! Lots of outlets but I didn't see USB ones. Today, we chose the Plaza lounge over the Centurion lounge in Terminal 3 to be closer to our departure gate, and I'm so glad we did. This was the best meal we've had at an Amex/priority pass lounge! Like good enough that I won't deduct a star for the skimpy bar options (warm Carlsberg was not a hit, but oh well, the food and comfort made up for it). I hope the SFO Centurion Lounge borrows these recipes! The North African Spiced Chicken was so good! My boyfriend described it as "the best food we've had in the UK" and "better than most of the curries and restaurants we've tried back in SF." The accompanying chickpea dish was also delicious and perfectly seasoned, with lots of veggies. The strawberry mouse was a lovely dessert; I had two. The ambiance was lovely. The seating was comfortable. I arrived very early morning and there was a full English buffet breakfast available as well as a continental selection and cereal. The lounge filled up rather quickly closer to 8am and seemed to get pretty busy. There are no nap pods but there is a small section where two benches face each other. Good luck trying to nab one though, once someone's in there, they're not giving it up. Computer books are available but desk nooks (without a PC) are not. WiFi is available. After visiting quite a few lounges over the past few weeks of travel, I have to say that this lounge was quite the disappointment. The food was minimal, and they were out of most hot dishes. I grabbed a croissant and asked for jelly but they did not have any. There is a cooler had small soda only, no beers or bottles of water to grab. They had a flavored water that you could pour from a jug. I did not visit the bar so I cannot speak on that. The food selection included: rice, beef stew, vegetarian chili and mushroom pasta. Cold food included small sandwiches, cheese and fruit cocktail from a can. My mom said the mushroom pasta was bad, and she only had a bite. We ate a few of the sandwiches which were bland and then left. The lounge does deserve 2 stars because it was very clean and the bathrooms were nice.
