Chad was very professional and did a fantastic job with my television and surround sound. He arrived right on time and gave me a call about twenty minutes prior to let me know he was on his way. He got to the house and went right to work. I am not technologically savvy at all, so I asked for his opinion about how high to hang the TV, where to place the speakers, etc. He definitely knew his stuff and was happy to help. Everything looks and sounds fantastic. Also, he was meticulous about keeping my floors clean. Due to the rain, there was a lot of mud outside so I expected some tracking in when he arrived. However, he never stepped foot on my floors without putting covers on his shoes and kept them spotless. AND, he put up with my very nosy, very persistent, German Shepherd who decided to make herself the center of attention while he was here. After he left, my cable installer had some trouble figuring out the wiring. I called Chad and he answered immediately. I put him on the phone with the cable guy and he explained the set up. As soon as they hung up, everything was working perfectly. The cable guy even seemed impressed with how everything was done. That moment when you schedule an appointment with No Cables Attached to get your TV mounted, patiently wait for the guy to show up at your place, only to realize hours later that this would be a "no show" situation and most importantly a waste of your damn time.... ****crickets**** Would love to say it ain't so, but folks- it's so. Didn't think I'd be giving this business a one star review because I chose them due to the many great Yelp reviews and the customer photos showing proof of their work. Based off that alone, I was sold. I was looking to get my flat screen mounted and after researching a few places, No Cables Attached made the final cut, as they happened to be one of the first places to call me back. I spoke with Chad and had a brief conversation about the installation process and how much it would cost. He then gave me his availability, in which I expressed to him that the following Monday (which was 1/2/17) would work for me. He told me he thought he had an opening for the 9AM-11AM time frame on that day, but would give me a call back to confirm. He kept his word and followed back up with me as promised and confirmed that he would be able to come during that time frame. Perfect. Fast forwarding to the morning of the appointment. I was home- ready and waiting for Chad's arrival. After the 9:00AM hour passed, I didn't think anything of it because it was still early. But once it got closer to the 11:00AM hour and he was no where in sight, I definitely began to feel some type of way. I blocked out my entire morning to be available for this installation and the fact that Chad never called and said he would be running late or that he would need to reschedule was appalling. I started to give him a call, but after it was well past the appointment time and I began to realize that he didn't have the decency to follow up with me first, I was over it. Chad did an installation of three tvs and a sound system for me about a year ago. He was great, professional and concise. I recommended him to my parents when they moved and they had a great experience with him as well. I moved and called to schedule another appointment and till today have never heard back from him. I called everyday for two weeks and left numerous messages to no avail. As a professional myself, at this point it's worth investing in an assistant or an answering service so that your customers don't have to feel as though they're stalking you or at the very least can have someone to speak to when they call. We chose no cables attached for their close proximity to us, but also my partner and I are supporters of small business owners. We did not regret our choice. It did take a day or so to return our call, but as their phone message states, they may be out on a job. Once we did hear from Chad, he was fast to set up service and very accommodating. Luckily I work from home so was readily available. Our small snag happened because we did not have all the HDMI cables needed. He did have one himself to sell us, which saved us and him another trip. We even had another cable we were lacking which he happened to have. We were thankful! After it was done, it all looked clean and professionally done, which of course you would expect. Our other issue which didn't involve Chad was with our remote. While we didn't know if it was a wiring issue or not, it turned out to be the remote. I called Chad to come and see if it was a wiring issue. We tried to troubleshoot over the phone, but he ended up coming out. He ended up getting the remote situation resolved and even with it not appearing to be a wiring issue. In ADDITION, he centered our TV picture so we could view all channels without any "stretching" off the screen (another outside issue with our new TV). If you've suffered enough hard knocks and horror stories to recognize and value excellent customer service, you will become attached to No Cables Attached. Our new house has a media room prewired for 5.1 stereo and TV. I also had the patio and family room wired for basic two-channel stereo, so I told Chad, the founder of No Cables Attached, that I would like two pair of speakers and two volume controls installed as well. Over the course of a year I took advantage of sales to put together all the "parts" for a modest entertainment center/man cave. Wound up with lots of boxes containing in-wall speakers, powered subwoofer, AV receiver, Wi-Fi-enabled Blu-Ray player, projector and a fixed 120-inch screen. There was no way I was going to tackle (botch or procrastinate) the install, and Magnolia's estimate was way over my budget. The "Geek squad" solution wasn't much better. Now what? Over the years, we have discovered some fantastic restaurants by turning to Yelp, so I gave it a try. One of the first vendors on Yelp I reached immediately slammed projectors, saying if I had called him first he would have urged me to go with an HD flat screen. And, oh yeah, he didn't do projectors. OK. No harm. No foul. I moved on. (I didn't waste my time telling him was that while pinpoint resolution is great, I had already tackled that issue, did my testing of both, and knew that what I was after was a theater-like experience. Even an 80-inch HDTV didn't fill the field of vision enough and the largest Samsung -- our brand of choice -- I've come across is 75 inches.) I read the reviews here on No Cables Attached, liked the insights shared by customers so I went to Chad's website, looked around and left a message on the site's contact form. Chad responded promptly, addressed my concerns patiently and asked his own questions. Here's a glimpse at the kind of guy he is: he took initiative and told me that he noticed that I had purchased a fancy $150 Chief projector mount, but the one he uses is considerably less expensive and still work fine. I didn't hesitate to return the premium mount and related hardware and trusted Chad's solution, sight unseen. His generic mount is doing the job just fine and I saved at least $60. I appreciated that he charges flat rates for most of the common installations consumers are likely to require. And there's no pressure (hard sell) attached at No Cables Attached. His proposal was very reasonable, so we set a date. Chad showed up on time, was neat and is well-mannered. Like a Boy Scout, he is also prepared, bringing everything, including a ladder, zip ties for wiring, moving blankets and a brush and dustpan. (And stuff I didn't even know existed.) He quietly went about his work efficiently and confidently. Chad measured carefully, using a level to ensure that each speaker was spot-on. You can't fake experience and Chad's savviness was very evident in things like running HDMI cables and knowing where to cut speaker mounting frames to work with a particular drywall area. And he keeps all sorts of accessories that give a nice, professional touch, such as low-voltage cable plates to keep wiring and cables as tidy and/or unobtrusive as possible. He set down blankets to catch debris before sawing through drywall and cutting insulation to make a home for the speakers. And he cleaned up everything else. Bottom line: He finished my media room the way I would have -- if I had had the experience and know-how. It's about time I give back to the Yelp community and let you know about this gentle, but professional, soul. Incidentally, when I noticed the next day that one of the volume controls he installed started causing significant speaker distortion (and actually vibrated!), Chad replaced it with a brand new one and spent some time dialing it in, too. These are not just simple "pots" but have some circuitry that allows tailoring. It's downright decadent, but I don't have to go to the cabinet now to open the door and turn the knob. My wife is a stickler about not seeing my toys/hardware. Over the holidays we had friends over and everyone raved about the sound and picture of the videos and movies, especially the Eagles' "Farewell Live from Melbourne" Blu-Ray. By the time I start reading the instruction manuals and learning how to fine-tune the sound and all the fancy features, 4K projectors may be affordable for a working stiff like me. So it's surprising that this place is in business. They didnt make any effort to get mine. I called them twice, but nobody ever called me back, despite assurances that they would. When I called the 2nd time, they said they would escalate the request and mark it urgent and someone would call me back asap. Nobody did. Im not negative on all things only those that warrant it such as AT&T U-verse, who's prices have never stayed same the whole year, I was with them! I had to fight about ever aspect monthly on statements, slamming, over billing, bad services, to service issues! They are the highest price, if you move into a contract only one subscriber based apartment complex your stuck. Always ask if you can have other provider if not it means the apartment complex gets a kick back? Premium channels are worthless, you can get better free content online using your RadioShack DVR box or google plus, just about any other provider can offer you in some cases free content NO fees...I have a list of some that allow, HD free, NO fee unlike others charge for! Why have cable? Most shows are freely broadcast in HD you can use your DVR and Antenna to see for free, YouTube or use Netflix, Hulu, etc...Many content providers, now allow you to watch free with fewer commercials the same thing you pay for with cable! I have lot of information on how to most are posted to YouTube, from how to get free cable channels, to instructional ways to buy pass other systems, get free channels no extra charges as cable dies off, streaming replaces your current ways of viewing content now days...Cable like the cave man, streaming like using a bullet train. All your doing is paying their fat cat salaries at U-Verse, do you like throwing your money away to the rich? If not just google free cable TV see how many channels you can get for free out their! We had Chad mount a TV on a wall in our bedroom, which required the placement of a new power outlet. He was punctual and courteous. He installed a new outlet by wiring it to an existing outlet nearby. About three weeks later, the source outlet short circuited while my toddler was standing next to it, sending out sparks and smoke. Had a licensed electrician evaluate the outlet, which showed the new wiring placed by Chad was installed incorrectly and resulted in the short. Scary moment for sure, which costed us about $400 extra to fix. Be careful! read more
