I can't say enough good things about No Shenanigans Diving and the owner Mike Dingman. I have been a PADI certified diver since high school (1992) and consider myself to be an experienced diver. Even though I grew up in South Florida, I now live in landlocked Tennessee and don't have as many opportunities to dive. Mike, the owner, is a man of his word, and he really bent over backwards to get me the practical part of my Rescue Diver certification over a few consecutive days (instead of the usual two weekends) since I was only going to be in town for a few days. About six months prior to my trip to Florida, I contacted him with the dates I was available; even though no one else signed up for the class, he made arrangements for me to get with a Rescue Diver instructor for first pool time to practice skills, and then complete the scenarios on a couple of shore dives. Furthermore, I highly recommend Mike for anyone looking to get the Equipment Specialist certification. I got a lot more out of the class than I expected because he had old no-longer-in-use gear (tanks, regs, BC's, etc) that we could inspect, as well as rental gear waiting to be serviced. Then we inspected my own gear, and I found out that the reason I occasionally get a bit of water in my reg when I am upside down in the water is because there is a very small tear in the diaphragm. We exchanged the torn diaphragm with the one on my spare as a temporary fix, and then he ordered me a replacement. He was also able to order me the Aqualung Legend faceplate I have been trying to get my hands on for many months, and then ship it to me. And courtesy of his excellent Equipment Specialist training, I was able to put on my new faceplate and replace the torn diaphragm myself! I entrusted Mike at No Shenanigans with the safety and education of my 15 year old son for open water certification. We are a family of certified divers, each certified by a different facility at different times. After meeting Mike face to face, we decided to sign my son up for open water cert classes with Mike. On time, professional, welcoming and personable, Mike took my son under his wing and made sure that he was comfortable and safe through the entire process. He has gone on several dives with Mike and I have never been worried about him going without me. He really looks out for his dive group and takes his safety very seriously. He has called dives off even though the group was assembled and ready to dive, because conditions had changed and were not safe. There isn't a doubt in my mind that the safety of my son will always be in the forefront and there is no higher compliment I can give than the fact that I trust this man with my child's life. Its not a large shop, but the knowledge and the service Mike provides, way makes up for that! I am a licensed Coast Guard yacht captain I have been a captain for over 25 years I make my living on top of the water and shame on me as the owner of no shenanigans diving taught me there is a whole New World underneath the surface of the water. Being a yacht captain I am a stickler about safety I was referred to no shenanigans diving by a friend who is a diver I wanted to be certified before I tried diving...I made a phone call then showed up at no shenanigans diving and met a man named Mike who was absolutely positively fantastic he did not try to sell me on anything he explained the course thoroughly and did a tremendous job of making me feel comfortable before I decided to sign up . With that being said I realized afterwards that the man I was dealing with was the owner of the company Mike Dingman runs an amazing operation from start to finish he insured I was comfortable that I understood all safety practices and not once did he ever try to oversell anything he showed me differences in proper equipment.
