This is my second experience with Noah's Ark, they moved me several years ago and I of course had to use them again! Although they didn't pack up as quickly this time (probably because of Covid19, fewer people should be in the same space, my theory). They packed, moved, and partially unpacked (ran out of time for the full unpack) in one day! (Some other companies I contacted, while cheaper wanted to pack one day, move another day, and unpack a third day- which was not ideal considering we're trying to limit exposure). Do NOT use these movers - they are the worst. Not truthful in what they promise during the initial consult and deliver during the final move. The owner was hostile, rude and disrespectful to me when I called with a problem. The movers dropped and completely destroyed my glass dining room table and offered $100 in compensation. **CROOKS, CRIMINALS, BULLIES** Everything seemed fine until the moment my items were in their possession and then it became a circus of unfortunate events. 1. A week had passed and no word on when my items were estimated to arrive 2. Every time I called to ask for above information, they said they'd call the driver and call me back *this game went on for 3 days before they ultimately said they couldn't tell me yet as my items were still sitting in their warehouse* 3. When they arrived, the movers were incredibly rude, unprofessional, and straight up mean. There was confusion (Maybe it was all on my part) about the form of payment, I thought I had a bank check, but as they screamed at me, I guess it was not a bank check, although it was indeed a check from the bank and when I went back to the bank tellers they were equally as confused why Noahs ark would not accept it. (At this point my items were put into an undisclosed storage unit by the moving company as hostage until they received cash or I wired them money - okay, that's fair) 4. When I finally wired them the money, they sent me a document saying I had to sign it before they told me where my stuff is. The document said that all my items are accounted for and not broken, essentially. And I refused to sign it because that would be lying. I would be happy to sign such a form after I can attest to my items. But I will not lie on a legal document as they asked me to do. 5. When I called Robert to ask what this document was anyway (like, if I had a legal document to sign, I should have signed it along with my initial contract right?). Instead of answering the question, Robert then goes off about how this was all my fault blah blah blah. I give him the courtesy of hearing him out. When I try to speak to A. Apologize if he felt that "it was all my fault" and B. To ask him AGAIN what the document is and why I can't have my items despite paying in full plus the additional fees he tacked on for "their inconvenience". Instead of doing me the same courtesy and listening to me, he is yelling over me the entire time and then says he had a long day and hangs up.... not mature, not professional, and just plain rude. They are bullies. I have paid them the entire amount agreed upon including all the additional fees he added. And where are my items? Still being held hostage until I lie on a legal document per their request. No, I will not lie and sign the form. Plain and simple. So, 3 weeks later still no items. Then when John Ana his crew called that morning, they were right on time. They truly worked hard getting a one bedroom apartment into the truck in record time! Then they worked just as hard and fast getting my belongings into my home and up stairs! I had previous horrible experiences and this was by far the opposite! The guys worked hard and fast! DO NOT BOOK I booked Noah's Ark for my move from New Haven, CT to Brooklyn, NY. Martin was the Relocation Specialist who assisted me in booking the move and was extremely professional, responsive, and helpful. He let me know that he would not be working on the day of my move, but assured me that the other Noah's Ark employees would be equally able to assist should anything need attention. On the morning of my move, I found out that both elevators in my building were out of service and that someone had gotten stuck in one the night before. I immediately called the dispatch number, but could not get a response. When the movers arrived I let them know that we would have to rely on the stairs in New Haven (my new building in Brooklyn is stairs only, so they were prepared for stairs on one end already) and apologized even though it was obviously completely out of my control. This is where my pleasant interaction with Noah's Ark abruptly ended... The foreman, John, was unbelievable rude and employed just about every tactic to try to intimidate and take advantage of me. He first tried to get me to postpone my move, which was obviously impossible given that both apartments were rentals - my lease is not adjustable. He then said the price would be significantly more expensive because of the stairs and suggested that I'd been dishonest in saying there would be an elevator to use when I booked the move. When I asked how much more it would cost due to the stairs and how the move would be billed, he was vague and didn't want to give me any information. After much back and forth and him being noncommittal, I received confirmation from the dispatcher that nothing had actually changed - it was still billed hourly at the same rate, but understandably could take more time because of the stairs. Multiple times John then tried to tell me that my 1 bedroom apartment move was a job for 5-6 men rather than the 3 present, which is ridiculous. When he realized I wasn't the girl to take advantage of, he said, "it sucks to be me," and was rude and sulky for the rest of the day. The physical move was quick. It took about 45 minutes for 3 guys to load the truck and about an hour for them to unload, with two flights of stairs in New Haven and two in Brooklyn as well. When it came time for me to pay, he couldn't answer basic questions about the invoicing and got extremely agitated when I asked to make a call to the dispatcher for clarification. Martin must be the only reasonable human working for Noah's Ark because the dispatcher was equally rude and inappropriate with me on the phone. When it was finally over, and I tipped the foreman, he looked at the $120 that I'd handed him, looked back at me and said, "are you kidding?" He then went outside and proceeded to scream into his phone right outside my open window, saying that I'd cursed him out (absolutely untrue) and that the tip I gave him was bullsh*t. I've never been so uncomfortable in my own home or in a situation such as this. While I didn't back down in the moment, he very much succeeded in making me feel unsafe and threatened by the yelling, his body language and the way he spoke to me. Noah's Ark made it effectively impossible for me to use anyone but them to make my interstate move. They had the vast majority (85%) of my things already in storage, and I was consolidating two smaller locations and moving to South Carolina. They quoted me 50% more than any competitor for the interstate move, and when I told them I would be using someone else, they effectively said that they wouldn't be able to take my things out of storage without substantial charges that wouldn't be known until the day the stuff was moved out (I could not get access to my things to move them personally). After several days of back and forth and frustration, I finally agreed to use Noah's Ark after they discounted to within 15% of a competitor because it really felt like there was no other way I was going to get my stuff back at a reasonable cost without getting a lawyer involved, and I was extremely anxious to actually confirm the move. They came to two small apartments in NY to pick up the remaining 15% of my stuff. It was not a big job, just clothes and odds-and-ends, nothing significant. I stepped out briefly as they neared the end of the packing, and when I came back I found out that the foreman had pressured my wife into increasing the level of the tip to $320. Which would have been reasonable if it were for the full move, but it was for 15% of the things that they completed in a couple of hours. I had already tipped on the other 85% and was further going to be tipping again when the things arrived. It was, in any case, grossly inappropriate for them to extort money from her above and beyond what had been offered. When my stuff arrived, I was shocked to see that two guys had been tasked with unloading what it had taken 5+ people to pack in the first place. There were huge and heavy pieces of furniture that while theoretically possible for two people to carry up a flight of stairs, it was simply absurd to ask them to do so. These two guys absolutely killed themselves getting our stuff into the house, and did so incredibly cheerfully and professionally, but there was just no way for them to reasonably manage it all by themselves in any kind of reasonable length of time, so I and my two friends worked with them until 9pm just to get it done. There were an incredible number of things that had just been wildly and haphazardly packed. Furniture not wrapped or in torn boxes. Mattresses just halfway covered in blankets and plastic, everything torn. Half of the stuff looked like someone had hidden a bunch of food inside the boxes and then turned loose a pack of starving wolves in the moving truck. Small example: the most expensive thing I own in the world, a painting, was in a torn box without a label on it. The guys moving my stuff in couldn't tell it was mine so drove off with it still in the truck. When I realized, I tracked him down and he drove 45 minutes out of his way to meet me on the highway and return it to me. He was awesome. Whoever packed it and didn't bother even tagging it, not so much. The insurance claiming process was absurd. I don't even want to get into it other than I'm now 6 months into it and things like, "giant gouge down the middle of my $2,500 walnut table" are assessed at "cosmetic damage only" for $15 despite the fact that it's irreparable and is for all intents and purposes ruined. Broken things in boxes are disallowed because the movers didn't unpack them, which was absolutely physically impossible given the time they had allotted to the move. In summary, I wouldn't recommend Noah's Ark to my worst enemy. Unprofessional, criminally negligent, and operating as if their lives depended on squeezing me for every last nickel they could get. read more

Our move with Noah's Ark's moving "services" was beyond frustrating. -We regularly had to wait 5 days or more to hear back from our sales contact, whose default was to make excuses, tell me to do things that better client support would have been all over (e.g. "please call my dispatch at xxx-xxx-xxxx to learn more about shipping issues because that is what I would have to do anyways"...apparently the 20 K in moving charges did not include a point of contact that covered anything above and beyond anything you could do for yourself (for the cost I wish I would have done EVERYTHING myself and used Pods or some similar service as it would have gotten the project done much better for far less) - had to call multiple people numerous times to cobble together a flawed understanding of a simple action plan. -Move out went relatively smooth. A team of 7 or so workers loaded the truck(s) in relatively quick fashion and followed through on the plan that had been established. -Move in was a nightmare. After extended period of dysfunctional deficient communication we were notified of a move in date with little time to prepare. The move was scheduled to begin earlier than we would have liked. We rolled with it because we were eager to bring this unpleasant process to an end. I went to work that morning thinking that I would return 10 hours later to a furnished home. I soon learned that was wishful thinking. After returning home to find our driveway strewn with wet belongings, I discovered that the moving company had only assigned 2 workers to move into a 4500 sqf house. The movers unloaded the entire truck at once into the driveway completely oblivious to the fact that an afternoon shower is all but a certainty in the afternoon during this time of the year in the area we live. They did not have any tarps and they did not put down anything to cover the floors on the inside of our new home. After the down pour came, many of our possessions were soaked and the inside of our new home was soaked and soiled. -The movers worked very hard but they were not well managed. Two movers took far too long to unload the truck and they were unable to position many of the larger items where we wanted them. As a result, we were left with many items in our garage and many others disassembled and/or damaged. -When we called to communicate how poor the experience had been and express our disappointment, management was receptive. It landed on us, however, to file a claim and tend to everything that was done poorly. We paid nearly 20K for this move and do not have the time to manage a moving company's lacks and mistakes. Had this been done the first time around as it should have been we could have avoided this correcting and project managing their mess. I will update this review once the claim process plays out, but as it currently stands I can say of the 5 long-distance moves my wife and I have paid for over the course of the past 15 years, this one with Noah's Ark has been the absolute worst by far. read more

Noah's Ark moved my house. Aside from nothing broken and everything that needed to be dissembled and reassembled, they moved my 108 year old, 500+lb Steinway baby grand up a very tight stairway. It was done carefully and did not even need a tuning after the move. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a professional move. read more

Our relocation specialist was very responsive and quick to amend our estimate in case of any changes. On the day of our move, we had someone pack our kitchen for us and they were very quick and efficient. The guys who moved all our boxes and furniture were very quick and efficient as well - our entire move was finished way before the estimated time. They disassembled and reassembled furniture, and everything was in good condition. I used Noah's Ark for a cross country move from NYC to San Francisco. The movers and customers service is fantastic, but unfortunately they suck when it really matters: getting your stuff to you. We are still waiting on our belongings. Although they did estimate a window (understandable for such a big move) to deliver our goods, the window was pushed further and further out. I guess there is no incentive for them to actually deliver your belongings once they have your cash. The owner is incredibly rude, and yelled at me on the phone, too - which didn't help at all. Very disappointed with Noah's Ark. They made many excuses: weather, timing, cost, etc. The fact is, my family has no furniture and no belongings in our new house until they arrive with it. I would not recommend them, and wish that I had read what people were saying here and elsewhere before I hired them. read more

They wrapped ALL of my belongings, even what I had already wrapped myself, just to make everything extra secure. They worked extremely fast and were extremely efficient! Noah's Ark helped with a studio apt move from westchester to manhattan. Frank in the office very efficiently gave us an accurate and fair estimate for the move (I called 5 different places in total). All the movers on Juan's team were professional, efficient and friendly. All of our furniture pieces and boxes were delivered in the same shape they left. Our items were all handled with care. Esp appreciated is the attention given by the guys as to placement of items after arriving in the new apt....lets just say certain walls were a tight squeeze. I highly recommend Noah's Ark. Moving is a stressful event that I avoid like the plague, which is why I hadn't done it in six years. The crew was supposed to show up at 9am, and they did - right on time. They packed me up very quickly, helped me get my stuff organized, helped unhook all of my electronics so I could return the cable boxes, and basically helped de-stress the whole situation for me. I did not have elevator time until the afternoon, and they got everything done so quickly they were ready before we could even get the elevator. They were also very mindful of where I had stuff I did not want them to move out (my suitcases, etc), and even made sure that the stuff I had in the dishwasher - which was still running when they got there - got packed. I was - and am - extremely impressed. They started moving my stuff out at 12:45pm and were done by 2pm, and I had a fairly large apartment. I was able to clean up the place before I left and relax the rest of the day because of how hard they worked and how quickly and efficiently they did everything. I can't thank them enough. I expect that moving my goods to the new place will also be rapid and efficient. In addition, they were very affordable. I really appreciated their service and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I can not recommend Noah's Ark on any level. For starters, they didn't show up even close to on time on my moving date claiming a computer entry glitch. When they finally scraped together a crew, they came 7 hours late. They were under-manned and not staffed properly. When they finally loaded the truck in the dark, they left with my stuff. I moved to Texas and didn't see my stuff again until over 30 days later!!! Again, they showed up with TWO guys to unload the whole truck! Many of my items were scratched and broken. I was told to claim things on my insurance that they use. This is set up to make your claims virtually impossible. You go to work for them. You itemize. You explain. You gather the paperwork. You take the photos. You fill out the claims. Then you wait for months. They then reject most of your claims and ask for more documentation you wait...I still have not seen any compensation 9 months later. There are lots of movers out there. Shop and compare. This was not a good experience for me in any way. read more

they were fantastic i have never made such a large move in my life and as far as relocating goes these guys were great. the quote was on point and the service on both ends in NYC and yet again in Fort Lauderdale were great. i will take a little credit i packed well and all of the stuff arrived on time and in great shape. As one could imagine there is a reasonable amount of wear and tear. they were very competitive in pricing. one glass one clay pot one were broken one wheel on my vacuum was bent and i fixed that ALL IN ALL it was a very good experience. i would highly recommend these guys they came on time ready to work got the job done spoke english and actually were very nice too!!!! Horrible. Broken and ripped furniture, poorly wrapped, poorly loaded, taped directly on wood, made gash in floor, and had pay-no-mind response to negligence on their part. From my first contact with Keemah to the prompt arrival of Miguel and his crew to the follow up call I felt the move from Manhattan to CT was done in a timely and professional manner. These guys were the worst movers we've ever used! The head man bullies us saying he was told we had 1 bedroom not 3, and tries to tell me they can't move us at the price given, EVEN THOUGH THE cubic footage was the same, and there were 2 trucks outside our door. When I saw this same man rifling through our daughter's bedroom drawer, he became defensive, complaining the drawers were not completely empty; later we realized the drawers were suddenly empty of my daughter's hard earned money. The head guy on the job was a bully. The other guys though, were courteous and worked hard... BUT- It was raining and they did not cover the carpet or floors, left them filthy- the head man said "we NEVER cover the floors as then we would slip" He had me sign that I wouldn't make claims against any missing items AFTER things were in the truck... Holding us hostage... As we had 2 truckloads- and only hours left that day to move. We were left with a mess of damaged walls and floors... I called the company to complain about his bullying - and his carelessness. No response. The owner told me I'd be singing their praises the day after the move, but we were too busy patching, painting and cleaning carpets. This move was completely lacking in any sort of professionalism. We've moved many times, this was a nightmare. read more
