Since claiming was last minute and I was unprepared, which I was... didn't think this is how my items would end up... photo of my once white sofa that was placed on the ground with other section and multiple bags on top - not completely destroyed. Shelves thrown on top that are now broken and topped it all off by placing my king mattress - lot of room you will see to go up - blocking the entire storage unit and catching on door. Apparently they can't double park to move on my "narrow" street, that is a one way with parking on both side and even a bike lane. Several other moving trucks double parked - but they just couldn't. Received late and very rude response from Mike claiming the person that posted the review the day before was just lying and trying to hurt his mover. So if you have any chaos in your move and you use Minute Movers, expect some shit to get destroyed and be placed even more chaotically... and don't forget, they can't park on Brooklyn streets because they are narrow... They did a great job. They showed up right on time and had my apartment packed and ready to go in a couple of hours. They moved everything with no issue, and reassembled and placed the furniture exactly where I asked. For the price they quoted, it was honestly a steal. Extremely unreliable scheduling. On the morning of my move, I was told the original crew couldn't come and a replacement team would handle it. I had reserved freight elevator time and was repeatedly reassured the crew would arrive within my allowed window. The arrival time was pushed back multiple times throughout the day, until the crew finally showed up close to 6:30 PM, when moving was no longer allowed by either building. The move could not be completed. I had taken a full day off from work for this move. Fortunately, my leases overlapped for a few days--otherwise this would have caused serious issues. No payment was made, but an entire day was lost due to repeated delays and lack of reliable communication. Based on my experience, this does not seem like an isolated issue. read more

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They were helpful, patient and in the end fantastic. Our move was small but complicated (you know- getting a curved sofa through a narrow doorway and around complicated turns). From the beginning of this job NY Minute Movers were friendly and so calm. DO NOT BOOK NY MINUTE MOVERS as they are unreliable! I had everything set up with a two hour arrival window. When it was getting close to the end of the window, I called and learned that the movers will be another 3+ hours delayed. I found this to be unacceptable as they did not reach out to inform me and because I had elevator times pre-established. I had to book other movers last minute. Clearly they did not plan well, and it caused a lot of frustration to an already difficult process. read more

I used this moving company for an April move from one part of Queens to another, around 2 miles away. Their online quoting was plenty detailed but straightforward. They quoted me 3 movers for the job, but on the morning of the move I got a call saying that one of the movers got injured at another job and that our job would be handled by just 2 movers. They said they would adjust my pricing accordingly and that I would be billed at the 2 movers rate instead (this meant a lower cost/hour). The movers arrived right on time and quickly got right to work. Devante & Terrence worked efficiently and quickly and ended up finishing the job even faster than as estimated. That led me to paying less than I was quoted (win!). They worked very well as a tandem and took great care to wrap everything with moving cloths and secured necessary items with tape as well. They were also very professional and friendly even as they hustled to get things done. They took pride in their work and in representing their company. Due to our overall satisfaction with the job - and what we ended up paying - we will make this the moving company of choice for our next move. read more

Pros: The pricing is reasonable. Cons: - They seem to employ very inexperienced movers, which resulted in damages to my TV due to them storing the TV incorrectly. There were also numerous items they transported upside down. - There seems to be a lack of communication between the various employees - I was told three different processes for handling the aforementioned damages. I would recommend getting things in writing as each employee may give different information. - Management is very rude. Throughout the entire damage process, the management was very standoff-ish in their calls, and insulting in their emails. Very unprofessional. read more

HIRE THEM!! I've used NYMM 6 times in 8 years. They are awesome with an excellent customer experience. My first time using them, the owner, Mike D did the move himself. An Army vet who(couldn't have been nicer and more helpful) was just trying to get the business off the ground to provide for his family. That night he slept in the truck because he had another move in the morning. That shows you the determination for success and punctuality. Seeing his business grow from renting a truck to do a job, to owning a fleet of trucks with a great staff is awesome. Not only did they give me a wildly unrealistic "quote" that they later claimed was part of an "algorithm" that went wrong (to which they knocked $100 off of), they broke my digital piano stand which I repeatedly told the movers needed to be handled with care. JD, Saquon, Terrence and Victor were awesome. JD checked the circuit breaker panel because we were having an electrical issue at our destination home. Victor disassembled and reassembled Furniture because it wouldn't fit up the stairs. Excellent service and professionalism from Michael L. in sales. Very responsive by email and phone (they respond on weekends). Plus points for the customer web portal where one can upload inventory and pictures as well as chat with a representative or review the price quote. Speaking of price, very competitive pricing which was a flat rate and hassle free. This is my 2nd move with owner Mike D. & Co. and I will use their services again for my next move without a doubt. This time around they helped our family leave nyc during the pandemic to a long distance relocation in eastern Pennsylvania. Team did a solid job of social distancing at the destination and was very respectful of our sensitivity to COVID. They wore masks. Top Notch movers.. Had a kind of tricky job that required using a service elevator in an old warehouse out in New Jersey, in a very hard to find location. The driver took my direction well, arrived on time, was able to adapt once the elevator broke.. They were professional, proactive, communicative and intelligent. Where to even begin? Start to finish, this company was absolutely fantastic. I will break down my review hour by hour: *8:00AM Arrival- They showed up a half hour early and got to work a half hour early. Wasn't too pleased with them arriving early, BUT they got right to work. They were finished packing our things within the first hour! Also, the guys were outstanding. Very personable and hard working. *9:15-9:30- Travel to new location was hiccup free. We arrived 10 minutes before the truck to get situated and they got right to work once they arrived. *9:30-10:30- Unpacking was seamless. The guys were efficient and careful x100! Move was scheduled for 1pm. They delayed till 3 then 5, then 7 at which point we cancelled. They apparently had another client whose move took much longer than anticipated because that client did not disclose all the things they needed to move. It's one thing to cancel because you prioritized another client, it's another to delay incrementally so that I waited in anticipation and my entire day was wasted. The only reason I had to go with this place is because I needed a proof of insurance (COI) for my building, otherwise I would have just gotten a task rabbit. read more

Guys were slow moving and they charged an hourly rate racking up the bill. I'm sure other people are having the same problems with them. They charged me $750 to move a bed, tv stand with a tv from one room to another in the same house and then 2 couches and two small living room table to a apt less than an hour away! RIDICULOUS! This was by far the best moving company I have ever utilized in New York City and I have had plentyyyyy of moves. It would be a mistake to not ask this company for a quote. The team was as efficient as can possibly be in the rain and moving me down five flights of stairs. Very courteous and extremely considerate of your belongings, always asking questions on how you would prefer items moved or if you would like items broken down. Really good people who care about your moving experience. A member asked me if I wanted a certain large item broken down and I said whatever is easiest for you to move works for me and they stopped and said "these are your belongings what do YOU prefer?" VERY CONSIDERATE... which is rare! Great conversation and great energy, above and beyond what I expected during a time when moving companies are in high demand. Michael handled the phone conversations in a friendly and professional manner. I chose this company off of Yelp. Three man "A Team" led by John. The guys worked well together and kept a steady pace up. We moved 10 blocks from one bedroom to one bedroom. About 4 hours. I rated 4 instead of 5 because I don't like to be pitched for a tip. I'm a bartender - trust me, I tip. Sad to know that some people don't tip movers at all. That's why they pitch for the tip. Can't blame them. I tipped 25% of total bill. We had our own boxes. This was my first time sucking it up and paying for movers rather than doing it myself and I will ALWAYS book these folks from here on out. Only booked mover so my tv could be taken down from my wall and remounted in the new space. When we were 30 minutes from their arrival time they called to tel me they don't do that and that sometimes their sales team will say anything to confirm a new job. This is literal bullshit. I cancelled the service and went through a different moving company with better business ethics. Mind you, it was the moving team that specifically said to me "sometimes our boss's say what they need to say to confirm a job. We apologize for this." I scheduled with Man with A Van but Minute Movers showed up on move day. I used Man with A Van in the past and had a fabulous experience, which is why I had tried to book with them again. While the team of three guys were friendly and careful with my things, the move took far longer than it should have, resulting in my total cost equaling more than twice what I was quoted. I moved from studio to studio, just 7 blocks apart and the move took 5 hours. I often could see out my window that all three guys were just standing around at the truck and even saw them smoking near my things at one point. Last year with a two-man team from Man with A Van, I moved the same amount of stuff from Brooklyn to the UES, and it took 3 hours INCLUDING the hour-long drive. Not thrilled. What an amazing experience. (Who says that about a move? I do!) Michael (the owner) and his crew were outstanding. They packed and moved out four bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side and the experience was full of miracles. First, not one thing broke! Second, they moved us out of the apartment and unloaded in the suburbs of Philadelphia on the same day ( one day earlier than they thought they could do it). Third, the crew was a hard working, gracious bunch of guys - down the very last one. I was also grateful that they were very compliant with protocols, wearing masks the whole time, including unloading at my new home. Michael has and excellent operation going here. It was super easy to use their online tool to book. Any questions were answered in minutes but either Michael himself or Yexnarie. And my costs were completely what I expected. Wow - we LOVE these guys. They're efficient, cheerful and downright fun to be around --singing while they work and cracking jokes the whole time.
