Perhaps a department store would offer a few lamps or lamp shades but not the selection and personal service of a specialty shop such as King's. I was in search of a repair on a small but favorite lamp with some type of wiring issue.The gentleman, Danny, found the problem, repaired the faulty issue within 24 hours. The repair may have been fairly routine to this businessman but my daughter was very happy to have her favorite little hummingbird lamp back and in working order! My husband and I really liked them so I needed to go back to buy 3 more. When I went the first time, they were going through inventory and the curtains were not out on the floor. I asked an employee if there were any in the back. He said "Yeah but because of inventory we can't get them. I can't go in the back cause it'll be in a box somewhere. Come back next week." I was a bit perplexed - so you refuse to sell me curtains because of inventory? I've done inventory with stores before and I've never heard of this. Such a wasted trip. So I call the store a week and a half later to ask - the employee goes to the curtain dept to look for them. I try to give her the UPC# but she doesn't want it, she's looking via the description. She says "They're probably in the back and I'm not going back there. It's in a box somewhere. They're unloading a truck now so it'll be out soon." I ask why it says there are 5 in stock online? She says "Well it's probably 5 cause there's 5 in the truck coming to the store right now." Even though it has said there's 5 in stock for the past 2 weeks. So my question would be - how unorganized is it in the backroom that no employee wants to go back there to check merchandise?? Is it just me or is that crazy?
