Called Chris on an early Saturday morning because I looked up best lamp repair. I was willing to drive from Middletown to Providence because my lamp is extremely fancy (sorry for the brag) and I wanted to leave it in competent hands. He let me know he would be in my area and was able to fix it ASAP. Chris fixed my lamp quite a while ago now, but I was just looking at it and thinking how much I love it and thought I'd leave him a review! I had purchased an old lamp that had a unique, well-crafted style but was in poor condition. So I dropped by Chris's workshop. He put in new wiring (while preserving the vintage plug, by my request), straightened the bent lightbulb "stem," and even provided a little clip for the lampshade. He accomplished all of this within minutes while I waited. The price was very reasonable! I wish there were more repair people out there like Chris who could help bring old appliances back to life. This special lamp can keep going for another generation or two at least, thanks to him. read more

Chris completely rewired Linden Place's 1850's Buckingham Palace chandelier. Chris was prompt with his estimate, affordable for our small non-profit organization and did amazing work. Our chandelier is a very complicated one and Chris approached it in a conservative way and made sound recommendations on how it should be rewired. Work was done quickly, efficiently and Chris was always a pleasure to speak with. My girlfriend came home one day with an absolutely gorgeous vintage floor lamp, but one glance at the wiring made my brain flash the word HOUSEFIRE at a near seizure-inducing rate. We went to Chris because of the great reviews, and were not disappointed in any way!! We needed an antique Cinabar lamp rewired!. A family heirloom, recently given to us. We brought the lamp to his home, he gave us a quote, which we thought was extremely fair, said fine, off we went! He told us when we could expect to have it back, and he was a man of his word! I have had an old contact printer (photographic device with 5 light bulbs in it) for many many years. It worked but had some scary looking wiring. Took it to Chris expecting to spend a ton to make it safe. He could have easily ripped me off, I know very little about this stuff! Instead we had a great conversation about treasuring well-made old things, he replaced the plug and I got a new bulb for another vintage lamp, and it cost me very little!
