Small corner spot with very limited parking and seating, but they've been around for a long time for a reason. We love the food here, just wish the customer service was a bit more helpful. No one is rude. It just feels like they're focused on getting the food out rather than answering questions. For me, service is part of the overall experience. One example, the menu doesn't list ingredients for the shaking beef banh mi. I asked what was in it and got a pretty vague answer like "beef" and a few other items. When it came out, it had sour cream, which wasn't mentioned. Although the food is decent, the service was horrible. I stood in line and was told just a second, in that time another customer walked in and stood next to me rather than getting behind me. A different employee than before came from the back, asked her was she picking up a door dash order. The woman said "no" she totally ignored me and began to take this lady's order and that was so rude to me. Definitely won't get my business again! read more

One of my favorites but I came into a small fortune and blew it all at Nobi. The food as always, spectacular. I ordered the stir fried noodle with Sweet chili wings and to pork tacos that are the size of a size 6 in a woman's shoe. Stuffed with meaty goodness and topped with fresh cilantro, onions and their salsa all wrapped in comfort with corn tortillas and then wrapped in shiny foil paper. The wait for online orders is about a 25-30 minutes as it is a tiny kitchen, serving HUGE flavors. The place is always popping with guest enjoying their libations and soaking it up with the cuisine. Small, outside seating available with nice couches and bar tables to feast. I highly recommend if you haven't partook already. Love the ambiance, love the people. So easily said, the NOBi on NASA Road is one of my top five places to eat. On my way to a chiropractic visit I decided to stop into this Nobi, thinking it would be the same .....to my surprise. It was not. I got the bonme sandwich with an egg over easy. Which is and was fantastic.. as for the egg it was hard fried, no big deal . that being said, the staff was not nice and looked miserable like they just did a 70 hour shift with no break. No smiles. No good energy nobody was happy to be there and not great service. The bar is separate from the restaurant portion --upon going there to get a beer the bartender Basically sucked the "delightful, positive, Good energy" right out of my soul. I tried as hard as I could too, strike conversation and be happy but her negative demeanor almost ruined my day. I'm not gonna try with someone that just doesn't care that a new customers in front of her asking questions about beer I thought maybe it's me. Maybe I'm having a bad day but then two or three, what looked like regulars came in. Everything changed on the bartenders face giving out hugs smiles everything so I guess new customers aren't worth being delightful to. Well, well! I expected an asian grill that had plenty of soup choices, to include pho. However, after carefully contemplating their menu, I tried something different- a regular grilled sandwich. Turns out that this was no ordinary chicken sandwich. For $5.89, I received a culinary work of art with flavors of deliciousness that exploded within my mouth! Grilled chicken (tasted more beefy) with diced carrots, green peppers and onions, with a dash of cheese. Good gawd! Absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is located behind a gas station, and is somewhat difficult to find off of the road. I was originally referred to the restaurant by someone, of which I'm glad they did. The prices aren't bad, but the staff could be more social. I went to the counter to ask for a to-go box, one of the workers just gave me a glare while she handed me the to-go boxes. I was being polite, so she why did she have to look annoyed at me for? Not all their tables come with napkins. I wouldn't order water from Nobi Asian Grill. I don't know why, but their water was slimy, not cold either. GROSS!!! Nobi's location is in a small, cramped business lot. They're easy to miss. read more

The location is a bit weird. The soda bar is very interesting, sporting flavors like pineapple and other choices away from mainstream sodas. Overall, what brings the rating down for me from a 4 to a 3 star is: It's a bit expensive for vietnamese food. Service is on the slower side. Compared to its older location, which is not too far away. You are limited on drink options, and service over on Nasa Rd is top notch, and if I'm going to be totally honest, everything is a little less here in comparison (scenery, food, vibe), and it's only 5 miles away! Recommendations: 1.) I can see why the nachos are something to talk about. The chips are of the harder kind and thicker, pita chip kind. I lean more towards the tostinos kind of chip for nachos, but hey.. that's just my preference. These are still pretty flavorful with the char grilled pork. 2.) Anything with their char grilled pork is going to win--they do it properly here (but so does almost every other vietnamese restaurant). Just expect a hike up in the price for the vibes. read more

After reading the reviews I was really excited to try this place. I got an order of the the egg rolls and the chicken stir fry. I had higher hopes for the egg rolls but mine were a little soggy, I would have liked them to be more crunchy. The stir fry was pretty bland and I had to sort through lots of cabbage to find any noodles. The inside is clean and spacious I didn't have any issues finding a place to sit. The food comes out pretty fast and the customer service was great. I just wish the food was better. read more

Amazing banh mi! I tried the shaking beef and it was sooooo tender and juicy and they gave me a great amount inside of the sandwich. Although I waited over 25mins for 2 beef sandwich's I can say I will be coming back but I'm for sure ordering ahead over the phone. Also ordered the fried egg rolls 9/10! This is a type of establishment where you go up to order and seat yourself. customer service here was okay. we walked in and made eye contact with the worker and she didn't say hi welcome just walked away and ignored us. the worker added soda to our order and when i told her we didn't want soda she said i already took it off. but i saw on the screen that the soda was still on our tab and told her if she can take it off for us she said i already did. she gave me a rude attitude for no reason. We ordered the char siu fried rice and beef fries. the char siu fried rice had no flavor to it what so ever. we added sriracha to it but it still didn't help add flavor to it. it needed more soy sauce or something. the beef fries were actually pretty good. the beef had good flavor to it. this place is pretty pricey and you can get better vietnamese food for a better price and better flavor else where in my opinion read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered the pork banh mi. While their prices are not as cheap as some other Viet places, it's still a cheap lunch and the sandwich came out hot and fresh. The bread was crunchy, the pork was tender, and the daikon and carrots were nice and fresh. The size of the sandwich was definitely not small as well. I finished it in one go but could also see saving a half if I was looking for a light lunch. Service was pretty fast, and the place is pretty casual. Spent my time at the "Regale Beagle" which is the bar component of Nobi (attached). There was a wide variety of beer on tap, friendly people at the bar, and a knowledgeable bartender watching a 90's cult classic "Tremmors" with the customers. I ordered a sour raspberry beer from "Martin House Brewing" which was excellent. I also ordered the shaking beef with fried rice, which I've had before but never seemed to exceed my expectations. It's simply out of this world amazing!!! I also ordered the grilled chicken spring rolls, which I typically have at home after the fact because my niece loves them(she is 9 and will only eat spring rolls from Nobi). ALSO, the owner stopped in and sat with the customers for a minute to chat, extremely polite and wholesome guy. He's loaded with $.50 jokes and smiles. read more

The Food here is always top notch! My fiancée and I went here every Friday night while we were dating and always had a great time! One night we ordered cheese fries and they accidentally made nachos but Tony was quick to remedy it and let us keep both orders! The workers there are all great and we are good friends with a lot of them. The atmosphere is very cozy. It can get busy at night and on weekends but no more than any other establishment at that time. All in all a great place to eat, hangout and have a great time. This place was a big letdown! The lady and guy that works here aren't Vietnamese, so the restaurant is more Americanized Asian spot. I also ordered a glass of Thai tea, lychee drink and some chips. Since the space and tables only have two chairs per table in a fairly cramped area, we settled to dine in. Our table was filthy with crumbs all over the table and although the lady wasn't serving anyone she didn't have the respect to clean off our table though she did the rest behind us. Finally, our food had arrived looking so yummy and delicious. Key word: looking. But, as we bit into it, it was beyond bland, not fresh, and not very tasty. My dad gave off looks of disgust, my mum kept mentioning how she had better, and I was just angry that we had to pay $19 total for 2 combos of $6.99 and one just sandwich, $4. These sandwiches aren't worth even $5, more like less than. The relish of carrots and daikon weren't as fresh since they lacked flavor, I couldn't taste the pickled sweetness. Now, the chicken was freshly grilled, but that's all I tasted was grill tasting chicken. Nothing on the sandwich brought out WOWing flavor, this place is just a knock off wanna-be Vietnamese place with non-Vietnamese people running the place. Even the Thai tea, my parents said it tasted like penicillin and when I sampled it, it wasn't strong, I didn't taste like any tea. The only best tasting thing here is the prawn chips imported from the Philippines. My mum loved the lychee drink and my dad liked the maggi seasoning, but the sandwich to them was nasty. Nobi. What else can I say, it's the best place to get banh mi in Clear Lake... and chicken wings! I have been coming here for a long time, even before they opened their Pub version of the place (Nobi Public House). The location can be easily missed if you don't look for it hard enough. It's tucked right next door to a gas station that is also owned by the same family that owns Nobi. It has a hole in the wall feel, and I always loved places like this. It's pretty small inside, although I have never had the problem of getting a seat. It seems like a lot of people just get their food to go which is not a bad idea. Their banh mi's are good and my personal favorites are the grilled pork and tofu. Dont forget to add the egg for a dollar, makes a huge difference! The best thing to get here aside from their banh mi'sare the chicken wings. It is probably one of the best chicken wings (garlic butter wings) I ever had. I ordered 30 pcs of garlic butter wings for a potluck at work and it was gone in no time! Also if you are the combo type of guy, they have a sandwich+egg roll or sandwich+ drink combo which I think is a good deal! They have several other things on the menu like rice plates, I also like their fried rice a lot and its good with their chicken wings. They also have thai tea and caphe sua da that always go well with their food items. The caphe us da will also give you a good boost since its strong and sweet. The people are friendly and the prices are also reasonable. The banh mi's are $4 and some change.
