If you can look past the spartan interior with no atmosphere you are in for a great bowl of pho. Probably the best in the area. Both appetizers I have tried were great- the shrimp spring rolls (same with cucumber inside. Really added to the taste) $ the cream cheese wontons. Staff are friendly. Having said all of that this review should really be more of a 3.5 Every entree I try besides the pho had left me slightly disappointed. Not completely- just slightly. Everything was great. Spring rolls were on point and the pork dish I had was well seasoned. However, I pulled up a piece of meat that had definitely not been trimmed. There was so much fat on this giant piece, I literally paid the bill and left my food. I didn't complain. But, the fix is literally trim your meat and cut it into at least close to bite-sized pieces. I'm sure the owners would not have been happy with the cook. This happened in the first year of them opening so it could have been fixed by now. A friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint. It's a small restaurant, and looks family owned. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the tofu vermicelli bowl and it was loaded with tofu. I was hungry and also ordered tofu spring rolls. They were huge and I could not finish it all. The prices were very reasonable. Been there pretty much at least once a week. That should already tell you how good this little mom and pop is. The pho broth is super flavorful from hours & hours of simmering and it's a clear broth (takes skill and patience to make). Pho & More is the kind of local, family owned Vietnamese restaurant that you just KNOW is going to be great. Simple, yet well made Vietnamese food that is the perfect spot for a quick lunch or comforting dinner. This place used to be the original China Chef that was a Friendswood establishment for years until they decided to retire and sell the restaurant. But the new Vietnamese owners are great, and Pho & More is a great addition to the community. The renovations they made on the restaurant were much needed, and they really gave the interior a nice refresh. As for the food, it's a simple, yet homey type of Vietnamese food. They have your classics like pho, banh mi, rice plates, or vermicelli bowls. My favorites so far are their beef/pork rice plate or vermicelli bowl that comes with egg rolls. You can't go wrong with this, it has a heart next to it on the menu for a reason. Then talk about service. The food literally came out in 5 mins which is insane for how fresh, and made to order their food is. 10/10 would recommend this place for a quick lunch that's still very high quality. Enjoy! I was not very impressed with the ambiance. Despite the fact that it was a very small place, it could have been eclectic and more tuned to showing what the customer can expect. The employees were themselves having food when we came, but the hospitality was wanting - the one that attended us did not follow what we we were asking for. Despite ordering for a sandwich, I never got mine until I reminded and the way it was offered was as if I made it a chore, there was more bread and no chicken in the sandwich. regrettably, the price was very very expensive for the quality and I am sorry that I cannot provide any input about the food because I don't remember the taste and not did anyone. read more

The large pho Dac Biet is a special combination pho that has an array of meats. My brother said it was good & would eat it again! Originally with the combo I ordered the vermicelli but the server kindly came back & informed me that they ran out. So I opted out for the garlic butter rice instead. Tasted great! I walked in right at 11am and was the only customer. I smelled freshly grilled pork so of course that is what I ordered. The vermicelli bowl came out quickly and was filled to the top - a great portion especially for the price of $8.50. There was a large side of fish sauce that I suspect to be homemade by its taste and appearance. The bowl had a great balance between protein, vegetables, and noodles.
