As I have been to two other similar farms, I thought I knew what to expect. This farm experience was completely different than any I had ever experienced previously. Although the animals were beautiful in appearance, they seemed to only respond to the owner when she plied them with treats. They didn't seem to be trained to walk along with strangers, namely people they were not familiar with. I was especially disappointed as I had booked a private as opposed to a group hike. I will say that the owner was accommodating when the weather was not conducive to hiking; she allowed us to change our reservation to another day.

There is also a very nice gift shop to check out while you wait if you want to head over early. You get to pick your own alpacas and set off on the trek. There are some small hills, but nothing too strenuous. I have asthma and did not have any issues. Alex and Denise were so sweet, informative, and patient. Much like the staff, the alpacas all have fun and diverse personalities.

We each had an alpaca (two llamas) and hiked to to the top of a beautiful mountain with a great view! She led us down and we were completed in 2 hours. She is a kind soul who led the children around the farm and allowed them to hold chickens, pet goats, and observe a 40 pound turkey. She answered every question they had and it was overall, a great experience! She takes a donation for her time and it is well worth it. We plan to come back again in the spring when it is warmer and the view changes with the season.

The alpacas and all the other animals (peacocks, turkeys, doggos) are all loved and well taken care of. Elaine is kind, patient and interested in the folks that visit her. You could sit and talk for hours! Duchess, the beautiful white lady of the farm is a working dog and still sleeps inside with her family at night. I am so glad to get the experience of meeting lots of these beautiful animals in these farm. Woodland meadow farm is a working farm. The owners breed alpacas for business. They started with only 3 alpacas and now after 11 years of operation, they have 73 total of different mixed breeds. It is a huge farm that can accommodate all the animals daily activities. Alpacas are adorable, charming and friendly. As per understanding, alpacas are raised basically for their luxurious and expensive fibers. It is being sell per pound to turn into hats, scarves, blankets , sweaters etc. If at once you received an item made of alpacas fiber, it is said to be a precious possession that lasts years time. They are scheduled to be sheered once a year. During our visit, the owner let me dip my finger how much deep one alpaca fiber has , about 4 inches deep. Cool! We witnessed the love of the owners to these creatures , an inspiration to reckon with. Being said , who knows, I maybe farming these wonderful creatures in the future or may get one as pet. We learned a lot about alpacas from the owners during this visit. The farm is worth visiting if you have the love for these animals. Come visit the farm and get to experience a unique enchantment.

I was tired and hungry and a bit antsy from sitting in the car so long, and our toddler was in the same mood. So imagine our surprise when we arrived and found goats to pet and feed, a bouncehouse to play in, wood fired pizza for sale, a blues-duo playing classic blues standards, and lots of places to sit down and relax. It was just what we needed. It looks like they had other fun fall activities available as well.

I was just telling her why i thought Pumpkins were wanted. ​ she ranted at me that I should have called first even though I had already told her multiple times I would take the pumpkin back and I wasn't trying to argue. Katrina and Gary go out and beyond to make you feel welcomed and comfortable at their farm. They give great tours and provide an enormous amount of interesting information. The treks are a lot of fun and you really get to see the llama's personality's shine during the one on one time. The babies are adorable and will warm your heart. I highly recommend the seasonal llama yoga. A baby llama might just come up and smell your feet while you are in a pose. Wish I could give Dakota Ridge Farms 10 Stars.

I shared a very small room that had a bathroom with a toilet but NO SINK - we had to touch the door handle without washing our hands. The sink was on my roommate's side - no privacy. See enclosed picture. 2. My roommate had the tv on blasting night and day. I let the person in charge know that I could not sleep and nothing was resolved. 3. I was recovering from major surgery and needed to move around, walk, exercise... Instead, I was confined to a bed - not even a chair/recliner to sit on. 4. My bed was about 2 feet from the window - I'm enclosing a picture of the window with the dirt I was breathing in. 5. The food was terrible... Juices were always watered down. 6. No physical therapy was offered for two days - not until I was checking out. 7. No nurse care - no one ever took my vitals.
