I did not try the food, but the beer is why you go to a brewery. I tried 8 of their beers on 2 flights. They seem to do better with hoppy beers. The old reliable was one of the best pale ales I've ever had. The therapy chicken IPA is very good and unique. The cherry cobbler sour was very good, tasted like cherry pie but very low abv. The gnome for the holidays Christmas beer was ok, the hold the foam cappuccino stout seemed flat but I bet would have been great on NITRO. The Marzen was pretty good , reminded me of a better version of killians. Gone for the day was a piney ipa , not my favorite but only because I don't like piney hops. Well worth a visit if you're anywhere close and you like beer!

Great little brewery in Indiana pa. The inside has a great atmosphere. They have a great selection of beer and cider. They have board games and televisions inside. Free popcorn while you have a few beers is always a plus! They have a private parking lot to make parking easy. Will be back

Visiting Indiana throughout different times of the year, I was super happy to see that they have a craft brewery. This place was very nice and the 3 guys (owners) were super nice and helpful. The beer was very good. I have been around the block to many breweries and they do a very good job with there recipes. This place is nice to because it isn't just a college stop to get get beer. You ll see all types of people just being friendly and enjoy a good brew. Get the free popcorn and drink more beer. Ask the guys to play some card games Good spot to watch the Pens game

    Howler of Sweet Oak Stout

The craft beer here is wonderful! Try the Hop Hired Hand (saison) and Sweet Oak Stout (stout). They have growlers and howlers to go and the prices are good. They don't serve meals, but they have finger foods and usually have a food truck in the parking lot on the weekends. You can also order food from wherever and have it delivered, or bring your own. They supply board/card games if you want to play with friends. It's a great place to hang out and relax.

One of our favorite hangouts. They are family and pet friendly, their brews are delicious, and the service is outstanding.

Every menu item is like a hug. The cook here makes everything from scratch from making fresh sauerkraut to pickling their own gardenia. All the meat is local and freshly processed. All draft beers and cocktails are brewed in house. With 4 cocktail options and 16 different draft beers on tap, plus 4 non-alcoholic options, there is something to tantalize every preference and taste bud. Having been here a couple times now...I can say without a doubt my ancestors sing every time we order the tot, sauerkraut and corned beef appetizer. The wings are crispy and flavorful. The seafood is also fresh off the ocean. The service is personal and exceptional like having family serve you with food made from love. My favorite hands down is the Italian hoagie with au jus. Prepare for a happy food dance every time you eat here. It's worth the drive and the try, and I'm sure you will find yourself, like me returning time and time again.

The place is small, but very cozy. It was also super clean. The barmaid was a sweetheart, and we sat outside under their shade and enjoyed ourselves. I had a seasonal beer that is house brewed in collaboration with a cancer charity, and it was fantastic - great flavor, very fresh, perfect! My wife tried a bougie cocktail from the bar, and she enjoyed it as well. We had some hot pretzels with beer cheese and ground mustard, and these too were good. I need to get back there for a more involved sampling, and plan to do so the next time we're out that way. Based on our experience, this place is a solid 5.

First, the building itself is really neat! They give you the history of it on their menu. They kept the character of the original space and also added some fun touches (like an old card catalog used as a cabinet). The night I was there, one of the brewers was behind the bar along with my server. It was interesting chatting with both of them about the history of the brewery and the space and about how they develop new beers. I sampled a few beers and settled on their seasonal pumpkin brew. I really enjoyed the creative names and stories behind the beers. My favorite name is probably "beer flavored beer" The only reason it wasn't five stars is that the food could be a little better. I ordered the monthly special sandwich (which was Thanksgiving themed with turkey and cranberry sauce) but I expected more than deli meat turkey, I guess. A great place to grab a beer in a beautiful setting. I'd definitely come back.

Skip to the end to see my rating scale…read more Yough River Brewing hits the three things I look for in a brewery - food availability, outdoor seating/dog friendly, and of course the beer. Went here after golfing with a buddy and had a solid IPA and a pretty good Oktoberfest. The variety available is good enough that most people should be able to find something they like. A really nice outdoor seating area with a couple of fire tables and Adirondack chairs makes it comfortable and inviting. I happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and I think a football game was going on or just ended because there were a bunch of unsupervised kids running around the tables. Not that they were over the top obnoxious, but they were definitely distracting. Other than the timing, I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the beers were good enough that I'd gladly make the 40 minute drive down again. 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here
