So, I've embarked on a new rehabilitative path thanks to Noctua Diem Recovery Spa, and its guest acupuncturist, Moti Yahav. I've recently experienced some elbow pain and had an appointment with Moti to address it. My expectations for treatment were high considering I've had some prior success with acupuncture treatment (at a different establishment) for past shoulder pain. I can say that Moti met and even exceeded those expectations! I've never experienced an intake so exhaustive and in-depth. It was as if he even anticipated my responses from what he was simultaneously gathering through the examination of my complaint areas. Moti combines/integrates his knowledge as an acupuncturist, massage therapist, and athlete (personal trainer too, I think) to address my injury and symptoms from many different perspectives. His explanations gave words to my complaints in a way that confirmed and reassured me that he had a true sense of my issues. Treatment is a journey so I wasn't expecting (and yourself, don't expect) to be healed in one session. I just know that when I go back for my follow-ups, I'll be accomplishing something substantial towards the goal of recuperating completely. I highly recommend visiting! read more

Highly recommend Sulli for facials, I have seen her twice already for the hydro facial and will continue to see her for as long as she's there!! Sulli is very helpful, she gave me lots of advice on my skincare routine, specific to the issues I have (redness, keratosis pilaris) and recommended treatments and products to help achieve my skin goals without being pushy. She takes her time and makes sure she tells you each step she's taking and why she's using that product. I need a massage therapist with hands that can get in there and really get out the knots, and John has some of the strongest hands I've ever had. The spa itself is super nice--you get a steam/shower after, which makes a big difference when you don't have to leave a massage covered in oil. John is also extremely knowledgeable and friendly when it comes to answering questions, general body work, and pain management. I've come here several times--you can be quiet and relax into the massage with music, or carry a conversation if you prefer. This is long overdue! If you need a massage, look no further. John is wonderful and intuitive. He can find the spots that bother me the most and work them out. I have a lot of tension (work related, stress related) and after a session with him I feel like a brand new person. One time I was desperate and John was booked and I went to someone else. That was a waste of money, and I was sorry that I just didn't wait for John to be free! The spa is really nice too. There's a steam room if you're into that. Everyone is so friendly there which is one of the reasons that keeps me coming back as well. They also produce their own vegan and organic skin care products! I had my first facial ever here at the Noctua Diem Spa and It was a wonderful experience. Both John and Nory are professional and attentive and you truly feel relaxed as soon as you enter the spa. Nory took her time with my consult finding out about the details of my skin and what end results I was looking for and made her best recommendations for what facial treatment would benefit me most which was the hydrating facial for my dry skin. The facial was over an hour long and was so relaxing. They steam you, scrub you, and then go in one by one manually extracting and imperfections in your skin. And then she put on an amazing smelling face mask and I was allowed to just lay and relax until It was time to remove It. As all of this is going on Nory was constantly communicating with me to make sure I was okay and had pleasant calming sounds on in the background. After the facial I was offered hot tea and was able to relax until I was ready. Another customer was just finishing up her time in the steam room and highly recommended I try a massage with John on my next visit. I left feeling calm and relaxed and very satisfied with my experience and will be making that return appointment with John and they have a loyal customer in me. read more

Where do I begin? I wanted a facial today and didn't think I could book anything, luckily Nocturna had an opening. It was walking distance from me so I thought "great! I'll go there" the spa is in Ridgewood, I walked to the spa and was pleasantly surprised by the entrance. It was so cute,clean and welcoming. The staff was super sweet, the spa was clean, cozy, and felt safe (COVID wise, staff wore mask and my esthetician wore a mask and a shield. I have both of my COVID vaccines so I felt super comfortable) I forgot my esthetician's name but she was great. She taught me so much while she did my facial. All their products are vegan, are made by them and smelled great. I had a facial with an extraction and the price was super reasonable. I bought their moisturizer and face wash, which was packaged super cute and they included a gift which was surprising and lovely all at the same time. I left there feeling super relaxed, my skin felt and smelled amazing, and I felt like I left another world (I say that cause I live in bushwick and this place felt like another planet). I have already recommended this place to 4 girlfriends and I will definitely be coming here again. read more

Really excellent massage from holistic mind-body-health gent. I didn't ask but he didn't seem interested in women... so if you're looking for someone who is STRONG but also safe, look no further. He knew a lot about sports massage/therapy which is good if you have any injuries, regardless of your own level of fitness. I also got the Cats Claw & Arnica oil from here - all products made by the main guy as well - as someone who uses a lot of arnica in my practice, this stuff is great. I'm bad with names and this was months ago but I highly recommend. The best massage you will ever have! I had many massages from you asian "body rub" to proficional massages and this is by far the best massage therapist I have ever met. John listens throughly as I explain what my problem areas are and focuses on this during the massage. I have a number of issue (neck pain, low back pack, plantar faciatis, etc) and John takes the time to show me stretches and exercises I can do to help....and they always work! A great experience from start to finish. John has incredible intuition as a massage therapist and tailors each massage to what he feels in your body that day. Instead of focusing on doing the exact same things bilaterally, he notes how different areas show different types of stress and strain and treats accordingly. Including 15 minutes in the (very clean!) steam room and rainfall shower at the end is fantastic and really helps to make sure everything is nice and loose. I've decided to make a monthly massage with John part of my routine because the results I feel afterwards help me at work, where my job is very taxing on my hands, shoulders, and neck. While a monthly massage is certainly not an inexpensive habit, the services at Noctua Diem are very fairly priced and downright cheap compared to what you would pay for a similar experience in Manhattan, and certainly worth the precautionary measure against needing to take disability. My ONLY teeny tiny issue is that the door to the steam room stays unlocked and doesn't close all the way so I have this irrational fear of someone barging in, but that's really more of a me problem. read more

I live around the neighborhood and decided to check this place out. I notice there was a mind and body massage. The mind portion of the massage is called Reiki in which focuses on the body, spiritual and emotional connection. It brings a sense of peace helps one release things they want to let go. I had such a wonderful experience thank you to Barbara for making me feel like a new better version of myself. Barbara was very informative, kind and understanding. I've been a client for about six months now and I plan on continuing to be a client for as long as I am in New York. I've had my fair share of masseuses and none of them have been as effective as John. During my first visit, I was asked extensive questions about what my body needed. I was specific about the sensitivity of my knee post surgery and my chronic foot problems. I stand on my feet all day at work. John is very friendly, but most of all he is knowledgeable. I work in retail and what impresses me most about how a business is being managed is their competence and execution. I told John what my ailments were, and sometimes they change with every visit, and he addresses them immediately. I also booked a spa day for a friend's bday and it was everything we needed it to be: intimate, relaxing and fun! My friend and I alternated getting massages and using the steam room. John and his staff also arranged a lounge area for us while we drank wine and snacked. I appreciate the coziness of the location. It's small, but welcoming and intimate. Most spas that are bigger in space and staff usually come with a lot of guests. I like being able to book a time slot and being the only person in the spa for that time slot. That's not always the case because they do offer multiple services. If you are looking for a relaxing day, self-care day with a great and knowledgeable staff without paying obscene Manhattan prices, come to Noctua Diem.
