We have had pizza here a few times and it's very good. We love the Bee Sting. Our son visited last fall so we took him, very excited for him to try and they were out of pepperoni. Understandable, things happen, so we left. Today our son was here so we tried again. We called to order pick up & got a recording...twice. Decided to order online & that failed after 3 tries. Finally we just drove there and...they didn't have pepperoni. Ugh. We went to Culver's. We want to support local. I'm not sure how special the pepperoni that they use is but if I owned this business I would drive to Lou's & buy some pepperoni! My family and I were in town for graduation and decided to stop in and get breakfast as the reviews were promising. So glad we did! The food and service were excellent! We had the croissant sandwich, breakfast burrito, and the kids had pancakes and sausage. It was a nice touch that the pancakes came shaped as Mickey Mouse. This is such a great spot in Norfolk! I can't believe it took me this long to go out and try it. I have had their pizza before at the farmers market a while ago and it still tasted amazing! They have great brunch options and it brings such a peaceful vibe in downtown Norfolk. The waiters were very friendly and even gave some of their favorite suggestions. First of all, give yourself time if you're planning on sitting in and eating. It takes time to get your food. Just be realistic that this isn't a quick in and out shop. Honestly the prices are more than acceptable and the food is tasty. I love that you can see what's going on in the kitchen while you wait and literally the food is pulled from the fire, sliced, and put in front of you. Service was awesome. Our waitress was charming and engaging. She gave great recommendations. I stuck with a Margherita pizza and my friend had the Fungi. The only thing I wish could be fixed is a more ceramic/darker tinting on the windows. That summer sun gets hot and can feel pretty intense while you're waiting. Even though they keep it pretty comfortable in there, that direct sunlight makes a difference if you're sitting in it. Overall 10/10. I think this is a great place for dates or just friends gathering and everything else. So happy to be able to experience the food! I think you'll like it too. read more

The pizza is terrific. So is the cheesy garlic bread. However, we absolutely did not get anything we ordered in a timely manner. We were there early on a Friday evening. Yes, most of the tables were filled. Three servers were working. We had to flag down a server to take our order and then waited an hour to get our food. In that time the servers forgot our bread order (it finally came after we asked about it three times). They also delivered the orders of three groups who came in after we did and delivered at least five or six to go orders. Most irritatingly, our server seemed to forget about us: we had to stop her to ask about our order (response: "it'll be up in a minute." It wasn't) several times. When our order finally arrived, it was warm...but not hot out of the oven. I have sympathy for restaurants that are under-staffed but a little communication and quick attention ("Can I refresh your drinks?") goes a long way. Next visit...take out only. I just came to Nofo for the first time today. We ordered the margarita pizza and the carnivore, along with two croissants. We ordered the butter croissant and the almond Nutella one. If you are a Nutella lover like me, you will enjoy this. The butter croissant was also great. The pizza had great flavor from the wood-fired oven. This also allowed the top crust to get nice blackened bubbles on it. I wish the bottom crust would have been crisper. It was decently floppy and a little chewy. It was still very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and very accommodating to our needs. She checked on us regularly, but not overly intrusive. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and beautiful. I would not recommend sitting near the large windows, as there are no curtains to stop the sun from heating you up a good deal. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time at Nofo, and would definitely recommend any pizza or pastry lover to give this place a try! read more

This place has great food, no question, but they need to get their act together with service. I have walked in and stood, waiting for someone to greet or acknowledge me while staff stand around talking. I watched the staff tell someone that their order was already picked up and start making a new one, then finding the pizzas sitting on the counter where they had been waiting for pickup. I have had trouble with their online order portal again and again. And when doing a fundraiser that was surely going to make them very busy, they had few staff who were working very slowly. When I called in, they said the order would take 15-20 minutes. When I arrived and waited to be helped for 10 minutes, I found out it hadn't been started and would be "10 more minutes" which means ?? 15? 20? Numerous times I have been disappointed with their service, which is too bad, because the food is so good! read more
