I love going to Noggin- I feel so seen and heard here- the vibe is just really comforting but professional. I had been going to a well known chain salon for years but the service started to really decline- and then one day I tried Noggin, which turned out to be a true gift. Britt is the BEST colorist and stylist I have ever had. She not only skilled and truly amazing at her job- she is intuitive, and gives amazing recommendations with so much kindness and precision. I have since sent my mom and daughter to see her, and they have been just as happy as I have. If anyone ever asks me what they should do with their hair- I tell them to go see Britt! That being said, any interactions that I have had with others like Micah and Melanie are super friendly and helpful. When you walk in, you really feel welcomed and taken care of! Noggin Salon is awesome! I called them the day before my baby shower and they were able to squeeze me in morning of my shower to style my hair. They were super reasonably priced (I was quoted $70+ at multiple local salons ). Micah (I'm not sure if I spelled that right!) did my hair on the morning of my shower and did a phenomenal job. He made me look so good and I got so many compliments on how nice my hair looked. Noggin Salon will definitely be my go-to for getting my hair styled from now on! read more

This was my first time visiting this salon, and I was not disappointed! I was visiting for my moms wedding! She comes to this salon often, and swears by them! She made me, my sister and herself appointments for last Saturday. (Note: by sure if they always have fruit ready for customers, or if it was special for my mom. Either way, it was very nice of them!) When we walked in, we were greeted with a platter of tasty fruit that we were welcome to munch on during our appointments. Shortly after we came in and sat down, we were also offered, tea, water coffee or mimosas. Of COURSE I went for an early morning mimosa! (It's never too early for mimosas!) My sister and I were getting our hair all done up and pretty, and our mom was getting her hair done and makeup. All the people that were there were so friendly, professional good at what they do and fun. Even though I have only been there one time, I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone that needs their hair done for any reason! Noggin is an excellent salon. I've been coming here for about 5 years. Initially I came to help correct a terrible cut and color but have stayed and will be a return client for as long as they are open. Ryan is truly an expert at her craft. She has always given me outstanding haircuts that look great as they grow out. She is also very personable and kind. I also had my hair done at the salon for my wedding and they allowed me to reserve the salon for my friends and family to have their hair styled as well. Could not recommend more. read more

It was my first visit to Noggin Salon. I had an appointment at 4:45 pm, and I was on time; when I walked out of the salon and turned engine in my car, clock showed 5:12 pm, so I spent total of 27 min including wetting the hair, haircut itself, styling (which I asked not to do), waiting for receptionist to finish with another client, spinning the wheel of fortune, paying for the service and walking back to the car. As for the haircut itself, Danny was pleasant and very nice but when I noticed that hardly any hair was cut off (I have a short pixie), I specifically asked to cut it shorter but it was not accomplished. I walked out with the same length on the top as I walked in. $60 (plus $10 cash tip) for a 20 min haircut is a bit extreme in my personal opinion. I was told that I can stop by for a little trimming, if needed. The whole experience was very disappointing. read more

I was a little nervous to try this salon based on some of the more recent reviews that complain about costumer service or availability of appointments. I went here for my first cut and color about a week ago and I am so glad that I didn't listen to the other reviewers. The customer service and overall experience was great! The salon feels modern and they use Davines products (which I love). I was able to get an appointment time that fit my schedule. I went for a pretty drastic change I cut and color (an att.empt to repair some damage done from years of blonde highlights). I was completely comfortable and confident the entire time. I am so pleased with the results!! I even scheduled appointments for both of my younger daughters. They have been wonderful for all ages Please don't hesitate to give this salon a try!! read more

I recieve so many compliments on my hair after getting spoiled by Ryan! She is a color genius! I have been seeing Ryan for years, and I'm am absolutely thrilled that she and Laura opened up their own salon! The salon is in a great location in Libertyville right by Wildberry. The salon itself is very spacious and comfortable with friendly and down to earth staff. They use Davines products which leaves your hair soft, silky smelling good all day! My husband and I both love our stylist Kristyne. She is very good at understanding what kind of look we are going for (sometimes we like to change things up) and producing it. Please don't waste your time or money and just go somewhere else, you'll be happy you did. If I could give a lower rating I would. Notice how all the good reviews have been from a couple of years ago? That's because they found some regular customers and decided they didn't need to do anything to keep them. Well guess what, there are many other salons out there with friendly and humble staff that I'd much rather spend my time and money on. Garbage customer service, extremely rude and unaccommodating on the phone and it takes at least 2-3 months in advance to get an appointment unless you're available on very specific days of the week only between 9 and 3. So basically not if you have a job or kids or any other commitments. The service you get is not special and very rushed. read more

Since going to Ryan I have been both dark brown and blonde and throughout my time with her no one has ever believed that I have my hair dyed. It looks so natural! I love noggin salon!! It's my fav, I see Laura and she does a fantastic job. I went in with box brown hair and after two treatments my hair is blonde again! She did an amazing job transitioning my hair, went a lot smoother than I expected given it being dark box brown! She also gave me new shampoo and conditioner and my hair has never felt better :) love the products she has and the job she does! Ryan at Noggin Salon (owner) is one of the best stylist in this area....PERIOD! She keeps me blonde with a gorgeous ashy base and highlights. No brassy tones, just a soft warm ashy blond which is not easy to achieve. The highlighting is creative and natural. Prior to finding Ryan, I lived in the Berkshires in Massachusets and had an exceptional stylist who had worked in NY City for years. When I moved to this area I spent an entire year trying to find a stylist who would give me a softer, natural blonde and not the brassy bleachy blonde I see all over this area. I went to the "best" up and down the North Shore and until I found Ryan at Noggin, I was always disappointed. She also has a great sense of styling and cutting. Last week she gave me a very casual arty up do complete with a braid. Everywhere I went people asked who did my hair. I feel very very lucky to have found such a talented stylist and incredibly warm person. Also recommend Kristyne, an up and coming stylist at Noggin. Plus, the salon and staff is super friendly and comfortable. They also use a very natural and not harsh product line. read more

I booked my appointment with Laura, and upon my arrival I was a tad worried that I was the only one there (12:45pm, on a Friday afternoon). However, this was the most beautiful blessing in disguise type of situation. I was warmly welcomed, and consulted on what I was hoping to achieve. Laura then took me back to shampoo my hair which was calming and relaxing (I love that the sinks have head rests in them so you don't strain your neck). We then went back to her station where she cut my hair to perfection. I have seriously waited years to replace my old stylist that moved. Since I was the only customer there, I took advantage of the relaxing ambiance and essentially meditated while getting my hair cut. Afterwards Laura made sure that I was a happy customer in saying that if I wasn't happy with it, to get back in within a week and she would fix it. I am highly satisfied, and will definitely be returning. read more
