My child was put in the wrong math class in ninth grade which caused a snowball effect with failed grades and audited semesters and the diocese, and the principal refused to give a letter of explanation because of course they don't want to admit wrongdoing. The institution is far too expensive for the huge mistake in course placement that was made. I am actually totally shocked and his new Catholic school in another state which is great is also in shock, but this happened and his prior teacher is also shocked of his placement. Don't bother to contact the superintendent or either principal they won't help and they won't answer or solve any of your problems because if they admit wrongdoing, then they admit faults and they don't want to do that. If you do go there just know the advocacy for parents and students is nonexistent because they don't want the liability. read more

Current parent and alumna of Nolan Catholic. I felt I was well prepared for college, except I personally did not have great study habits since even the advanced work came easy to me. Thirty years later as a current parent, I can say the campus is welcoming and allows students to explore their interests. There is a wide variety of athletics and clubs for students to join. Teachers and staff are welcoming and are available for students to assist with learning or help explore an interest. The learning support program and counselors have created a positive environment for my anxiety and ADHD child. AP and dual credit classes allow my child to excel and prepare for the rigor of college. read more

Had a football coach bully me for 3 years here. If it was 2020 and I had a phone it would have been a different story but this was before I could have recorded him doing it. He had some bad history with my sister and he always took it out on me. Would let the other players huddle around me and make fun of my hair, and my skin. And when they started making fun of any girl or guy I tried to talk to I remember him laughing and even said "you going to cry about it?" after I came to him for help. I told admin but they said he was there coach for a long time and that he was teaching me a valuable lesson. (Thicker skin). This may have been a true lesson but I was expressing emotional harm to my counselors and they just ignored it. One of the assistant coaches even tried to step in and help a few times, he saw coach making fun of me on the field and pulled me aside and told me to stand up for myself. and in response the head coach (duck jerk) off his specials teams so that assistant could no longer protect me. It was pretty messed up, Idk if he still works there, but I hope he was let go. Most teachers here are good but the school will protect the few bad ones to "save face". I do know that when the church was still involved, the brothers actually lived on campus, but they must have seen how bad it was getting because the left years ago. So basically it was a catholic school for a while but now it's just an overpriced private school. I think they still go to church but I remember my graduating class had girls get pregnant, had a pretty strong gay community at school, my peers were known for picking on disabled/struggling students. I'm only saying this because I got an email asking for donations, and it came from guy who literally picked on me every day at school and forced us to do things for him. I would say save your money and just take your kids to church weekly. They will learn to hate themselves and the church, if you send them here. Bullies are everywhere but here they are protects by the church, and they get away with everything! read more

I went here from 92-96. It was the most dreadful experience of my life. Having said that, it is the nature of high school. Home school would get a 5, Private Catholic School gets a 2. All boys/girls...would be 1. Now, this doesn't preclude he organization from excelling as a college preparatory institution. In terms of educational excellence, I was very challenged here. So much so, that I was 23rd from the bottom of my class of 246. If you've ever been on a glass bottom boat above a 16 ft long great white shark.....that sums it up. I literally knew everyone placing lower than my ranking and I was shocked. A fun thing did happen my Freshman year. Father Dave....god bless his soul. He was nabbed for soliciting a prostitute during the second semester. The best part; it was a male undercover cop. If your gonna go out, go in style. Point being, I wasn't the only failure at this school. I do highly recommend because the chicks were totally hot and to that end; I was educated to the greatest degree. I love my Alma mater. -the more I read this the more I wonder if it deserves a 5. Really though, who uses Yelp to gauge and catholic school? And then would you trust my opinion; that would just be asinine. read more

The most awful experience you could force upon a child. I was sent here by my parents looking for a "better" education for their kids. I can't even say it did that. I was singled out and humiliated by one particular religion teacher for being a Protestant to the point where after the Catholic Church child molestation scandal broke and I was in college I gathered all the articles and considered sending them all to her with a not so nice note. The athletics programs are sub par, the education isn't any better than public school in the Arlington area, and the surrounding neighborhood of this school... My car was stolen from the parking lot my Junior year. Their fix? An old guy sleeping in a golf cart that was supposedly patrolling the parking lot. Please think twice before sending your sweet Protestant child to this school, they will gladly accept your money and then take pleasure in making his/her life a living hell. So blessed to be part of the Nolan Catholic High School family! Teachers and staff truly care about the students and do whatever is needed to assist. Curriculum is rigorous and thoroughly prepares every student to be successful in their future endeavors. The behavior of the students to the teachers and their peers reflects the kindness and compassion for others that is stressed. Remodeling projects are nearing completion, which make Nolan as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. I attended the Open House last week and was very impressed with how well run and organized it was. There are so many activities offered and the elective choices are excellent! It may be an older school, but it's obvious there is a strong community within its doors. Both the staff and students had a lot of knowledge and love for the school which made it very inviting. read more
