Place is spotless .. everything labeled and employee very informative. Had everything and plus what I was looking for

What an incredible little country store this is. It is run my the local Amish population and most everything is hand made, hand baked or otherwise made by the Amish. The staff is incredibly friendly and actually wear traditional Amish clothing. The food selection of is amazing and meats and cheeses are like you are in France or Wisconsin. I bought so much stuff I might have to check a second bag to get home and it's worth every penny to me. This store is a long way off the beaten track and outside any city. If you ever find yourself out this way, make sure to check that little treasure out. They actually collect the maple syrup from the trees. The store is clean, bright and open. If I lived here, I'd be in this store weekly. read more

This place like so many other stores owned and run by Mennonite families provides great value and savings to the patrons. What stands out is the variety of items from food to fresh vegetables, baked goods, candy, canning supplies and arts and crafts. This store stocks my secret mix for sausage gravy. If I share the pic please leave some for me! Just add 1# cooked sausage and in 3 minutes you'll be in sausage gravy and biscuit heaven. read more

What a nice find ! This store takes me back 40 years to an old fashioned store with friendly owners and help. A wide variety of baking items....... Hard to find spices, candy, and fresh packed ingredients. The selection of Pennsylvania SNACKS ( CHIPS AND PRETZELS) are exceptional. Try their raisin and other homemade breads. The store was clean and roomy. Prices were fair. They custom butcher meats in a nearby facility. I will return soon... read more

Definitely top notch Mennonite run country store. We have one that is closer to home (Vernon NY) , but had to go to Lowville for something so we decided to check it out on the recommendation of a friend. This place is AMAZING. Bulk candies, spices, and treats. The deli prices are AMAZING (like $2-3/lb less than what I pay for the cheese I usually get at the grocery store!!!) Fresh in season veggies with really nice prices. Canning supplies were sparse, but all the stores are out of stock due to the COVID panic, so I wasn't shocked. I did get a few things that I was looking for. Their shelves look like they stock a large selection normally. Employees are very kind. Long lines (even for mid day on a week day) but they moved very quickly. We will definitely be back again! My son was thrilled with the bulk candy as you can see here! And this was only a tiny bit of the selection! read more

The produce is wonderful. They offer seeds, bulk supplies, deli, frozen, homemade goods, and it is all fresh and at a great price. The butter is marvelous. The bright spot in my day is being able to live in the country but also get fresh items that are reliable and people who are kind selling them is unique. They have wooden birdhouses for 10 to 12 dollars! They are homemade and even painted. You can even buy an individual portabella mushroom. I am so glad that stores like this still exist! The store doubles as a Mennonite shop for some items but I find them useful and so handy to have, like large covered platters, wool items, etc. Love, love, love. read more

What a great place to buy items in bulk and rare/unusual items that can be hard to find. Their prices seemed very fair to me, my wife and her grandmother. We were visiting her from North Carolina in the nearby town of Carthage, NY and was happy to visit a Mennonite store that had so many items! Would definitely recommend. read more

I am so grateful for this store! The produce is at a reasonable price, if I can't grow it myself, I can afford to buy the produce and can it. they carry all sorts of canning supplies. If I am at camp by myself I can have them cut 4-5 slices of roast beef or black forest ham lunch meat, just enough to use for one person for a couple of lunches.Their bulk foods and baked goods are reasonably priced and the pies are delicious! The prices here are much better than the other Mennonite store near Lowville. read more

Stopped by this store on our way to Harrisville. What a gem. They have unusual goods that you don't see anywhere else. We stocked up as we don't live close. Loved the baked goods section, jam section, maple syrup, and the cheese curd was outstanding. Cannot get that where we are from. Only thing I noticed was that the ladies who run it could have been friendlier. read more

This is the place to go for anything for cooking or baking. I get my cheese curd and croghan bologna here. Also, any breads, baked goods, canning ingredients, candy, baking ingredients and fruits, nuts and vegetables. Would recommend! read more

Thank you Nolt's for the fresh produce local goods and fresh cheese curd. I was able to buy fresh salt and pepper,eggs and non homogenized milk. Happy to shake my own. Potato chips from Pennsylvania that are cooked in lard, didn't realize how good this made the chips. Allowed me to put together my emergency sewing kit with quality needles, and thread. Who knew? This old-fashioned Amish country store is as good as it gets. It carries an extensive variety of food products, most in bulk, many almost impossible to find items. Prices across the board are lower than grocery stores. In addition to food/dairy/baking products, you'll find housewares, some sewing goods, canning supplies, a few toys. Nolt's is adding new things all the time so if you are visiting the Lowville area, make time to stop by. read more
