I've been coming here on and off for about 25 years, and it's still one of those places that just gets it right every time. Even when they're busy, the service is insanely fast and organized. No chaos, no waiting forever, just a well-run shop that knows what it's doing. The in-house burgers are next level. Easily some of the best around. We also grabbed the potato salad and mac salad and I'm not even exaggerating when I say it's better than a friend's grandma's... and that's saying something. I could honestly live off it. Prices are very fair for the quality you're getting, which is rare these days. The store is always clean, well-stocked, and just has that classic local butcher feel. Don't forget your bacon, it's next level! I've also purchased half cows and pork in the past, and everything was handled professionally, cleanly, and exactly how it should be. I've visited Millers twice in the last week. The first time was for some venison processing and was very impressed. The shop is clean, the processing is all done in the computer and the crew that brings out the meat puts it right into your vehicle. There are samples of their products to try. They also have many products to purchase even if you're not having the processing done. On my second visit I made sure to check out the other store. Fresh cheese curd on the counter by the register, a meat counter with a butcher on duty and fresh baked goods. I bought a bag of curd and a pecan sticky bun.... Both excellent! read more

Sliced Smoked Turkey! "Ooh- go to Millers!" My neighbor exclaimed as we unloaded our new deep freezer. The next day we're on the hour and a half road trip to find millers to stock our freezer. You already read the other reviews about their bacon & meats & everything and yes, all that is really great! In addition to the normal raw meats we grabbed a few pre sliced smoked meat packages for sandwiches or snacking. The smoked Turkey is absolutely amazing! It was gone before we got home. We moved last year from living in south Texas for 20 years and this Turkey is better than any bbq joint there! My only request if you try it is leave some for me! read more

Right on our way home, and everything is reasonably priced and tastes incredible. Their chicken is our go-to, and tastes better than anything around. Steaks and pork chops are also incredible here, and their shop has plenty of temptations for a reasonable price. We keep a pound of their bacon in the fridge at all times! We didn't hunt this season but their deer processing looked very popular (busy!), and that didn't affect their customer service or business in their store at all. read more

This store captures what it means to buy local. All sorts of meats, cheeses, baked goods, and more. They have so many regional products so your money will be staying here. What a fine market. Getting to be a habit for us. First of all, the meat market and groceries are exceptional. They do meat cutting and smoking on premises. Thursday is rib day. A full rack of pork ribs... fall off the bone... cherry wood smoker. $20.00. Friday is chicken bbq. The marinate is the best I have had. We buy the halves, and across the street they have picnic tables overlooking the river. Nice cool breeze. Under the shade of oaks and maples. For dessert, the homemade doughnuts. The jerked beef is a specialty, and their smoked bacon and sausage simply excellent. read more

I don't know too much about Miller's Meat Market, but what I do know?! You have to buy their dry brine for Jerked Pork, Beef or Venison. It'll be the best decision you have ever made. Having lived in Lowville for some time, I'm no stranger to the fair and the jerked pork that's served there every year using this brine from Miller's Meat Market. It is one of the most delicious things you'll taste. This is a dry brine, when put on meats, turns into a liquid marinade. It's so awesome! My gf and I have literally put this brine on everything except for fish. And it makes everything that MORE delicious. Our favorite to put it on?! Boneless Pork Ribs. After the brine goes on the meat, we marinade them for at least 3 days before putting them on the grill to be slow grilled. The result?! Juicy, tender, BBQ jerked boneless ribs. I have pics. I live in Milwaukee and they are more than happy to ship to me. My dad lives in Alabama and also orders this brine. We're giving this brine to friends and family as gifts! It's seriously that good! The brine comes in two sizes. A 2 pound bag with shipping is $14. The gallon is $30. The 2 pound bag, having put it on nearly everything we made, lasted us about two months. It goes a long way! We'll be buying the gallon bag next time we run out. So buy this brine and enjoy delicious meat. read more

The only downside to this place is how far it is from my house. The meat quality is spectacular, the staff is always helpful and friendly, we always find some new local treat to try when we browse. They do have delivery routes now, but the delivery fee is quite expensive if you're a small family without a freezer to make it worth it. read more

Everything I've ever gotten from Miller's can be summed up in the following sentence: "This is the best (insert product from Miller's here) I've ever had." In the middle of nowhere on a back country road in Lowville is this tiny little meat market that also sells the most wonderful baked goods, candy, produce, and all the food staples you need when you're in this lovely area in upstate New York/the Adirondacks. Last year was my first time here, and I walked away with slim jims (fresh, homemade, not even close to the packaged kind, though I still love those), beef jerky, and a hummingbird cake (pineapple, banana, nuts, and spices). This year, I brought extra cash so I could stock up on those slim jims - I got a few regular flavored and a few jalapeno cheddar, which are the best ever. They're also very reasonably priced - I got about 6 sticks for around $4. I also got a smoked sausage, which we threw on the grill later. It was fantastic - fresh, not fatty, salty in a good way, spicy, and it made my group of friends glad we got two. I got a bigger link, and it was less than $4. Since I wanted some snacks, I also grabbed a nice plum and a bag of assorted licorice sticks. My total came to around $10, and I was a very happy camper. Among other things, my boyfriend also got a strawberry rhubarb pie. This was literally the best pie I've ever had - and the best pie the other four people I shared it with ever had. Perfect ratio of strawberries to rhubarb. Just enough sweetness. Just enough tartness. Nice buttery crust. It was what pie dreams are made of. For $9, it was a steal. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the meat products, produce, and baked goods. Milk and other staple things were a little pricey, but it's understandable because there aren't many (any?) other stores in the area. Miller's Friday chicken BBQ literally stops traffic on the Number 4 Rd. Get there early because no matter how much they make it sells out! All week long, they sell fresh meat of all kinds, and some jerked meat too (their dry rub of black pepper and brown sugar and other awesomeness on pork, burgers, steak, you name it) The baked goods are always delicious - homemade donuts and pies are my fav - and they have locally grown vegetables. They carry bulk spices, snacks and jarred and pickled veggies of all kinds. Not sure if that's a north country thing or a rural thing, but you can buy wasabi peas along with you cheese curd and jerk burgers. Miller's products actually walk in the back of the building and exit the front of the store freshly wrapped in butcher's paper. The bacon here is my favorite anywhere love the way they slice it. Took home 20 lbs hope it will last until spring. The doughnuts are the best all round doughnut I've ever eaten, sure is easy to duplicate a crispy crepe doughnut, but try duplicating a Miller's doughnut. I have a camp in watson, we go to millers every time were up, always the best meat you can buy!. Their marinated chicken is out of this world along with their jerk burgers, home made sausage, home made bake goods etc. The friday chicken barbecue is on unreal! Knowing Danny Miller and members of his family since I was a kid. Miller's store is one we have shopped at continuously for over 40 years. The Millers have carried on the tradition of excellent meat products and other store bought items that were there for the enjoyment even when his dad ran the store. My wife and I make the trip there about four or five times a year all the way from South Western Canada to buy from the Millers. We would go nowhere else. Miller's is a unique meat market to say the least. It and Nolt's Amish Market are Lewis County's best kept secrets. Miller's chicken barbecue draws customers from miles around both by smell and reputation. Their slab bacon cut to order is smoky and delicious. You'll find rubs and spices for jerking meat here that you'll not find anywhere else. I wouldn't buy chicken thighs (frozen 6-pk) anywhere else: meaty and flavorful. All prices are reasonable.
