He proceeded to take quite a bit of time on the phone giving me advice on how to go about troubleshooting or attempting to fix an issue and giving me general advice that seemed super honest. THIS is the sort of business I can get behind. This is what will make me call here when I need something. It feels like a business that actually cares about synths and their customers.

By design these courses are meant for a group of 4 students. Just wanted to ask about it since the schedule was not up to date. But the person responded very quickly and checked in with the instructor to see when he was available to host one of those courses. Once I heard back I paid to secure my spot. My instructor was Daniel Corral, he was an absolute gem :) he was very patient with me, I have no music experience at all and was fortunate that I was the only student in this class. Daniel gave me a 30 min lesson every week with music sheets and things to work on for the week. I felt really nervous about taking this class since I'm an old lady but he made me feel very comfortable. I can't say I'm amazing now but I understand and feel comfortable learning the ukulele because of Daniel. I highly recommend this studio and I'm sure all the instructors are great!

Due to Covid, we've had class oudoors, indoors and on Zoom and it works just fine either way. Although in-person class is my favorite. Genna, our amazing teacher, is a professional musician who plays all over LA. She's friendly and encouraging. Class size is small so there is personal attention. My confidence in my playing is noticeably improved. Now i can pick up a guitar and I'm not totally embarrassed to play in a store or in front of others (thanks to my classmates). My chord transitions are smoother and my rhythm is better. Plus I've learned how to create a solo rift which I didn't even think was possible as a beginner. We play different songs and new skills each session so it doesn't get boring. The people in the class are kind and everyone is in the same boat so don't think you'll be the worst one. We share our bits of knowledge and cheer each other on. So glad I joined and I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons. If you're a shy player or need some structure to practice more, sign up. It is a pleasure to hear him play. And whether he's showing you his Bach (yes, Bach on the guitar!) or you're sampling his Christmas CD,which was so awesome I bought copies for everyone I love, it is clear he is a master musician and talented artist. He also performs locally and I've enjoyed his performance wherein he showcases his own unique style and original tracks that are truly out of this world, fun, energetic, moving and poignant. I've also had him over to record songs for me, backing tracks to help inspire me to learn parts I can play with others and to fill out tracks I create with friends or on my own. And, Jared's talent extends effortlessly into his ability to teach. He breaks down concepts into bite-sized chunks that have helped me to learn whole songs and even perform at a friend's wedding. He's taught me anything I've asked, when I've asked him to. And he's also taught me to read short-hand tab which has been so helpful in learning strumming patters and phrasing. I've put in work to get better, but I wouldn't be where I am in my ability to play - and perform - if it weren't for Jared. Jared was recommended to us by another family with children who have been taking guitar lessons for years. They told us that he was, by far, the best teacher their children had ever had. My experience with him has been great. His ability to connect with both of my children during their first lesson made everyone happy. He is wise enough to realize that kids are more likely to practice and play when they are learning songs that they like. So he lets them choose their own songs. When my almost 11 year old daughter tells him what she wants to play (and he has no idea what the song is--Taylor Swift is not in his normal play list, I think :) ) she plays it for him on her iPod -and in under 5 minutes he is playing the song perfectly (humbling to us!) and able to write it out for my daughter to learn. He has been reliable, affordable compared with our other musical lessons and other guitar teachers we initially considered, and flexible with us and our crazy schedules. Cannot recommend him highly enough, but 5 starts is all they have.

Chat then, and if I missed your message I apologize. Original message from when I was operating normally: "I just do one thing: Your synthesizer is broken, I fix it. Let me be totally honest with you here: 80-90% of the time, synth repairs are pretty easy. Usually some capacitor is shorted. I desolder it, put a new one in, now it works fine. Or a knob or slider is broken. I desolder it, put a new one in, you're good to go. Or somebody (no shame) used the wrong polarity plug and blew a voltage regulator. Same deal. Sometimes there are big weird holistic things wrong, and that can be kind of fun too -- but seriously, 90% of the time it's dumb and easy. So come on by and get your gear fixed the cheap and easy way -- at cheap and easy synth repair."
