Aside from the nice entrance door and frame, the outside of Non Solo Pasta looks like a typical business located in a small strip mall. The inside is simple and classy, uncluttered and clean, but most of all a quality Italian eatery. For a Tuesday evening it was pretty slow. The waitress who helped me was personable and treated me like family. She tried to give me the "everything is good here", but I wasn't having it! I appreciated her patience as we perused through the menu. I finally went with the popular Saporito - Chicken/Veal (I chose Veal at $35), Egg Battered Scaloppine. Vermouth Sauce, Spinach, Mozzarella topped with crab meat. For my pasta side I chose was spaghetti and it came with a salad. I was loving the Vermouth Sauce, it was sweet and not too thick/watery. The Veal was a little tough, but was better after soaking up the tasty sauce like a sponge. The crab meat was plentiful and fresh. I was kind of shocked they don't give you bread with your meal. I'm not a huge bread guy, but it's a staple at Italian eateries. I enjoyed a nice glass of a dry oaky cabernet my new friend recommended. They had a decent sized wine bottle/glass menu. I'm not a wine expert, but many styles were represented and it seemed like the management is on top of their selections and recommendations. Gave it a three stars since I never actually ate there and didn't want to trash them unfairly, but it was a miserable experience. Because of our schedules, we're late diners, always picking up last slots in good restaurants. Non Solo had fantastic reviews, and it clearly stated that they we're open until 9:30. We were excited to try it out. Didn't call for a reservation because it was a Tuesday, a very "drop-in" night around here. We drove the 25 minutes to the restaurant, a very nondescript if even homely facade in a disused strip mall. No problem, we're about good food, not the fuss. We arrived at 8:40. When we walked inside, it was dead. The only employee was obviously shutting down. When we asked if we could be seated, she rudely stated, we're closed. Kitchen went home. Now, this was a 45 minutes before "closing," and at least 15 minutes before most restaurants would stop taking orders, even if their "closing time" was thirty minutes after kitchen-close. When we protested that we had driven a long way specifically to try their restaurant and that they clearly stated that they were open until 9:30, she did not handle it professionally or with even the slightest notion of customer empathy. "I don't own the place. we're closed. The kitchen left." Her incompetence as a service person only added to our dismay. Overall, the experience was pathetic, unprofessional, "couldn't care less" awful. I'm really disappointed because I wanted to try it. I doubt we will be back. read more

What fabulous meals we enjoyed on New Year's Eve. I had a chicken dish wrapped in prosciutto with mashed potatoes and peas in a crema sauce, my husband enjoyed veal parm, friends had pasta with JUMBO shrimp and a beautifully cooked filet. Apps were calamari and a salad split among the four. We were stuffed and still had leftovers. Not enough room for a good espresso and dessert unfortunately -- maybe next time. Service was exceptionally good, especially for such a busy evening. We had an early seating and did not feel rushed at all. Almost forgot the "Italian wedding" soup reminded me of my mother-in-law's. Really delicious. Also, the furnishings and ambiance were upscale and charming. I was not expecting such fine dining in a strip mall setting. What a great find. It is not often that you eat out and enjoy a nice dinner with good food and good service. Non Solo offered both. The clams casino in a red sauce were to die for. We had to ask for an extra bread to suck up the remaining sauce. Top notch. My wife's chicken dish was excellent and my rack of lamb was superb. Every time I eat here I am more impressed! The food is simply delicious and beautifully presented. Served fast and hot. My favorite is the Rigatoni with Vodka sauce, it is the best Vodka sauce I've ever had. I buy quarts of the sauce to take home and enjoy another time. Today I had eggplant parmigiana, I have to say I'm an eggplant parmigiana aficionado since it was my favorite dish my grand mother made me as a child. It was light, thinly sliced and delectable. The bread was extra good today. I have turned many coworkers onto Non Solo Pasta and they have expanded the circle of customers. I hope it doesn't get so popular I can't get a table!!! Love Non Solo! We have come here many times over the years and always enjoy our meal and the service. The place is in a small strip mall but inside it's a very nice and cozy dining room. As far as noise, even when it's full there is no problem with noise. Now the food; you really can't go wrong! It's an Italian restaurant with many options. The pastas are delicious, some favorites are the Penne Putanesca, seafood ravioli(lobster rav with crabmeat!) and Ravioli DiRoberto. Chicken saltimbocca is delicious, the sauce is fantastic and the fish specials are always great. The steak specials are soo good my husband gets them often. The food is just really good. Always a winner - this local Yardley restaurant never disappoints ~ it's always consistent and delicious!

Sometimes first impressions are deceiving. So it was with Non Solo Pasta. Returning to the Italian shop after a few years, this time for lunch, I had a completely different experience. This time rather than order a pasta bowl that was off menu, I went with their standard melanzon parmesan, which came with choice of soup or salad. It was excellent. First, the large bowl of escarole soup was steamy and full of flavor, with white beans simmered to softness for added texture and subtle flavor. Very glad I went with that over a side salad. The eggplant was thin sliced and sautéed in extra virgin olive oil, without breading, and then ladled full of red gravy over the top. It was tender, light and delicious. So much better than the breaded/fried variety that adds more calories than taste. Easily cut with a fork. The side of spaghetti was generous, but truly unnecessary in light of the quality of the star attraction. I left most of that behind. My companion selected the caprese salad and the Caesar. The red and yellow tomatoes were ripe and mildly tart to offset the fresh buffalo mozzarella, which was soft and semi-sweet. Very well done and about the best I've sampled of this simple dish. Everything was well presented and a delight to indulge. After my earlier visit, the quality of this meal took me by very pleasant surprise. I will return sooner next time. Only downside is the lack of WiFi in the house, given how poor reception is in this part of Morrisville. Made it impossible to check in or put photos directly through Yelp. Still, managed to deal with that upon returning to the office. read more

We went here for a celebration dinner--what a mistake! They put us at a table in line with the door and under a ceiling fan on the coldest night of the year, but worse than that, the fan blades made the lights seem to be flickering. Southern Italian cuisine with a side of migraine! We asked to have the fan turned off and were assured this wasn't possible: " The guy would have to come and get up on a thing, it's not like I can just turn off a switch. Other people have complained." Well, maybe if other people have complained they could consider installing a switch, before someone has a seizure? Just a thought. At nearly $50 a head for dinner, you'd think they could get an actual electrician, and not just a guy with "a thing." We spent an hour eating (excellent burrata, chicken soup with undercooked ditalini in it) and freezing, while our headaches got steadily worse. I finally gave up and asked for the check and was told our entrees were ready--they weren't--and we could have them to go. By the time we got the food home it was coldish and not at its best. My son's shrimp scampi was rubbery and my pappardelle alla porcini was extremely salty and oddly sour. We would literally have been better off burning the $75 this wretched experience cost us. read more

We ordered for takeout the bolognese parpadelle, vodka pasta, tortellini, fried calamari, large margherita pizza, and a veal dish. Our favorites were the Alfredo sauce tortellini and the pizza. What makes this place so special isn't just the food but the care that chef and owner, Jerry, puts into every dish. It is rare to find a restaurant where the owner stops by every table to say hello and ask how the food. It is evident that Jerry loves the food he presents, but loves his customers even more. I can't say enough about the food here - everything is top of the line and fresh. Where else can you order pasta with clams and be given a bowl full of clams still in their shell, not minced up bits from a can? If you order from the regular dinner menu, you won't be disappointed. The pizzas are delicious and hot out of the brick oven. Each pasta dish will knock your socks off. The steaks are crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside. However, the real gems are the items off of the special menus, especially around this time of year. You will find fish that you can' find anywhere else and specialties like grilled, melt in your mouth sepia (cuttlefish), tender and sweet pulpo octopus) and pasta made with freshly cracked sea urchin roe. I've been coming to the restaurant for years since I work in Trenton, but I don't know that I can continue. They only have a single server working lunch so there were 10 tables, many of which weren't being properly served because they failed to staff. Secondly, they used to have a lunch menu which was more reasonably priced than their dinner menu, but apparently that has gone by the way side so $20 entree's for lunch. A hidden gem. Inside the restaurant is really nice; classy decor but casual dining. The food is amazing. The steamed clams were fresh and delicious. The gnocchi was a favorite with our kids.
