Today I hired Nona Rosa to cater my HOA social: Pizza & Pinot. We had the event last fall, but used franchise chain store pizza. This year, I got the last minute idea to do something nicer, and I'm so glad Nona Rosa was available. They were professional, affordable, friendly, clean, and even brought fun music. They provide really cute wooden tables trimmed in their teal brand color. But we also used our own tables to keep with our black and red theme. Most importantly, the pizza was a huge hit! All the residents were pleasantly surprised that we weren't getting the cheap commercial pizza they expected. Nona Rosa Pizza has a light sourdough crust with fresh, yummy, ingredients. The honey jalepeño was to LIVE for! But all 6 of their menu flavors were loved. There are even vegan &/or GF options. I helped organize a holiday event at a major film score recording facility in Burbank and we did a lot of research into the various vendors, trying to make sure we had the best possible vendors for the party, which was attended by 250-plus prominent and successful composers and first-call musicians. Jesse really worked with us to craft exactly the service and price that we felt would work best for our event. He was responsive and flexible, able to do gluten free pies as needed. The night of the event his team showed up right on time, set up a nice looking mobile pizza service oven and serving area (covering about 2 parking spaces), and went straight to work. The staff was great - efficient, friendly, great to work with. And the pizza... OMG. So good. They gave us classic margarita and good quality pepperoni options, which our guests loved, and then something different and special: their honey jalapeno slices, which our guests freaked out about because they were so unique and delicious. We hired Nona Rosa for our daughter's birthday party and we could have been more pleased by their food and service. They made 5-7 different types of pizza to appeal to the adults and kids. The honey pizza was just so tasty and the pepperoni was just a tad crunchy around the edges. The dough is the the MVP, it's organic and a perfect combination of chewy on the inside and toasted on the outside and not too thick or too thin crust. We got compliments from adults and kids alike. This review is for the frozen pizzas. Heard about this place from my best friend. Ordered some frozies which were delivered quickly by a nice guy named Chuck. Honestly I will never eat a store bought frozen pie again. Excellent experience and unreal flavor and texture from a frozen pie. These pies are more expensive then store bought pies but for the same reason a BMW is more expensive then a Hyundai. It's just better from the ground up. If the frozen pies are this good I can't imagine how good they are fresh from the oven. Going to use them for my next catered event when I am in the LA area. Another side note is that I am not a huge fan of a traditional Neopolitan margarita pie because of the fresh mozz which I think turns into leather after about 47 seconds. Here they use a nice mixture of low moisture mozz, grana padano and reggiano. If a classic New York style pie, a neopolitan style pie and Trenton tomatoe pie had a baby it would be this pie. read more
