The noodles are made in house and cooked perfectly, and the tsuyu had a rich depth of flavor. The tempura was light and delicate and also came with a flavorful sauce. They also seem to do sushi well, with nice touches like a brush to apply soy sauce so you don't overdo it on the dip. I had an umeshiso roll and it was quite tasty. The people getting real sushi seemed to be enjoying it. We also had a miso- beef tendon, which was on the specials menu. That was fabulous, super tender and flavorful. Overall they seem to do especially well at broths and sauces. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant with nice lighting and high ceilings. The service is kind and quick with water refills, but let us enjoy our dessert (sharp yuzu ice cream) and tea in peace. It was a nice dinner and worth the spend. We'll be back.

I've never seen so many variations in one place, and I've never seen so many temperature options. The difference between hot broth and cold sauce is pretty apparent. But I needed clarification about the udon itself. Hot udon means the noodles come served inside the broth whereas cold udon means it comes served sepatstely, and you're able to add it into the broth at your own pace and discretion. As someone who loves bouncy noodles, and hates basically all soggy food, I was amazed. Their broths are really flavorful and warm you up perfectly on the inside, the tempura is soo crispy, and the walnut miso is so addicting. Not to mention the servers are super friendly.

The waitstaff were lovely and spent time explaining the menu that changes daily. Started off with the chicken and soy along with the rump with ubon relish and they were both excellent. The chicken thigh was grilled to perfection and super flavorful from the marination. The rump was cooked to perfection at a medium rare and the flavors were on point. The chef that made this personally presented this to me at the counter. Amazing! The glass noodles were fragrant and tasty. I wouldn't order the curries here - the meat dishes seem decent though. There's a background music track but it's faint and you can only barely hear it when anyone is talking. The restaurant layout is very good for communal dining, but really bad for intimate settings. If I were a dating man (I'm not), I wouldn't bring a date here. The service is also extremely slow - from when we ordered to when we got all of our food was roughly 45 min - which, given how hungry we were, and how empty the place was - inexcusable and really disappointing. Beyond that honey chicken and all its glory (and it was glorious) was like 90 percent rice. Now, for the price for a bowl (£6) that's not entirely surprising but it was just so tasteless. The chicken was great, but the rice and everything else tasted like pure nothing. Next time (I'll try again, they are new) I'll get the chili sauce, but I think they need to rejig the formula or something here...needs a kick of flavor, stat. Otherwise, nice staff, quick service, well priced. Just need to kick it up a notch. That honey chicken is pretty good though. Maybe I'll just get a bowl of that next time.
