Not much to look at from the outside, but in you find it to have a room reception area to go along with a roomier dinner room filled with tables. Service was decent, they were busy on the phone and with other patrons, luckily the cooks were active in bringing out food. Food-wise - delicious and pleasantly surprised. Though the fried rangoons we usually get aren't as crispy as these were - they were stuffed with crab meat - something I haven't experience in quite some time. I ordered their Special Kare which was a big plate of food, delivered hot and plentiful of beef, prawns (as they call shrimp over here) and veggies. No complaints. When the plate, yup...not a bowl, arrived (don or donburi literally means "bowl" in Japanese) I knew this was not going to even be close to traditional Katsudon. There was no broth. The broth is critical to create the sweet and umami flavor of Katsudon. It is traditionally made with dashi, soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar in a shallow pan called a donburi pan. The rice, egg and pork were all separated on a plate. The pork was overly deep fried to extra crispy and drizzled with Tankatsu sauce. So, no bowl, no broth to soak into the breading of the pork and wrong sauce...nope, not even close to the flavor of traditional Katsudon, so I cannot recommend this item. Anyway, the sushi was okay. Food was top notch with all the old classics of Green Thai Curry, coconut rice, and Pad Thai turned out very well. The ingredients seemed fresh and well sourced. The spice level was just right i.e. not to hot to burn your lips but strong enough to get you glowing. The waitresses were charming and very pleasing on the eye. All in all a good night had by all. I strongly recommend it.
