Quite a solid Japanese inspired place. Not that I'm an expert but it isn't really an authentic Japanese joint - it seems to have a fair amount of Korean and South Asian influence with a lot of the flavours. But no complaints here. I can't give 5 stars because it just doesn't hit the mark that I've had at other ramen and Japanese restaurants. But it's close. The appies and shareables are great value and where I found the best punches of flavour. I think if we come back to a Wagamama we'll just focus on those. read more

I love this restaurant chain! I ate here on my last night of being in England after studying there and I could not have chosen a better place to dine with my friends. They didn't have the salmon croquettes that I liked so much in one of the London establishments, but they did have the chocolate wasabi cake which I will never forget. read more

Firstly, i would like to say that the staff at this resturant are extremely productive and friendly towards everybody, henceforth, the food is high quality and you can see how they prepare and cook the food. The food is quick to be prepeared and taste amazing. Wagama also supports vegetarian and vegan choices. The building itself is a well built and secure place to be. In my opinion, this resturant is one of the best in cantebury and anyone in the local area should attend there. read more

My first time eating at a Wagamama was in London. I told myself never again. And then a couple of friends in Canters haven't tried it before and I wasn't going to throw a fit so I went along with the plan. Who knows, maybe this time it'll be passable. Are you kidding me?? Consistent, fresh, reasonably priced and brilliant if you have children. We went here for lunch on Saturday and I was really impressed overall. We had a 2 year old with us and I was amazed at how geared up for children they are - they have junior chop-sticks which are great and a good menu for kids. We had a range of dishes between the four of us. The chilli squid really stood out from the starters we had, very fresh with a light batter and zingy dipping sauce. Always great consistent food and service. I use their take away service all of the time and have never once been disappointed - it's a healthy alternative to the other fast food chains out there! Their katsu curry is to die for and the chilli beef ramen is a close second. This is the worst Wagamama I've ever been to. I used to live here and have been a number of times, every time I promise myself I'll never go back. HOW can it be so bad? The stock for the ramen is always watery and flavourless as hell, the curries taste of curry powder and nothing else and they're always out of at least 2 dishes on the menu. Popped in here on a flying visit to the city, but wish I hadn't! Since starting on sushi diet I had been doing well but the experience of this paticular branch has not helped my transition. I enjoy choosing Wagamama whenever I come to high street for some general window shopping. The food is good as well as the service. There was a notable occasion that I must compliment the service. I came here two months ago ordering a 'Cha Han'. I had one bite and felt that the rice was different, the rice was more moist than usual. I asked the waiter if they had changed their rice cooker/ whether it was broken. He knew that I knew what I was talking about and he answered my question saying that it broke over the weekend and they had to replace it with an old one temporarily, I asked if I could have a noodle dish instead. Service was efficient. At the end as I was getting ready to pay for the meal I read the check and noticed that he hadn't charged me for the Rice and the Noodle dish. I expressed my thank you's to him and the manager and they replied with more apologies and smiles. Other than that the Fresh Fruit Juices are amazing! Please give them a try, you won't regret it. read more

Although it is not really unique dining experience and some people would say that chain restaurants are not really great - have to admit we love Wagamama - service is always friendly and relaxed and the food is very decent quality. The staff was really chatty and knew all answers on the questions my wife had regarding some of the dishes. Not maybe the best place for romantic dinner - but a great one for a quick good quality meal. read more

One thing that I haven't been able to get over the few times I've been there is some of the staff just aren't 5/5, and often I feel like they're doing a job rather than providing a service. Definitely my favourite chain restaurant and a great place for a quick lunch. The food is fresh and tasty and no raw fish in sight! The staff in every branch I have visited have been friendly and the restaurants are spotless. Love a trip to Wagas. The vegan menu is fab and unlike many other places that provide "vegan" options, they don't just take out the non vegan elements, they replace them. That way you don't leave the place feeling hungry. Only negative aspect about all wagas IMO is that it can get TOO noisy, making it hard to have a good chat with your friends/family, which can in turn hinder the experience. However, if you like the kind of hustle and bustle of it all then it's not an issue - just a little gripe I have. read more

I've eaten here a number of times in the past, no matter what time of day or how busy it was the service was fast and efficient. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Of the dishes I've tried, and also what my friends have tried here, we all greatly enjoyed. On one occasion when myself and my friends were eating in a large group, we were given a main course between us as a started on the house. Have been here multiple times with friends and family, is a chain but with extremely friendly and helpful staff. As I think others have suggested I recommend the chilli squid, not extremely spicy but definitely a highlight. In fact, the side dishes are all pretty good - perfect for ordering several to share with a small group, and some very interesting items on the side dish menu. I usually order some variation on the udon mains which never disappoint, lovely thick noodles; I'd heavily suggest you try one of the raw juices they offer also, despite (because of?) being just pure fruit and vegetable juices they taste incredible. I find the food at Wagamamas quite bland and over-priced given that you have to sit on a bench, however you can't knock the atmosphere and liveliness of the restaurant which makes it so popular. When I went to Wagamama Ltd in Canterbury the service was terrible, for example the waitresses were rude, very slow and miscalculated our bill!! The food however was good although poorly presented. We liked the fact that you could see the chefs cooking in the kitchen but we didn't like the way the tables were set out. However it's okay value and a busy place if you want a quick bite to eat at lunch time. It's probably healthier than most fast food places such as McD's, Burger King, Subway etc. Worth a visit if you aren't looking for immaculate service and perfect food, just something quick and filling. read more

Went here with my kids for the first time at the weekend. Loved it! All of us did! Service was swift and efficient.
