Stopped by here on the way to and from Palm Springs as it's one of the few stops on the way for a matcha. During my first visit, I tried one of their specialty matches that had macadamia nut syrup but I didn't enjoy it that much, felt the syrup was too overwhelming. Went with the basics on my second visit with just a iced matcha latte and it was much better. This place is a small hole in the wall on the side of a nice gas station. As others reviewers state, it's not giving "cozy" at all, in looks or feel (white, angular benches and "stools", very minimal and not comfortable). Service was nice both visits. Bathroom is freezing cold, notably so lol. It's nice to know road trip stops like this exist for a quick drink / break during longer drives. This was our first visit, on a Friday mid afternoon. It was not too busy and our order was taken right away. The shop was clean and had a minimalistic Ikea type look to it, which I don't mind from a visual point of view, but these wood blocks for seating are not inviting and definitely not comfortable. We ordered a hot Island Matcha (6.50) and a hot Spanish latte (6.00). I liked the Island Matcha but it could have been a little stronger. The real star was the Spanish latte. We made a u-turn when we noticed the Nook Coffee Bar at the corner of Foothill & Rochester. This little coffee shop is in the old Subway sandwich location. There was a line from the register to the door when my hubby & I arrived at 9:30am on a Sunday morning. That gave us some time to look at the menu options and the fancy pastries. Hubby ordered an iced honey oatmilk latte and I chose the island matcha. The Nook has a minimalist design (which makes my heart happy) and limited seating options both inside and outside. Leaving a short review for a place that always has a medium to long line! Workers are chill and quick (most days) and drinks are GOOD. My favs are an iced coconut matcha or iced Spanish latte.. honey lavender gets an honorable mention. 4.5 overall bc the seating + interior is artsy and stiff and minimal. Cool but not cozy or comfy. I wish I lived in this area because this is my absolute favorite coffee shop! I'm super picky with coffee, and I'm glad I picked the spot to go to. Their latte is phenomenal. Their menu is super small, but I definitely recommend trying the Spanish coffee. It has a perfect amount of sweetness and a little bit of cinnamon to go along with it. Well... I might have just found my new favorite matcha spot. I love that it's sweetened with agave, as I have trouble with cane sugar (yay GI issues lol). Not only that, but it's delicious. It's the perfect balance of sweet but not too sweet, and still having a good amount of matcha flavor without being bitter. The coffee and pastries are great here as well as the staff. The long line says it all BUT they need to invest in a bigger space. Theres not enough room inside when you're waiting to order so you're forced to wait outside. Theres no seating outside and there's no shade at all so when you're waiting in line outside it's too hot or cold. It's in a random shopping center next to a gas station and might be hard to fine. Finally, Rancho has a good coffee spot! This is hands down the best coffee in Rancho! This is the first coffee place in Rancho that I've been to where the coffee isn't super sweet, which I'm a big fan of. The best way to describe it is that their drinks are very consistent! So far, I've tried their vanilla latte, spanish latte, matcha latte, and island matcha latte. I absolutely devour their coffee because of its rich flavor! Every time I go to places like Starbucks I have a hard time finishing it because of how sweet the drink is or how mild the coffee taste is, but I'm always able to finish my latte here at Nook! I also am very picky when it comes to buying matcha lattes, but I fold every time I come to Nook. I love their matcha so much that I ended up buying the matcha powder they use to make their drinks! As for the ambiance, the place has a very minimal, light wood aesthetic. Although I think their drinks are a 5/5, it is very uncomfortable to sit inside for a long period of time. Since all the seating is wood and there are no tables, aside from the back window near the bathroom, it can be very difficult on your back to read or work on your laptop for long periods of time. However, I'm sure they did this on purpose to limit people from staying too long. This isn't that big of a deal if you're just here to come pick up a drink. Otherwise, Nook is a great place to grab coffee with a friend to chat, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out :) read more

I was stunned a few weeks ago when I searched coffee and saw Nook had opened up a location in the IE. I got the matcha lavender and it was delicious as always. Service was friendly however I came on a Saturday at 9am and it was busy. The line reached the front entrance and I'm happy they're getting business but it did take a while as there were only two workers Also it's located next to a gas station and we had to park a little further out. Good vibes and overall good first time experience after hearing great things about this place. The matcha was a nice earthy tone with good flavors in their coffee. Not too overpowering and had a good quality and balance. The Spanish latte was delicious as well with what tasted like cinnamon, condensed milk and some other Spanish flavors. This Nook is pretty good in my book! I had seen their Torrance location from social media but could never make it out there, so I was thrilled to be in the IE and find they opened one in Rancho! This location definitely isn't as big as their other shops but lives up to their namesake. I tried their Honey Oat Latte since it was their top signature drink and also snagged a plain croissant. The latte was delicious, but possibly the espresso was slightly burnt. That didn't affect the drink too much though! Loved the warmed up plain croissant. Again, since this location is truly a nook, seating is pretty limited, with only a few benches and a corner with some bar seating. It would be a little tough to do work here since the shop is so small, but if needed, the seats in the corner can do as well as a couple of outside tables they have set up. This is definitely more of a quick catch-up type spot or a stop while running errands. Service was friendly and quick--nothing to complain about there! I'd say it's worth the look at Nook! read more

However it still is a ridiculously long line here. It's a warm day. It's cool inside but I still feel uncomfortable. i cannot believe i haven't given this place a review !! nook is probably my most visited coffee shop ever since it opened. it's in a plaza near a gas station so it's perfect to grab before heading out, and before my parents head to work, practically every day they stop by nook to grab coffee (and usually i'll have them grab me one too.) the staff is incredibly kind every time and i love how it seems like everyone working here is having a blast making drinks. the place is always neat and clean but it IS a small location so sometimes the line pours outside the door and there's barely any seating, but regardless, this place is so worth it (it's moreso designed for grabbing-and-going anyway so you have to keep that in mind) every drink i've ever gotten from here tastes incredible from the americanos to the hibiscus lemonade, and their pastries also taste great too. i'm a big fan of their espresso brownies paired with either a hot latte or an iced americano :) i highly, highly, highly recommend nook i love you, please never close your doors read more

Serval times now, I have had to wait outside the coffee shop for 20-30 mins just to order my coffee and then wait another 15 minutes to have it made. The workers lack urgency and to me that shows no respect or consideration for the customers that are stopping but to grab a coffee wt this specific spot and then go on with their busy work day ahead. when i first drove into the plaza, i saw a line out the door. i was already thrown off but decided to go down since i was already there. waited outside for maybe 10 min? once i got inside i realized it's bc it's so small inside, there's no room for a line. i order what i usually order when it's my first time at a coffee spot (an americano and cappuccino). they make your drinks FAST and you can see them do it too. they're not rushing either, you can tell they got a rhythm. my cappuccino was amazing, prob top cappuccino i've had this year. perfect amount, not too hot, great foam. would def get it here again. the americano did fall short for me. it tasted like water. i feel like maybe they need a smaller cup for americanos too because the ratio of water:espresso was not good and was sad i couldn't taste the espresso. read more

Anytime I'm around I make sure to stop by, make sure you're good on time because there's sometimes a line out the door. Once ordered though I haven't waited more than 5 minutes for my drink.
