Five stars for Capt. Andrew and The Professor! I've lived in Reno since 2008 and never knew anyone who really fished Lake Tahoe. As my kids have come to enjoy fishing, I've found myself looking for new experiences we can share, so when we found ourselves in the area for Spring Break, my wife and I booked this trip for all of us. I'd been following Andrew on social media for about a year, so he was my first call. From his consistent presence online and catches, I could tell that he knew the lake, ran a tight ship, and knew how to get on the fish, so we booked individual seats (nearly had a private boat) and met him at Round Hill Pines for a 7:30am departure. Andrew had the whole boat ready to roll with a well full of live bait, rods rigged for a variety of approaches, and a game plan on where we'd be going and what we'd be doing. Upon my request, he gave us a deep dive on what we were doing, how the fish would react, what to look for, how to fight them and anything else you might want to know about the lake and fishery. We trolled live baits and caught big lake trout. It was fun to tend the rods under his command and even more fun watching the kids faces light up as these large freshwater fish took the baits and eventually came over the rails. Andrew was awesome at making sure everyone had a great time and got on the fish. The kids really loved his high energy and fed into helping him "run the boat". The icing on the cake was eating the fish themselves. I had heard these lake trout weren't good eating but that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, this is THE reason to get on this boat IMHO. I'm stoked to have a few more meals left in the freezer and looking forward to another trip for more. BEST OF ALL... if the fish aren't biting you're still getting a cruise on Lake Tahoe, which can run about the same on one of the larger yachts! read more

Rented a kayak for 2 for 1 hr. Got in paddled around, found a $20 in the lake. Returned the kayak, washed off our feet and left. There were some hiccups but all were resolved: first they do not validate parking and it's $12 a day or on the marina side $25. Please be advised if you're planning to rent here go up behind the ice cream shop for the free parking and walk in. It's a 4 min walk. Initially had difficulties getting my hubs liability waiver fixed. Then they refused to validate our parking. Just trying to get more $ from the flat landers. On a positive note we were out on the lake it was breathtaking and calm. Had fun and met some great ppl at the marina. Just part of being a tourist in Tahoe. read more

Andrew worked his absolute butt off on a slower day of fishing and we scored really well. The full 5 hours he was constantly adjusting the boat's course, changing the depth on the downriggers and helping us with anything we needed. He felt like one of the boys in our group. If you're in town and want to be out on the lake or fish, or both, booking a trip on the Professor (boat name) is the way to go. It's a private charter on a really cool boat that has a deck, bathroom, and plenty of room for up to 7. I found these guys on Groupon and went for it. Booked a family trip that lasted 4 hours in the afternoon. We were led by just one guy, Captain Andrew and the man is amazing at what he does and super cool to hangout! He's fished out at the lake for over a decade and really knows his stuff, where the spots are to find the fish, and how to work with kids and families. He taught techniques on fishing and what to look for when you know you've caught something. I really admire how hard working Andrew is and the love he has for what he does, it made the experience for me a lot better. The experience really was A+ with Andrew taking care of us. He provided coffee, donuts, water, soda and beer. Everyone in our group caught multiple fish, nobody came home empty handed due to Andrew's expertise on the lake. He was even nice enough to gut and fillet all the fish we caught. Please don't hesitate to go on a charter with Andrew if you're looking to go fish in Lake Tahoe! read more

Went out with captain Andrew for the second time. The trip was amazing, as expected. He put my dad and I pn 6 nice size mackinaw! He actually put us on more, but that's what we took home. He was able to squeeze us in at the end of the day. Not only was the rate per person lower than the other places had advertised, the Professor was clean and beautiful. We received first class treatment and had a great time cracking fishing jokes and watching the kids reel them in. Captain was super personable and down to earth. Captain in training Tim was amazing with the kids while teaching them how to bait the hook and drop the lines. This is one of those memories we will cherish forever and, before we even got back to the parking lot, we decided this should be an annual tradition for us. Captain Mike was pretty great. I had given him a light hearted hard time before our charter. My husband, for the season so far, had been skunked in that he hadn't been able to catch any fish. So I put ALOT of pressure on Captain Andrew and Captain Mike that we NEEDED to catch fish. The charter did NOT disappoint. My wife set up an afternoon excursion with Andrew with this company. When we arrived at the ramp, he had the motor running and was ready to go. We ended up catching a couple good size mackinaw trout after about 4 hours out. Andrew was totally laid back and easy to talk to. Beverages and some snacks were provided at no additional cost including beer. After we caught our limit, he was kind enough to clean them for us and refer us to a local restaurant that would cook them up for us.
