TL;DR -- If you want a doctor who cares more about getting money from insurance than your health, then you've come to the right place. My mother was involved in a car accident involving fractured ribs and head trauma. Dr. Nora refused to see her right away. My mother had to wait 4 DAYS in pain before she could even get a diagnosis! When her appointment finally came, Dr. Nora made her wait 2-3 hours (even thought she had an appointment). During the check up, my mother was asked to sign a bunch of legal document ON THE SPOT to ensure they can get a cut of the accident settlement money BEFORE even treating her. Keep in mind, my mother was still in pain and had brain fog from the head trauma during all this. So we went to the X-ray place in Alhambra right after the appointment. It was such a mission because Dr. Nora kept us waiting until 5:45 and the X-ray place was only accepting patients until 6:00! Anyway, we made it. The place told us they will send Dr. Nora the X-rays by the next day. The next day came around... nothing. Then the next day, then the next... nothing! No calls, no messages. We wanted to give them their time, but it has been a week since my mother's accident and we still didn't know whether she had a broken rib or a punctured organ. So we decided to call Dr. Nora's office. They claimed they never received the X-rays. So we called the X-ray place. Surprise, they confirmed it was already sent. Twice. Waited a couple hours, called Dr. Nora again. "We don't have it." She says. A few days later, we hired an accident attorney. They recommended my mother to throughly check for damages by getting a CT scan and a brain scan. In order to do these tests, we needed Dr. Nora's professional referrals--but she REFUSED! Her reason? Because it's "dangerous" for my mother to get a CT scan after receiving X-rays just days before. I'm no medical student but I know CT scans give off very little radiation and nowhere close to dangerous. So what's the real reason? A practitioner can bill a certain amount for a patient's treatment, but the money gets split up between other practitioners that treat her--i.e. the more referrals she gives out, the less money she can bill the insurance. I can't think of any other reason why a doctor would refuse to give a patient the care they need. But wait, there's more. So my mother decided to file for employment disability, which requires Dr. Nora to fill out an online PDF form. She REFUSED to fill out the form online. The only way she would sign it is by requiring my mother to obtain the physical forms by mail (a two-week process) and personally delivering it for her to sign in person. This means that my mother would need to go into work (in severe pain from the broken ribs and all) until the papers can be signed--just because Dr. Nora "prefers" the physical forms to be delivered to her in person vs. signing it online. The wait here is a joke. Be prepared for a 2-3 hour wait for a walk in. Even if you schedule an appointment it's at least a 30 minute wait. I need to change my doctor asap! Update: It's been 2+ hour waiting and I'm being asked to wait in the second waiting area because they have lunch. No seats so I'm standing. Update: 3+ hours now. Anyone know of another family doctor? Cash only and first come, first serve Saturdays. Out-of-date new patient forms (some were even Chinese), staff are nice, (if you're a lady) the doctor will snap your bra off and go under your shirt, doctor also speaks very fast and think Chinese fish have the best Omega oils. Patients also will come in whole you're seeing the doctor so there's no confidentiality. I really wish the doctor was more considerate and "patient" with her patients instead of brushing them off and running out of the room. read more

Dr. Nora Tee been our family doctors over 20 years, she is the best doctor that we have ever met. Unlike other doctors, she is willing to spend lots of time to listen and communicate with her patients and not only focusing on number of patients she can take......awesome doctor. One star goes to the front desk ladies who work for Dr. Tee. Judy and the young long hair Chinese lady are so rude to patients regardless young, elders unless you are super wealthy that can bring them benefits or good looking awesome whites. So sad...I would give them negative five stars if Yelp allows me to. I would recommend Dr. Tee to fire them immediately and replace useless people like them to avoid further losing your loyal patients. Your patients are so turned off by your front desk and for sure some are already gone to other clinics just for this reason. read more

Dr. Tee is the only nice and welcome lady in her office, she always has a smile on her face. She does things carefully and slowly with all her patients to make sure that they get what they need to know without any question before they leave her office. I gave them 2 starts because anyone else in the office are totally different from Dr. Tee.They don't smile(they look piss off at any time), they don't speak more than 5 words(whatever you ask them, the ladies there will just answer your firmly by saying "NO","YES","You can go in now","Go ask your doctor"... When they called me regarding about my blood test and urethra test,the lady just told me to finish my pills then I will be fine. However, when I asked her questions,she didn't know what kind of virus cause me sick, she didn't know what I should be careful with. At the end, she hung up on me without saying anything, not even a goodbye as a normal human being. I only go there when I have time and energy to deal with those mean people in the office. Specially when you are sick, when you are worrying about your health, I can guarantee you that you will get piss of by them. read more

These two stars are not for Dr. Tee, the nurse practitioner who works under her or Dr. Tee's phlebotomist (they all deserve at least 4 gold stars in my book). They were both very caring and attentive to my concerns, needs and questions. BUT, I had to give this business a two star rating because of the other staff members (i.e. Maggie and two other ladies who work behind the desk) in the reception area. They were all so very unprofessional, extremely rude and don't give very good or clear explanations. They just don't come across as giving a crap about any of the patients' needs. I have come to this office for over 7 years and although I absolutely respect and appreciate Dr. Tee, I have finally decided to leave because of the unreasonable staff she continues to pay to sit behind the front desk. I've been going to this doctor for years. And I put my trust in her. But that trust was broken when I went to my appointment to get the annual women's exam. I expressed to her that she was hurting me. She told me to relax. And I again told her that you are hurting me. Instead of listening to me and being understanding, Dr. Norta angrily told me "I DON'T CARE IF U HAVE CANCER!!!!!" I left the office in tears. That was unprofessional on her part. Dr. Norta should of listened to her patient and respected them. U never ever make comments like that. I advise anyone who has gone thru a similar experience to report it. Dr.Tee is such an awesome doctor. I go to her for just about everything and despite her long litany of patients, she's always friendly and patient to listen. Her jovial manner also helps to put me at ease - be it a blood test or a simple checkup. Her office doubles as an official vaccination clinic. It's one of the few official areas in SGV which administers Yellow Fever vaccinations (for going to the Congo), H1N1, Chicken Pox, and just a myriad of other shots. What I love about her is that in addition to be very -patient, she's also very personal - meaning she'll actually take the time to look at how much was charged to your visit, shot, test etc and recommend deductions. Yes- I had one of my vaccination fees waived. She's also proactive in looking out for you - in whole, making you aware of new technologies or news that you might be interested in. I highly recommend going early in the morning (the office opens at 9A) and skip the Saturday visit (really long lines). read more

If you have other options go with that. I went in to check out a stye that didn't go away and there are options to soften or surgically remove if it's too late to drain. She first implied it's bc I waited too long to goto Dr and used drug store ointments. And so I can do Warm compresses. And then prescribed me an ointment... She didn't disclose any other option. I asked her about each option and she said she'd refer me to an optometrist. Then I ask if I can continue my 2 birth control packs I had from before I stopped and she goes "why? are you active...?" I say yes. She tells me I'm not due but said we can do a pap and other things... Nothing about whether to wait or go ahead with the birth control. Didn't ask which one it was or anything. Just signed me up for shit I wasn't due for yet. She had a single page mental health survey that I filled out. Typical questions like the ones if filled for my therapist a bunch of times. She literally forces me to change my answer bc she claims she'd be forced to put me in a mental institution and can not release me unless I do. Then proceeds to prescribe me an anti-depressants.... I'm pretty sure that's all illegal. Don't think she's a psychiatrist. She threatens patients with mental asylum to force them to change their responses. Judges like church ladies and doesn't give you all the medical options for your ailments. And once she was done she just went into her office and closed the door. There was no other staff at the front. I really hope all the older non-English speakers aren't being taken advantage of bc they don't have options. read more

This my 3rd years having Dr.Nora Tee as my family dr. She is a friendly, nice, kind,and understanding doctor. She is always willing to listen and gives you an useful health' advices, with all your complaints, health problems, and questions. Our family come here for general check-up every year, and consultation. Dr.Tee often gave my family discount, such as for Dr' consultation' fee, twice of time Dr.Tee did not charged us for consultation which usually other Dr. does. Regarding a waiting time: Yes, it takes about 1.5 hours. I think the best way to avoid long waiting time is come bit early if you are a walk-in pt OR make an appt. They opened at 9am, so I usually come at 9am as a walking pt. Hopefully, everyone has positive, nice experiences as I have. read more

Rarely do I get so livid that I feel compelled enough to write a bad review about a doctor but I felt it is my civic duty to warn other citizens about this horrible office. I get it, doctors are busy. They studied for years to help people live better lives. But there is such a thing as bad doctors and good doctors. Here's the short of my experience: 1st visit- Went in for a routine physical and waited 1.5 hours after my appointment time to see the doctor. Meanwhile, multiple pharm reps went in before me and didn't come back out for at least 20 minutes. I was annoyed it took so long but Dr. Tee was decent enough during our interaction so I figured it was just a fluke that day that it was so busy. I booked a followup appointment for the next week. 2nd visit- Had an appointment for 10:30am thinking it would cut my wait time. Guess what time I saw the doctor? 1pm!!!! That's 2.5 hours of my precious time! And this was a week day! As I patiently waited in the waiting room, at least 3 pharm reps went in to see the doctor (did I mention Dr. Tee is the ONLY doctor in this office?). I kept asking the staff why it was taking so long and they kept assuring me that I was the next patient to get called in. Being that this was my last day to use my current insurance, I had no choice but to wait it out. Eventually I was called into the back office where I was put in a room to wait for the doctor...and wait I did. Dr. Tee was in a room with another patient for at least 30 minutes and after that, she went to talk to her staff for another 15 minutes. My time spent with Dr. Tee after that horrendous 2.5 hour wait? About 10 minutes- max. I left on the verge of tears for being so livid that I wasted so much time waiting. NEVER again I vowed. Staff/Office/Cleanliness- My overall impression of this office is that it's older and somewhat disorganized. I had my blood drawn and a vaccination done during my 2 visits and I felt that the procedure room could have been nicer and more clean looking. Also, the staff lady who did my shots and handled the needle did not talk to me at all during the process but more so motioned to what I was supposed to do (like, stick out my arm). I know this is an office catering to Chinese-speaking patients but dude, a little bit of customer service please? After all, I am letting you stick needles into my arm. Also, the office staff seem to be good at playing the "blame game". When I asked several staff why it took 2.5 hours, they were like.."well, the doctor comes in late...." and "the patients like to talk to the doctor and ask questions". Sorry, but for a general doctor's visit, it should never take this long. She's not even a specialist! Anyways, since I had a lot of time to observe the dynamics of the doctor's office, I think that Dr. Tee is a nice lady who does seem to take the time to listen to her patients and talk to them, she has HORRIBLE time-management and office management skills. If you have your own practice, be more mindful about your patient load, stop seeing so many pharm reps, and get to work on time! read more

It's a Chinese office that caters to Chinese. They have their way of doing things that don't always fit with western ways... cluttered, crowded, load, seemingly disorganized, sometimes abrupt... yet, IMO, Dr. Tee is worth it. My wife is Chinese. I am a 62 year old anglo American man who makes and usually attends all of my Chinese (only) speaking wife's doctor's appointments. You will seldom hear Chinese complaining about the wait or atmosphere in this office, as some reviews have posted. If you are not Chinese nor understand Chinese ways of interacting and doing things, do yourself a favor and find another doctor. If though, you don't mind waiting for a highly competent, professional, empathic doctor who'll make certain that you get every test for every potential health issue that Dr. Tee considers necessary, then she's the doctor for you... BTW, my wife and my averaged wait time was ~45min to 1hour. Not much different than any other doctor's office I've visited over the years. read more

If there is a 0 star I will give it. Do NOT go here. Their staff is very RUDE, extremely RUDE, especially people in front desk. beyond my words! Im not gonna naming names but honestly, its hard to have a normal conversation with them. They do not respect patients at all. You will end up have to feeling pissed after each call. You either being yelled at OR you have to yell at them at some point because they don't want to listen to what you got to say. They will treat you like dirt. They want you to beg them for their services whereas all of their services are paid in FULL by our insurances. Seriously the DR or management team of that place should do something about their staff's attitude and customer services. Not to perfection but at least reasonable. This is RIDICULOUS ! Yelling, speaking to patient with annoying feeling tone, treating patients like a fool, long wait even with appointment are NOT a nice practice for anything kind of business !!! No one wants to go to see DR if they are NOT sick. When you are sick and you receive this kind of treatment, I guarantee it doesnt make any patient feel better. No matter how well the DR is, patient wont feel at ease if they had to deal with this kind of lousy staffs. I hope my review can be read by the authority of this place. I've been here twice and do not plan on returning. I had appointments both times but still waited like 1 hour and a half in the waiting room and half an hour inside. The second time I didn't even see Nora and was attended by the physician who did know about the reasons why i had the follow up appointment. The office is a mess . There were papers everywhere and looks very unprofessional. The staff is horrible and rude and can barely speak english. I tried making a third appointment because i thought i had an eye infection .I was on hold for 15 minutes and the soonest appointment they had was in two weeks? The only reason Im giving it two stars is because both nora and the physician were both helpful and kind. read more

My HMO couldnt let me change my primary physician until Feb 1st; therefore, I had no choice but continue to see Nora Tee until then. My only comment about this doctor's bedside manner is rude! rude! rude! On 1/13/2012, she came into the examine room and started speaking to me without closing the door. I had to remind her that I would like the door to be closed for reason of privacy. I asked her why was my blood test inconclusive? She stated, "why don't you take the result to the lab and ask the lab yourself." How irresponsible is that, now I have to do her job. She spoke to me for only two minutes and was ready to end my office visit. I told her in a firm voice that I needed her to explain my other test results to me. Tee snapped at me and said, "What other questions do you have?" "Can't you read the results yourself? It's 6pm and I have a meeting to attend." She was completely disrespectful and lacked empathy. Most of her office staff was abrupt and impatient as well. According to my HMO plan, there is no co pay for physical exam. But one of the male staff insisted that if I speak to the physician then I must pay the co payment. Lol, I don't know how I can complete a physical exam without talking to the physician. Then he insisted on charging $1 per page if i wanted a copy of my physical exam result. According to him that the copy machine toner was expensive and cost $100 to purchase. His voice was extremely abrasive and harsh. I had no problem paying for the copies if my office visits were pleasant. My experience with this doctor was completely dissatisfied, and I felt totally disrespected. Where was her bedside manner and compassion and empathy for her patients? In addition, her office was very disorganized, it took them forever to locate my test results. They kept on telling me that the results were not in, and I had to take the initiative by calling the main lab myself. The lab told me that the results were sent few days ago. Since the office could not locate my paper work, the lab had to re fax the blood test results to Tee. Nora Tee MD truly deserves no stars, not even one. read more
