I found Dr. Oropez through Yelp after two failed rounds of IVF that resulted in zero PGS normal embryos. I was in a bad headspace at the time and so glad I found him. I decided to take 3 months off of fertility treatments to focus on preparing my body and mind for a third (and last) round. I saw Dr. Oropez weekly for acupuncture. He helped to stimulate more blood flow to the uterus which is supposed to improve egg quality. He was always professional, friendly, empathetic, and easy to talk to and very comfortable to be around. I continued to see him through my stims cycle and gearing up for a frozen transfer. On that round I was able to retrieve the most number of eggs out of all 3 rounds I've done, and it resulted in 1 PGS normal blast which I transferred and now I have a 11 week old healthy baby girl! In spite of a complex medical history and "geriatric" age, I did get pregnant within the first 1-2 months! However it ended up being short lived, chemical pregnancy. I had read that acupuncture was important to do during ivf so I turned to yelp to look for someone near me and was lucky enough to find dr oropez. He explains each needle placement if you'd like and he is very calm and nice. I went to Dr. Oropez on and off for the past two years for weekly fertility acupuncture. First, I went weekly for 8 months while I underwent several IUIs and two egg retrievals. I took a break from infertility treatments for a bit and then saw him again weekly for 4 months. Stopped again due to the pandemic and started again twice a week for the past 3 months leading up to my recent frozen embryo transfer. I am now pregnant with twins. I found Dr.Oropez online and went to him for fertility acupuncture. I went to him weekly for about two months until I became pregnant!! I was not sure if I was ovulating because my periods would only last about a day. I was on birth control ever since I was about 15 years old (I am 29 years old now) and knew it would take some time to get pregnant but, two month, wow! I had been tracking my ovulation at home with urine dip sticks. I was seeing Dr.Oropez on Monday's. That being said at my appointment I was not sure if I had ovulated on that Friday before (because this was the date I was due to ovulated based on my cycle). I am saying this only because the testing strip had a faint line and wasn't too solid. That being said I had my appointment, went home, later that night had a sharp pain on one side of my lower abdomen. I went to test my ovulation even tho according to my app my ovulation period had past and the line WAS VERY SOLID I knew FOR SURE I was ovulating! Written by my wife Chelsea Romero... I saw Dr. Oropez when I was past my due date. My OB wanted to induce me at 41 weeks but I declined. I wanted a natural and no pain meds/interventions labor. I did 3 acupuncture sessions with him and At each session I always felt I was in the best of hands. He helped me relax and help my body continue to dilate. (I was 2cm when I first saw him). My water finally broke naturally 2 days after my 3rd session with him! I was 41 weeks & 6 days when my son was born. I genuinely feel that the acupuncture got my body to RELAX to help the natural process continue. The sessions also helped me get through labor with NO pains meds! Lastly my labor was only 7.5 hrs total. Since my Obi informed me that after 42 weeks they most likely will induce me, which was so unpleasant for me. My goal was a vaginal delivery with minimum doctor's interventions. After years of significant illness, hospitalizations, near-death experiences, infertility treatments, sadness, loss, mourning and grief, my husband and I decided to again pursue IVF after undergoing major surgery for my underlying disease. We wanted to go "all-in" on this IVF round and decided to do acupuncture. I honestly had my doubts that it would help, given my limited experience with Eastern medicine and my history of many depressing moments along the journey to parenthood. But I wanted to exhaust all potential care options. Dr. Oropez was phenomenal. He listened to our story, carefully crafted a treatment plan for us and immediately caused me to feel safe and secure. I was a bit nervous about seeing him because he now practices out of his home. My husband went with me and we found Dr. Oropez to be completely professional. A large room in the upstairs of his lovely craftsman home is his acupuncture office. It is spacious, clean and all equipment used for treatments is sterile, packaged, and disposed of appropriately following treatment. Two of the best things about Dr. Oropez are his Empathy and his Reliability. Dr. Oropez has a long history of successfully treating women with infertility in addition to a degree in counseling. His many years of acupuncture training and practice along with the compassion my husband and I felt on our phone consultation made him the ideal candidate for treating me prior to my IVF transfer. At every appointment, he would first listen to my concerns, give constructive feedback and advice and then provide appropriate therapy, which often included acupuncture, acupressure and hypnotherapy. He has experience with IVF patients. It made me feel more comfortable. I never try acupuncture before. My 1st and 2nd treatment were a little unease, because I was so afraid of needles. They would help me feel better for a short time, as in a few days or a week tops, but no one was ever able to keep my pain managed until now.
