Leah, the manager is wonderful but her hands are tied. Next door @ North Fork Storage (a new facility) they quoted me a 12x15 for $130 per month. I'll factually highlight that they're gauging. I've been a customer for 6+ years. I rented a 10 x 15 in 2021 that cost me $110 a year and if I paid The entire year at once I got one month free. This brought the price to about $100 a month. Four years later they are charging me $164 a month. That's a 64% increase in four years (an average of 16% per year!) Even Biden, and his lousy policies, didn't produce that kind of inflation, he's at 5.2%! So airport Storage, which has no real consumable material costs, is charging a good customer 300% the inflation rate during the Biden administration. This is nothing but a money grab, and especially shady as hell since when I called their service center I can rent the same 10x15 unit today for $147 per month at the same facility. I had driven my rental truck to Chico and waited for the two movers I had hired off of the U-Haul website. In our phone conversation I was assured stairs and heavy objects, including pianos, were not an issue. When I met them, I had great hesitation as to their ability to lift, carry, and move heavy boxes and furniture. The two movers had problems moving simple items out of the truck and took numerous breaks. My teen grandson and I had to start moving boxes and items just to get the truck unpacked. To make matters worse, the furniture dolly holding my very heavy and antique upright piano had broken during transit. Moving it was tremendously difficult and when the movers begin to tell me they could move the piano down the ramp, in spite of the broken dolly, I became very upset and had no faith in their abilities. I quickly Googled movers and Sorenson Moving and Storage came up. I called and asked if anyone could come right away to help and direct the move of my piano and was referred to Rick's son, Richard. I was very upset and I'm sure he could sense my anxiety over the phone and assured me he would have help there immediately. I told the movers not touch the piano until help arrived. True to his word, he arrived with another gentleman, and basically transferred the piano to another furniture dolly. The two of them, with minimal assistance from my hired movers, moved the piano off the trunk, inside my new home, did most of the work to transfer it off the dolly and got it placed where I wanted it. Without this help, I know my piano would have been destroyed. I am so grateful for the help, assistance and expertise these two men brought to my move in spite of the hired movers. I know I have one more move in the future and when that time comes, I will call Sorenson's again, this time to take care of my entire move!

We did ask for three-four quotes due to the complexities of our move, thank you Covid, and gave everyone the opportunity to put on their thinking caps and come up with figures that made sense and wouldn't put us into one of the cardboard boxes we were moving our things with. Rich Sorenson called prior to our appointment to get a sense of the dates we were thinking about and to be the first on the planet of cell phones to ask where we were located. That never can be a good sign when you're getting ready to hire a moving company, amirite? He showed up without a mask (smack in the middle of Covid). We gave him one of our prepackaged spares since we're a first responder family. He claims he must have left it on the ground at the gas station. Nice. Asked a lot of questions. Took measurements. Seemed checked out (this isn't our first rodeo when it comes to getting estimates and moving). And then crickets. No email. No quote. No phone call. And yes, we did check our spam. Unless he was emailing in broken English from Nigeria, nothing in the spam box was from Sorenson's. I did read another review that spoke of the same net result. I feel bad for the employees who are missing out on work because their estimator is slacking off. But I can't be bothered with making a follow-up call to light a fire under the owner's son's butt when I found some phenomenal out of state movers here locally that were johnny-on-the-spot with their estimates. If you're like us and looking to move out of this godforsaken place, you might want to check out the smaller guys who are working hard to make a name for themselves.

NOT nice people running it and they overly enforce those rules, for what reason, I'm not sure. We needed a storage so we could have everything in one spot a couple week before we relocated to the bay area. Everything was smooth until move out day. We had professional movers helping us, they entered the gate behind another car while I was settling paperwork in the office. The gentleman in the office made a HUGE dramatic scene about them "not using the gate card". He stated that, in the event one of our movers "opened someone elses storage or something was stolen" we would be held liable, as they were illegally on the premises because they didn't swipe a key card according to him. This sounds like something made up, but I apologized and let him know we were unaware of that rule and it wouldn't happen again. I guess my apology for our honest mistake wasn't enough because he followed us out to our unit and confronted the movers. He scalded them like young children who had knowingly broken rules. It was, in my opinion embarrassing for all involved. I felt bad for the movers because they were hired to be there to help. It wasn't their fault and he couldn't give anyone a break. I apologized over and over again once he left, it wasn't right of him. His tone was forceful and snide. Adults have zero business speaking to other adults that way. He treated them like criminals.They didn't break into the storage facility, it was the first time any of them had heard "the rule" of not entering behind another car. The gate was left open at one point during the evening and he made the humongous semi wait and drive thru the other side. Don't get me wrong, I understand the need for gate codes and key cards. Safety in this day and age are very important. With that being said, there is a fine line when enforcing rules and being on a power trip. He needs to watch the way he interacts with people, being rude is bad for business and I will never recommend this place to anyone I know because of him. Also, there is a woman who also takes an annoyed tone with people. I was trying to move out and her final words to me were "you better sweep it out and leave it the way you got it or you'll be charged 20$". Treat people the way you want to be treated. End of story.

The prices here can be a little higher, but if you have everything already packed up, or even a pre-purchased label, you won't have to worry about any of that. It's always clean inside, staff is quick to get the line moving and to make things as easy as possible for you. Parking is also extremely convenient here, unlike at the post office.
