I checked in today to get my Taxes done by the VITA Tax Preparation Volunteer team and had such a wonderful experience! Norco College set up signs by the Student Success Center that made it easy for me to locate the ATEC Building and the classroom/computer lab where VITA helped me with my Taxes was super clean and well maintained! The Tax Prep Professionals Alicia and Edward were so nice, thorough, and courteously organized with making the process simple and easy and I loved walking around campus afterward and exploring the Student Center as well. I can tell Norco College really cares about the Students and offers and abundance of high value resources to assist them with completing all their academic goals successfully, and paying for Visitor parking is super simple as well with the visual aids they post in the parking lot on how to download the park mobile app and how to pay quickly easily online! DO NOT GO TO NORCO COLLEGE! I was in the summer advantage promise program that's supposed to pay for 2 years of education (from 2018-2020) as long as you're a full time student. In the LAST SEMESTER (Spring 2020) of my two years, NCC cancelled one of my classes I needed to graduate. I couldn't find a replacement for it and decided I'd continue to complete my 60 units extending into the fall of 2020. Not only did they waste a year of my life into transferring into a 4 year university, but they want ME to pay for the courses they're not covering due to them cancelling my class to graduate! Counselor Jethro Midgett is The most helpful and knowledgeable counselor I've had so far. He takes his time to go over your educational plan with you to make sure you are on the right track in what classes you take. Kind and professional, I am thankful for his guidance. Professors are hit and miss but I highly recommend Mark Lewis for Comm classes. He is a class act and truly cares for his students! read more

I dislike the people who worked in Disability resource center because they assume I can do everything on my own without asking for help & I have Autism so it was difficult handling everything in my freshman year. Absolute WORST admissions/records/counseling staff. Have wasted so much time and money from being repeatedly misinformed and have been misguided by several counselors, some even telling me I could receive a bachelors degree from a community college. The admissions and records staff is HORRIBLE and could care less to communicate with their students or help them in any way if it's not a simple fix. I really can't believe how poor the admissions office is with time sensitive matters when they know my program acceptance is on the line. They could care less. They canceled the class I needed for the semester 3 days before it was supposed to start. It messed up my time line to fill out applications for the program I wanted to get into. They said it was due to low enrollment for the class. I wish they would've have figured out a system to when they know the amount of students are needed to keep a class and if something happens, to give students ample to time to find another school to fulfill that required class. I don't know what it is about RCC, but I just keep coming back. I first went to RCC from 2005-2007. There were tons of classes available and a lot of my professors were teachers from surrounding UC's and some private collages. Fast forward to 2010, in my attempt to complete preqes for grad school I found myself back at cc. A lot has changed! They've cut A LOT of classes and it's incredibly difficult to get into anything unless you're enrolled in a program that gets you priority registration I strongly urge any new students who are trying to get into anatomy, biology, or chem classes to consider looking at other opportunities instead. read more

See trying to call the school is just atrocious. Trying to connect to the wifi is just as bad. When trying to call you'll be transferred from machine to machine then from norco machines to riverside machines. it sucks. There's two forms of wifi. The guest one which never loads anything and the INET one which works but signs you out every semester because you have to change your password with the school. Changing the password every semester can cause you to forget your password and you can't connect to the internet to change your password because again... the wifi is ass. read more

This is a great school if you need to go the community college route. There are many programs here to help you progress through your requirements to transfer to a 4 yr college. Th counseling department should break up by majors and expertise. Some were not sure of transferable classes and didn't understand how AP classes transferred to the UC system. This location of RCC is the only one with plenty of parking, but class selections are limited. Try to get in a program where you get priority registration like EOP or STEM or Honors or else you will have a hard time getting classes. read more

Now there is visitor parking.. in the past there was no visitor parking. You would get a ticket and you couldn't even fight it. You show them that you were at a visitors event on campus and they'll only reduce your fee a tiny bit. The police used to be horrible.. giving tickets all day so you were just waiting for it to happen to you. Now it seems to be so much better. The police make it safe without ruining your driving record. read more

Professors are nice but courses seem like more busy work and reading than actual thinking. Classes barely involved any significant discussions, classes seemed like many of the professors spent much more time reading directly from slides that were directly copy pasted from the book, discussion questions and prompts were taken directly from books. I don't find it engaging having teachers that's simply read the book to me. read more

Lmao I only post reviews when I'm angry or thoroughly satisfied with an experience. In this case, it isn't the latter. They screwed up on my financial aid and it took me an extra 2 months to get cleared for it. They realized they messed up and quickly fixed it without letting me know; they did it right then and there so they could cover their own tracks. This resulted in me having to pay literally a shit ton of money I could've fed a small army with for all of my textbooks and necessary materials. The employees in the office share a close character with monkeys. They don't know what they're doing and it's as though all they do is bang coconuts together and screech unknowingly when faced with any problem. They lack communication in all aspects with each other, and I had to go back numerous times to correct their own wrongdoings regarding my file. This makes me regret neglecting to sign up for university when I was supposed to because now I'm stuck going through the prospective motions at this poo poo palace. The online classes are a complete and utter nightmare. It is outdated and not user friendly. The teachers (some of them) are great for the most part. But the systems constantly glitch and erroneously function in ways that will ruin your grade. For example, there was a past assignment we never did that was subtracting from my overall grade because the teacher neglected to remove it prior to starting a new semester, what the hell man? I still haven't received my financial aid by the way, and it's been 2 1/2 months read more

I'm sorry, folks but there is a reason why i gave it a one star and that it the people at the campus are not as helpful as you think. EOPS gotten worse since they hired someone new from the city campus and believe me when I tell you this she's not going to be useful as some of you think and it is even harder to hitch a ride on the bus without paying the fare amount (As in no more free rides for Norco). If you truly care about going back to school that much then look else for better opportunities cuz RCC in general will not be a great choice for you. ;) read more

I had a great experience at Norco College. I only had trouble getting into one class and I was able to take it the following semester. It took me 2 years to graduate with my CSU transfer requirements and three associates degrees. I did not have priority registration of any kind but I made sure to research my classes and have back up plans if classes I had planned on were full. It's not high school, the counselors aren't supposed to hold your hand and walk through your journey with you. The cheap price means that students need to do a bit of their own leg work. The requirements for each degree are clearly laid out. It helps to understand them and to keep a copy on you any time you need to meet with counseling. My counselor is the person who encouraged me to apply to other schools in the area and continue my education. I graduate from CBU this month with a 3.93 GPA. I can confidently say that Norco prepared me for the University. read more

I am having the best experience at Norco. My main counselor is Eric Betancourt and he cannot be anymore helpful. His staff is always there to answer any questions I have and he breaks things down in a way that makes it easy to understand. He is always prompt with returning calls and emails. I had issues with other schools in the area but Eric and the staff at the veteran center put my mind at ease. It feels good to be around other veterans who get where you are coming from. Veterans stay away from Norco College. Especially Eric Betancourt Unfortunately my husband I had a very bad experience with Eric Betancourt in particular. Eric does not have the ability to run this office. He does not return phone calls, does not return emails, and when we showed up to find out what was going with the our classes, he wouldn't give the courtesy to come from behind his desk and speak with us. He sent his staff to relay messages to us and we were standing right there in the office. When we requested for him to come out to let us know why he failed to register our classes, he said he was too busy to stop what he was doing. Eric dropped the ball at least 15 times and as a result, the deadline to get into the classes needed were missed. Veterans stay away!! We found another school, registered for our classes, all of our paper work was handled right away and the staff of the new school demonstrated professionalism on every level. Our classes start September 5th and we all set. Eric does not represent Norco value system. I would suggest Eric's boss have him take another look at their mission statement and values. Others have asked about Norco and I turn the away. We both recommend Trident University. I will continue to do so as long as Eric is in that office. read more

First of all... I am dissappointed in the educational plans and limited options... I am dissappointed in the misinforming counselors [I've been given the wrong options since I first started mostly by Mr. Hill] There was another one who was more helpful I forgot his name, but he mentioned to me a lot of classes Hill guided me to take were unecessary. I also find it frustrating of the lack of classes, budget cuts, and my registration appointments always are when the classes I need are full ... It was a big waste of 2 years in my life, I should have just went straight to University ... which I'm currently finishing up in another year... Also the area is depressing. the classroom buildings remind me of a hospital ..... I've had great teachers for the most part though. I also like the honesty of the teachers such as how they give us inside information as to why textbooks are ridiculously priced and encourage us to buy older ones, they're very into what they're teaching, and they care about their students. Also do not buy books from the bookstore, buy them online ... unless you really have to... it's messed up how they dont do buybacks if a newer edition comes out and give you not even 50% of what you spent... read more

THEY ARE STUPID. I'm a student from UCR and I have been trying to get one of my classes cleared in order to take microbiology at norco college. I brought them a transcript that I ordered a few months ago specifically for them.... and when I brought it to them they said it was TOO OLD, even though the classes they needed were in those transcripts. ANNNND they opened my offical trasncipt which means I can't use it anywhere else. I had to pay for that....... So then I ordered a rushed trasnscript from UCR, which is 20 dollars... and I had to drive from fullerton to riverside, then to NORCO AGAIN, because I really needed this class cleared asap, and the counselor said that I will be cleared fine (he looked at my classes). I was annoyed of how far I had to drive, all the gas money and the money for the trasncript...but it would be worth it because I would be cleared. Well......... THEY DIDNT CLEAR ME. The lady said that I had the wrong prereqs? Even though the Bio I was trying to get cleared is a higher bio than the one that she needs.... and also the counselor told me it would clear me just fine..... BITCHES. and it smells like shit in this town. read more

I took a class here and it was extremely easy compared to the same class at Cal State Fullerton. LOL easy A. I would say that hard classes such as OCHEM and so on should be taken at Community colleges to get a better grade :D read more

I went to the Norco campus right out of high school. After one semester, I decided to commute to SCC in Orange from Corona. This was the best choice I could have made. I was surprised by the number of students from the corona/norco who would rather drive further and deal with traffic, than to go to Norco. I finally transferred to a 4-year University and needed my official transcripts from Norco. I was willing to pay the $10.00 same day fee, just to get it over with (Same day is free at SCC and Riverside campus). Norco couldn't do it because their printer was down. They don't have more than one? Really? So I decided to order it and pick it up in a week. They still didn't have it because the system was down. The person I dealt with acted as if it was my fault they weren't ready. I would highly recommend going to either the Riverside campus or to SCC in Orange. Norco is a joke. read more
