This is a warning for any future students considering enrollment. I am enrolled in their DMS program and am having the worst experience. They are extremely unprofessional and unorganized. My cohort was not informed about the new semester start date, the class days, or whether classes would be online, hybrid, or in person. Nothing. We are a few days into the 3rd semester, received the schedule the day of. If I had not woken up early on Monday to log in to Moodle, I would have missed the first day of class, since they did not inform us of anything. I sent emails to Heather Benevento (Director of Admissions) and Tammy Latu (Executive Director) with no reply. It took me sending a follow-up email for Heather to reply and say that I would hear back by the end of the day from either of them. Of course, to no surprise, I did not receive an email. Whenever I call the campus, my calls go unanswered. I leave messages, and they are not returned. They use the excuse that it's a new campus and ask us to give them some grace, but if you are late on a tuition payment, late to class, or miss a day, they will make sure you face the consequences ASAP. Turns out the schedule we were given for the semester is not even accurate. Our professor had to inform us today that our lab day is canceled because the school doesn't have the supplies (shocker!). And now we will have lab on a day we were told there was no class. What about those of us who have jobs? Doctor's appointments? Job interviews? This school expects you to form your life around them and only cares about getting their money and nothing else. read more

I've been reluctant to further my education due to financial concerns, but they really work with you here. The whole staff is so kind and welcoming. Marie has guided me through the process with so much encouragement, reassurance, and transparency. As long as you communicate, work hard, and take accountability for your part in the journey, you will be successful. They have flexible schedules, financial aid, and most importantly a great staff that wants you to prosper and provides all the resources you will need to reach your goals. I was in the LVN program and just recently passed my nclex and one of the biggest reasons why is Mr. Liquete was my instructor. If you're lucky enough to have him, you'll learn so much from him. Mr. Liquete is one of the most knowledgeable and passionate instructors I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and goes above and beyond to make sure we understand the material. His teaching style is clear, structured, and incredibly effective especially when it comes to breaking down complex concepts like pharmacology and pathophysiology. Official LVN from Cohort 121! The beginning of this journey was very bumpy, by our third term we had a new DON and a new clinical instructor, the difference was night and day! Mr. Adnan was quick to reply when I had any questions. Mr. Tim was very well organized, he was great! He improved our clinical scheduled by a lot! He worked hard to get us more clinical sites that would improve our learning experience, and listened to any concerns we had. Mr. Liquete is a beyond amazing, extremely competent instructor, you can really see how passionate he is about teaching through his lectures. Every single piece of advice, tips and tricks to testing, down to the positive affirmations he had us repeat everyday helped keep me focused and confident I was going to get through nursing school. Mrs. Anita is another theory instructor I would like to thank she was there for us all three terms, nursing school is really hard, she was very supportive and sympathized with us through every frustration we shared with her. She helped as much as possible to make sure we succeeded. Ms. Flo was one of my favorite clinical instructors, she had a lot of her experience to share with us, great advise to give as well, she made sure we put in practice all the skills we learned while at our clinical sites. Ms. Sarah was another clinical instructor that was very hands on along with Mrs. Kristin. Mr. Astorga was very creative when teaching us during our clinical sign offs. Mr. Marlon was another amazing clinical instructor, he helped us visualize everything we were learning, when we had questions he made it easy to understand the explanations and while out on our clinical sites he also made sure we put in practice everything we were learning. I will miss all the wonderful staff, my peers, but I'm taking with me the opportunity I had of becoming a nurse, making lifelong friends, and an incredible experience that will be locked for ever in my heart. read more

I have mixed emotions while writting this review because I want to be 100% honest with my feedback. I want this school to improve because you have the potential to have something very good here, just be consistent and choose wisely. Management matters, the first 3 terms were a nightmare to me. I have a set calendar because I have a family member that needs to be taken to med appts and therapies. My calendar is set at least 6 months in advance. The clinical coordinator never had the schedule on time, or maybe for her one night before was on time. For over a year I was not able to be there for my family member, only because the clinical coordinator was totally incompetent. The clinical coordinator was terrible to deal with, extremely rude, horrible manners. Instead of having an environment of sisterhood and positiveness, she created animosity. I actually believe she enjoyed making the students miserable. I have to say in 4th term everything changed for the best, Mr TIMOTHY ARRIVED. He is young, sweet, kind, positive, always willing to listen to the students and help us! Consistently through my time in this school there was an instructor that was always there for us and gave us hope and was always encouring us, his name is Mr LIQUETE :). He isnt only an amazing, an extremely smart NP, but also the best theory teacher, he would make theory class enjoyable. He was not scared to reply to hard questions, he would actually find the answer even if he didnt know it. He is AWESOME! The reason I finished my last semester is because of all of his moral support. He deserves to be recognized because he makes a huge difference. I want to give out a special shout-out to Mr Marlon, he was my favorite clinical instructor. He would teach a pathology so well that I could see it in my mind. Genius, creative and specially he teached in a fun way, not boring (old style). I cannot forget Miss Anita. This is a review for the second half of my experience for the LVN Program at North West Riverside.... The program drastically changed for the better when Mr Tim took over as assistant DON and Student Relations... He was really there for the students and if there were any concerns he would remedy it within days if not hours. I feel the morale of our cohort improved immensely, because it felt someone had your back... Ms. Britney, student coordinator, was amazing as well, she's very tentative and will always answer our questions in a timely manner. She's always encouraging as well, sending us messages to keep our spirits up and congratulating us when we do well... THe new DON, MR. Laquette, i wasnt personally in contact with him as much, but he also was very supportive and resolved any concerns we had. You can count on him to give us study material to help us on our journey. The three of them really made the second half of my journey way easier than the first half..... For Lecture, I primarily had Ms Melody and Mr Journey...MS Melody was very informative, and made me really understand a lot of the concepts we were learning, while Mr. Journey made class fun and made me want to listen to what he had to say..... For Clinicals Ms. Dee was awesome, she really made us understand what documentation is and how to be professional at the site.... Mr. Sam is my Quan though, every skill was learned at his site, I spent over 25 weeks at his clinical site and although I am not the best nurse, he made me feel prepared to be one... Ms Janice will always be the gem at North West Riverside, her attitude and joy really makes me want to teach nursing one day... I hope to have a long lasting relationship with all my instructors! I was 50/50 about referring anyone here for the LVN program, but after the last 8 months i can honestly say i would recommend NW Riverside to all my family and friends... First off, I felt enrolling into North-West College was rushed which is the reason for the 4 stars. The Admissions Rep was so fast I didn't have time to decide if I wanted to continue enrolling into this school or not and before I knew it, I was enrolled into the Medical Billing and Coding class. Otherwise, Mr Amir, my SOS instructor was very encouraging and gave us some good tips for when we start our core class. As nervous as I was to start school again, my core instructor, Ms Jamie Pace, made me feel comfortable. She is very approachable and helpful. She is very patient and understanding which is what is needed for this class as questions from students happen to be repetitive. She is also very encouraging as she wants to see her students succeed. She is definitely one that I would keep in touch with after I graduate. I would recommend if attending this school to have Ms Jamie Pace as your instructor if possible. I am currently in the LVN program (Class 125) at Northwest College Riverside, and I want to share my experience so future students are aware. This school does not provide the support they promise when it comes to tuition or personal concerns. If you request extensions on payments, they are unwilling to work with you, and private financial matters are openly discussed in front of others with no regard for confidentiality. The Campus Director Tammy shows little concern for students' health, personal life, or overall well-being--the focus is only on money. At the beginning, they tell you that everything is included, but hidden fees appear near the end of the program without warning. I have made multiple complaints to the director since Term 1 regarding payment issues and student conduct, but she dismisses concerns and instead threatens students with removal if any payment is late. This creates an environment of fear rather than support. I do not recommend this school. If you are considering Northwest College Riverside, be prepared for a lack of compassion, hidden costs, and an administration that does not prioritize students. I want to sincerely thank Mr. Liquete and Mr. Tim I just want to take a moment to truly thank you both for being such an important part of my journey through the LVN program. Your understanding, encouragement, and genuine concern for not only my success but also my overall health meant more to me than words can express. This was a very up down experience. This place was a mess when I first started horrible communication bad customer service but once Tim came in it felt like it definitely changed I would like to say he listened to the students and understood them made us felt heard and understood which is way more than I can say for the other cordinator 10/10 he made it a better experience so did Mr.Liquete he made me push my self and helped me motivate myself to continue and to never give up. Well it's official I'm a licensed Lvn Co-Hort 121. My experience here started off rocky to say the least. In my first term we were hacked and lost all info. Yet are group pressed on. The administration at that time had its challenges. Yet we pressed on. By fourth term things took a dramatic change for the better new administration was hired and changes started immediately. I would like to express my heart felt appreciation to my first instructor Ms Anita through all the challenges she got us through to fourth term and that was a task. The fourth term started with a bang. Mr Patrick Liquete took us under his wing and got us through the home straight. He was amazing and made my last term better than I even expected. His style of teaching was remarkable. Now I can't forget to mention my wonderful clinical instructor's Ms Flo, Mr Marlin,Ms Kay,Ms Kristy. All of them had their own way of teaching us how to function in clincials and the combination worked for my better. Don't expect to learn much here, they've changed everything to online, you don't even get physical books anymore, u have to rely on just notes pretty much or pretty much teach yourself on your own time.... Lots of students went from understanding and passing to a drop in grades and feeling like we don't know anything. This system makes me want to just drop out and forget about it because I'm not 100% confident in what I'm trying to learn, and I'm not trying to go out into the field not knowing anything. Lots of students have voiced their concerns but they don't care and are just ignoring all of us.. u get 1 lab day and I feel like that's not enough hands on time. I have been lucky enough to be assigned to Ms. C (Cadena) this semester and let me just say she has helped me learn to love school/learning. I used to be the student who was overwhelmed and discouraged to learn because of the way traditional schools are organized and now I am motivated and inspired to continue my education with NWC-Riverside. Went in for a sit down meeting with Cherish on Friday and she was the worst. She makes you doubt yourself and your career. She was making me second guess myself. She was telling me that maybe this career wasn't for me and that "are you sure you want to sit down looking at a screen, not building patient relationships, focusing on physics 24/7?" Aren't they supposed to persuade you into getting into debt with them She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to sign up for an MA program before I apply to the DMS program which was another $20,000 on top of the $50,000 DMS debt. She doubted me up until I scored really high on my Wonderlic exam and that's when she switched up saying that I didn't really need to do the MA program because I was smart. She was late to our meeting, was receiving phone calls and doing other stuff all while we were having a meeting. She then met with another student while meeting with me. Why are you scheduling your meetings so close in time if you can't focus on one person at a time? On top of that, when I spoke to her on the phone prior to meeting in person, I asked her when the next DMS start date was and she told me "we're always having those classes" but when I went in person she told me "we don't know when the next DMS class is it's probably until the beginning of next year" read more

I want to know why I'm being charged $28,000 for a term of 8/28/23-4/25/24 when I was blocked from picking up my books 12/17/23. Why did no one ever mention the deposit that was supposedly due in the beginning of the semester especially since I was already paying $350 every month. I will not stop until I get all of my money returned. I passed all my classes. I did nothing wrong. This school stopped me from continuing my education and then had the nerve to charge me for their failures. 3-4 long months of stress, gas in my car, time from work, my kids. This school is ridiculous. Paying all that money and for what? There have been so many times in class we weren't able to learn certain things hands-on due to not having supplies. The counselors seem to be a mess. They tell you to come in at a certain time to talk to them , they're not at the school, make another appointment, show up and once again they're not there. I had an appointment yesterday with a financial aid advisor so I could start my class again and they called and canceled less than 30 mins beforehand. Shouldn't someone of known that she wasn't there and to call idk maybe an hour or 2 before rather than 30 mins? Don't get me started on the bugs and cockroaches that hang out on the water fountains by the bathrooms. If we don't have supplies, the people in the office aren't very professional/organized, and bugs in the school then where the hell is the money we're paying going to?? Mrs goines in the pt class is the best teacher I've ever had from kindergarten to college I've never had a teacher like mrs g. She really cares whether your u understanding the material or not. In fact she even gets stressed out when you don't. Most teachers don't really care that much and won't take the time to help you as much as mrs g does. She even stays after class every time on campus to help us and any of us are welcome to stay after and get help on what we need and don't understand. If you are a pharmacy tech student I repeat STEER CLEAR OF JOHANNA SAPON. she is a Pt counselor not only is she rude and expresses that she is a narcissist. She also purposely tried to get me kicked out of the program because of a personal vendetta that I thought was squashed. This lady has had many students waiting for their externships to the point they didn't graduate the time they wanted. I will give her credit for being very strict for the requirements for externship SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED OR TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER CAMPUS for many things she has done but as long as she is getting students to their externship that is all administration is worried about the previous campus director was okay with her disrespectful ways and told us to basically get over it. That campus director is gone now after that point. She gets the job done for certain students but if you are not on her good side she will purposely screw you over. This school as admin is only getting 1 star because I was helped by other counselors. I basically did her job for her and found out about my own pharmacies to look for. On the day of my externship she purposely did not send me the address of the place making me drive 45 minutes to the campus and then to send me somewhere that was closed. She had no remorse and was proud of that. Luckily the rest of the staff was able to help me with the rest of my semester and helped to get the job Im currently at right now. PROS OF THIS COLLEGE: Mrs. Goines is the best pharmacy Technician teacher ever. She really makes sure her students really understand the material and she always loves answering any questions. She literally makes sure no student is left behind. Everything she teaches and emphasizes are really important in the real field and it was exactly as she says. Because of her amazing teaching skills and the help of Michelle and the campus for director Tammy and the friendly staff they have in this facility I was hired at the place I was training. So it's a guarantee as long as you just trust in what Mrs. G is telling you and skies the limit. Joined for the Surg tech program last year, they had a 3 week period before they made cuts promised a refund of registration fee if not chosen to go forward. I did my full 3 weeks they didn't choose me, a year later I'm still waiting for my registration refund. Spoke with Rosie once regarding it every time I tried to reach out after she was either busy or not in office and doesn't know how to call anyone back. Every time I've talked to someone else nobody knows anything and somehow theres no record online because they transferred computer systems or whatever new lie they came up with, every time it was something new. I have all my records put aside for this reason. The one lady who helped me in admissions was extremely rude and criticized me for deciding to not stick around for the next ST program, she chuckled when I told her I chose a different school and said why would you want to go there this is the better program. Don't knock a student for trying to find a better more affordable fit. I wouldn't recommend. read more
