(Musical Theater 1, Musical Theater 2, tap 1, tap/ballet , jazz and HipHop)He went from a boy with anxiety to this confident performer. He was in his second musical Mary Poppins this past weekend. To see him perform with the biggest smile made me cry. He was confident and was so excited about the show. The show was AMAZING!!!!!!!!It's been great watching not just my son but many of the cast members just grow in theater. Thank You Mr.Frank and Mrs.Yesenia for bringing out the best in my son. He himself thanked them after the show for teaching him the songs and the choreography. All his teachers are all wonderful , Mrs.Megan , Miss. Larissa, Miss. Jenna, Miss. Since the class has been practicing for a few months Andrew felt discouraged since they were already learning the song that they will be performing on the summer showcase. After trying the class he didn't want to continue since he was just starting and felt lost. Miss Jack told him she sees his talent and he can do it. She told him to come back the next week and try again. He tried again and he felt that he couldn't do it. Miss.Jack told him to think about it , she believes in him, if he still don't feel comfortable he can enroll after the summer showcase and start from the beginning. She was very sweet to him. On our way home he decided he wanted to continue!!! His words " mom , Miss.Jack believes in me. I want to take her class , I can do it " He's doing amazing. She knew how much he did want to take her class and encouraged him. I can't wait to see him on stage in June for the summer showcase. I also want to give a shout out to the parent volunteers.They're very helpful, it was so nice to hear from them how Andrew has grown so much in theater. Another shout out to Kyle , the front receptionist for being helpful and answering my million questions haha. Us parents don't just cheer for our kids we cheer for all the kids. I am thankful I found Valverde. They have help mold my son in this confident , happy , positive young performer. Can't wait to see him continue growing in theater !! The carpet was extremely dirty and heavily stained, which was especially concerning because the kids are walking around barefoot. There wasn't much instruction or interaction from the instructors. The instructor demonstrated the different stations, but the parents were expected to do each station with their child, which we weren't aware of beforehand. My daughter wasn't interested in participating, and I was struggling to get her involved. I was really hoping an instructor would step in and try to engage or encourage her, but no one did. At one point, my dad was encouraging her to try the bar, and one of the instructors stood at the gate with her arms crossed and repeatedly shook her head "no" at him. That interaction was especially disappointing and made us feel very unwelcome. We ended up leaving halfway through the class. I understand my daughter not wanting to participate contributed to the experience, but I expected more encouragement and support from the instructors, especially for a 3-year-old's first class.
