This company canceling on me ended up being great in the long run and I was able to secure great movers elsewhere at a better rate. So, Thanks. Update: To their comment below -- that explanation still doesn't make sense as you provided me with an outdated COI originally and canceled when I requested a new one. Can not say enough great things about this company! Starting with a very quick initial response and a very straightforward and honest quote, I was beyond impressed. I also appreciated getting a call on the day of the move to see if the movers could show up *sooner* than originally requested b/c they'd finished another job earlier. Charlie booked my move incorrectly and failed to confirm date of move, 6/15/2020. I had to call to confirm. He didn't know & thought it was rsv in July. I didn't like how some of my furniture was handled, i.e. one of the employees kept placing my $500 bicycle just outside of the moving truck as he moved other pieces of furniture. I kept telling him not to do that, for it can be stolen unattended. Both men grabbed the sides of my leather arm chair instead of carrying it from the bottom. As another rater pointed out, I jumped in to help and hasten the moving process. No disclosure of payment method at the end of the move. Cash is cheaper, but 4% surcharge for using a cc. I had to contact the mgr/owner to get my receipt. read more

I was nervous to let someone move my fragile items, as I have a lot of artwork (paintings, ceramics, etc.) in addition to standard kitchen items, but everything was wrapped in blankets and moved with care. I chose Lion & Bear Moving because they provided me with the lowest quote for my one bedroom apartment move and I didn't regret it! Due to COVID-19 and changed leasing office hours, I had to push the move back by 2 hours, which they accommodated easily. Al and George arrived promptly at 11am and had everything moved out in a bit over 1 hour. It took slightly longer to unload due to issues with the apartment elevators - not their fault. I can't sing enough praises for Lion & Bear. I called to reschedule my appointment the week of due to schools and businesses shutting down due to Corona and they easily accommodated me. I was able to push my move in date up by two days. They arrived early (which worked out well) and literally had my one bedroom apartment moved out in about 45 minutes. I wasn't moving too far away but they unloaded in just around the same amount of time. They were effective, pleasant, and no a scratch on ANYTHING! Just had a successful move from Washington DC to Nashville TN. El, Isaac and Lazar took care of us and made the process seamless. Professional, punctual and efficient - they worked hard despite the heat. We had already boxed, wrapped and padded most of our stuff but they helped us by disassembling and protecting the furniture, and they were gentle with our items. They also reassembled and arranged the furniture as we desired in the new place, which we greatly appreciated. Good service. Quick response. They helped unload a relocube into 1 bedroom apt. They do it fast and done in 2 hours. My apt is on the first floor. But there are many stairs outside of the building and a few stair to go to the apt. But the 2 gentleman moved everything smoothly. They really did a good job. Definitely recommend. We had a wonderful experience utilizing their professional service. Delivered the full move yesterday 11/19 after holding onto our items for 2 full days! They came and did a walk through, instead of a phone walkthrough. Which I found to be critical because they were spot on about time to load the truck and the time to unload which directly correlated to the best pricing and time of service to do the move from Arlington Virginia to Virginia Beach Virginia. Not to many companies want to do a physical walkthrough and then over charge you. Not the case with Lion & Bear. They should up when requested with a team of 3 and loaded their truck 2-3 hours faster (2 bedroom, basement) than all the other quotes I received. Everything was packed professionally and upon delivery they showed up early and put every item in their requested room, and assembled everything. Although affordable, I felt that they did not do a complete job. They left several items behind in my house, although they told me they had everything. They also asked me to put my TV in my car and then forgot to move it. I hired movers because I was not able to do it myself and had an extremely hard time moving the TV and what they had forgotten to move by myself. My other complaints is that I asked for the furniture to be reassembled and they left the plastic and a couple of items unassembled. Finally, I had clearly labeled the boxes to go on the lower level and those that were to go on the top level and they put the vast majority on the lower level. I'm having a very hard time moving some of these heavy boxes upstairs. Although pleasant and friendly, I would not recommend these movers. read more

However, once I got to the question of asking for proof of insurance, I never heard back (UPDATE: shortly after posting my review, they contacted me and said they would send it but have yet to do so!). While their moving rate is very appealing, not providing me with proof of insurance is not a good sign. Make sure to always ask for the before putting down a deposit! The team that moved our home did a great job, once they finally showed up. Unfortunately, their booking mistake caused a lot of extra stress. Our confirmation email was for March 29th, however they scheduled us for an April 29th move. After the arrival window had come and gone, we gave them a call to see if a crew was coming. They eventually made it right and had a different crew arrive about 4 hours after we called. You will be satisfied with the team that shows up, I would suggest anyone call the day before your move to confirm the arrival date/time and not rely on the email. read more

They just moved me and after not having everything packed in time, not only did they help but even worked 4 hours over to accomodate me. They went the extra mile and didn't complain once.
