I used Branch Out Moving a year and a half ago and I'm still finding my items scratched etc. I actually just took my $1500 bed apart that they put together for me and 4 screws were stripped. I had to run to Lowe's and buy a tool to get them out plus all new screws. They lost a shelf in our big tv unit, I'm not sure how, but it looks horrible now having 3 shelves and missing 1. But that isn't even half of what happened on my moving day. They showed up with an extra guy and a massive truck, GREAT! Well I go upstairs in my sons room only to see 1 mover sitting down on my boxes, he had opened my sons bedroom window and was vaping inside my home, in my child's room! Yes, I ran downstairs and told his boss and he said he would tell him to quit. An hour later I'm walking past my sons bathroom and this same mover is sitting on my sons toilet, pants down, door wide open (to get some light in because Duke shut the power off about 30 minutes prior) and he was having exploding diarrhea... yep, you could hear it and smell it. I ran down to tell his boss know what was going on. When the guy finally came downstairs he said he was sick so he went outside to rest. He came back in 30 minutes later and said he was ok. Mind you I never once saw him wash his hands. I asked him to please go clean the toilet and well, let's just say it turns out he didn't. Anyhow everything is now loaded and they're leaving, they didn't even tell me. I rush throughout the house to make sure they got everything and all was good, I was literally sprinting. They leave and I head to my new home to meet them. Well they didn't show up. I called them and the guy that had the exploding diarrhea needed to go to the ER, oh goodness! At this point I did call their office and let the office manager or maybe she was the big boss know what all had transpired and that they were at the Hospital... she had no idea. I did ask for a discount on my move! So they show up about 1.5 hours later without the sick guy and got the job done. However the boss that was with the moving crew proceeded to make me feel bad that I called their boss to let them know about everything, is this a joke?!? He even said to me yeah I heard you even asked for a discount. You better believe I did!!!They did take $200 off my final bill. So a couple of days later I get a call from my landlord at my last home I had just moved out of that the second bath (my sons) toilet was covered in poop. She was livid because her new tenant was moving in. I had to scramble to find cleaners day of, thank God I did. Anyhow that cost me $150 because I only had them clean the bathroom pretty much so I did let Branch Out know and the did reimburse me for the cleaners. Holy cow what an absolute NIGHTMARE! I get that no one can help that they are sick, but vaping in a home you're working in, let alone in a 9 year olds room! Then going poop with the door wide open I just cannot. Other than showing up hours later than expected, the crew sent from Branch Out worked hard to get the job done. We didn't have a lot to move but it's still a life changing thing to uproot and these guys were calm, cool and collected despite the 96 degree heat. Even with a late arrival they were able to get everything broken down, loaded, driven to another county and unloaded and placed in 3.5 hours. Be warned, even though the guys were polite and conversational, the female boss lady owner is rough around the edges. Branch Out was not our first choice, partly due to her gruffness. Don't let it put you off. Their availability and their No Surprises pricing with flat rate per hour and no ticky tack add ons made us glad we picked them. read more

The movers were nice, but asked several times, "Do you want to take this?" when we were taking everything. They also said they wouldn't be able to move something, despite my telling the office that we had it and the office said it would be "No problem." After telling this to the mover, he agreed to try and was able to do it. They took much longer than expected and we ended up having to move 4 carloads ourselves, after paying more than $775 for the move. They did not attempt to take any art, of which there was a significant amount, despite it being ready to be wrapped, as they advertise. The movers did not tell us when they were going to lunch, so we waited at the new house for 40 minutes longer than expected. Once they arrived, we helped them move things off the truck to save time and they eventually just started to hand us things. I would not use them again. read more

We used three movers and a truck to move out of our apartment and storage unit, and into a new build. The guys were on time, extremely professional and had a good hustle. A couple of our pieces are a nightmare to move (hello, 8 ft bookshelves that need to go upstairs...) and our movers put a lot of thought and effort into transporting them safely. I appreciate how well they wrapped our items and even took measures to protect our floors and walls. It was made clear upon booking that we would need to load at our apartment and storage unit before unloading at home. However, our movers seemed surprised by the stop at the storage unit on the day of the move. It worked out easily, but there was certainly some miscommunication. As the moving truck left, it left tire tracks across the front bit of our neighbors yard. The issue was acknowledged almost immediately by Lisa. After a small communication hiccup, it was ultimately resolved to our satisfaction. read more

Absolutely Ah-mazing service!! This crew showed up on time, did a quick walkthrough, and got to work! One young man picked up a box as soon as he came through the door. Loved it! They consistently worked even when my partner was trying to talk them to death about sports. He said "I'm gonna talk but I gotta keep moving". They were careful with my things, didn't make me feel embarrassed about all my loose crap and just took good care of me. One of their employees stole from us. I filed a police report. I tried to get them to respond to my calls and these criminals refuse to call me back. Don't let these people in your house. This was not my best experience with a moving crew. The scheduling initially got screwed up, and they had me down for the morning appointment when I requested the afternoon. Fortunately, the owner was able to fix that but apparently she didn't let the crew know, and they almost showed up at 10 am instead of 2 pm. When they did show up around 3:30 pm, one smelled of smoke. The three men weren't very professional, and didn't even introduce themselves to me. One guy ran into a chandelier and didn't apologize. Another mishandled one of my boxes and kept trying to force close some of them, when they were meant to be open. When they were unloading my stuff at my new place, they were incredibly loud and cursing (it was not only unprofessional but embarrassing to have my new neighbors have to hear this), and one took off his mask somewhere along the way. I had to call him out on it, especially because there was only one elevator and we were all riding up and down together. They'd leave my bed covers on the elevator floor (where dogs from the apartment complex have urinated before), and didn't take good care of my stuff. I have to go through everything to make sure nothing was broken, but I would NOT recommend them. Only good thing was the quote was cheaper than a lot of other places I was looking at. Update: the owner refunded some of my money a few days after the move, and I appreciate that she took the time to hear my feedback and rectify the situation. I didn't have a lot to move, just enough for a one bedroom apartment, but they got it done quick. I moved from Cary to Raleigh and it only took a little over 3 hours. My only gripe is that things were not stacked very well when they were unpacked, and some screws to shelves were missing- nothing that couldn't be replaced at Home Depot. Moving is always stressful - especially when it's long distance and getting close to the holidays. You know what makes it less stressful? Extremely polite, professional, and energetic staff to get you the services you need! Initial contact (5/5): I conducted the scheduling over the phone with ... (his name escapes me - sorry!) who walked me through their available services, pricing, and availability. We were able to get me on the schedule 10 days out (4 hour arrival window) within our 15 minute phone call. Services (5/5): I requested just labor to move boxes and furniture for a one bedroom apartment from a personal trailer in the parking lot to the third floor of the apartment. Based on the quantity, it was suggested that I use a two man crew and that it would take about 2 hours (the minimum). Communication (2/5): When booking my appointment, we spoke in detail about layout, entrances, amount of furniture to be moved, etc. to adequately prepare the movers for the job. When the moving team called to let me know they were on the way, they asked the same questions which I answered, and then all over again when they arrived so it didn't seem like anyone was taking note and passing info between their team members. I did not receive an email confirmation nor any confirmation/reminder leading up to the scheduled time. I wish there would have been some communication confirming the appointment (again, logistics of moving from several hours away). However, I called right at 8am day of and the woman confirmed I was on the schedule and the the window they'd be arriving in. The Movers (2/5): About 3.5 hrs into the delivery window, I get a call from the movers saying they would arrive in thirty minutes. An hour later they called and said they were stuck in traffic and would be there in "about 30 minutes" and confirmed my address. They arrived 45 minutes later and I showed them the situation (entrances, ramps, stairwells, furniture/boxes, etc.) The lead was adamant he wanted to use the elevator (understandable), but there is only (a small) one and it's on the opposite side of the building. There was quite a bit of back-and-forth about this between the two and the lead finally agreed to just bring it up the stairs and they started. However, one complaint I had was all the "staging". The lead would move a piece of furniture and stage it for the next guy - who really took it up the stairwell by himself. Since it took the one guy longer to take it up the stairs than it did for the lead to get it off the trailer, he would leave the next piece of furniture 10-15ft behind the other. This resulted in my furniture being strewn from as far as the top of the stairs, down the hallways, out the entrance, all down the sidewalk, and into the parking a lot. Pretty comedic but stressful all at the same time. Ultimately, the guys weren't very efficient but did a good enough job since nothing was damaged or broken in the move. Payment (2/5): There seemed to be confusion on the final price (I was told a 2 hr minimum when booking, but the lead said it was 3 hrs - about a $125 difference - another reason a confirmation would be helpful). It was the end of a long day, and I didn't fight it. I paid with a debit card, but the lead didn't have a way of taking payment himself. Instead, he had to call a few people and I had to pay over the phone. I wasn't very comfortable with this since I had no idea who I was paying, but I did recognize the voice as the employee who booked my appointment, so I proceeded. Final thoughts: This was my first time using a moving company and it was 100% worth it! I've seen some pretty bad reviews for other local companies, and while this one has its flaws, I believe them to be related more to mediocre business practice rather than poor business ethics. This company has a lot going for it and I hope management sees these opportunities to improve their practices for a better customer experience. read more

Very unhappy The first problem I had was when they turned my dresser upside down .I asked if they wanted the dresser emptied, No they replied I was not in the bedroom when they turned it over I have moved several times and at no time was the dresser ever turned over , So a box that I have never taken out of the drawer except by me was turned over also ,the box contained coins my husband had collected over the years all gone including the key to my strong box All lost . Secondly I also have a carton missing have inquired about never heard from them its, contents had small Albums of my children at their first Thanksgiving in our new home. And my Grandsons graduation Picture I I don't know what else was in the carton . But i guess I will never know Both men I had by the way were very nice and they did a great job even set up some of the furniture for me and put my bed together . I learned about Branch Out Moving on Yelp and spoke on the phone with a rep about rates and pricing. Our family of four was moving from a 1400 sq ft apartment (plus 2 garages) to a 2400 sq ft unit about 12 miles away. Considering other estimates, I found their rates to be very competitive and appropriate for our needs. I hired a 3 person crew (they also offer 4 movers for a job) and easily scheduled my preferred move date (over 4 weeks in advance). I received standard confirmation several days before the move date and had regular phone and email contact. The movers arrived on schedule, had our belongings packed and loaded within several hours, and had the move completed at our new home at the end of the business day. The movers were prompt, diligent, courteous and responsive. I was especially impressed when the rep addressed additional concerns following completion of the move. I would definitely consider this moving and delivery company again for any other jobs and I'd recommend them to any potential customer with experienced, reasonable expectations for residential moving. read more

Moved couple of days back. People are good but terrible movers. Broke my master bedroom cot. Put a hole thru a new coffe table. Broke a desk this was within 5 min move. The reimbursement for all that is 50 dollars . Supposedly it's my fault I bought particle board furniture not wealthy enough I guess. Would never go back to them. Found more broken furniture today. I'd give them twenty stars if I could. Everything from the expert planning assistance with Lisa, to the move itself, with Kenny, Rudy, Tony, Travis, and Marquis, went so much better than I expected. And these guys worked so hard. Everything was wrapped, padded, and diligently secured to deliver it as safely as possible. They made absolutely everything work, and kept smiling even as we approached hour twelve. Had it not been for Lisa's expertise in planning the crew/trucks to suit out move, I have no idea where we'd be- probably pulling boxes off of our porch until dawn, or going back to the old house with a second truck today. A twelve hour move is stressful, and I hope to never, ever do it again, but if I did, Branch Out would be the only place I'd call. Seamless from planning to delivery. I'm absolutely thrilled.
