We saw it and loved it right away, and an employee quickly told us it was the last one. We are building a new home and thought it would be amazing in our foyer, so we bought it. We have purchased expensive furniture at numerous different stores around the Madison area and at one time we had some issues with an item we purchased in Madison. That store went ABOVE AND BEYOND, telling us they would do anything to make it right. Refund, store credit, sending a repair person to our home were all options they gave us. When we bought this table neither one of us recall anyone saying that the sale was final and there were no returns. However, it does say that in the small print on our receipt. To our shock, we learned the table was too long for the spot we intended it for and we have no other place for it. Due to the cost (almost $2,000.00) we reached out to the store to see if we could return it - and we even told them we would be happy with store credit so we could find another, smaller table. The person on the phone was rather short and to the point, telling us "There are no refunds or exchanges, we told you that when you bought it". When we tried to explain that nobody told us that, and we were willing to just get store credit so they would not lose out on a sale, they told us "You will have to talk to the OWNER" who was not there. So we asked for the owner to call us at her earliest convenience. My wife received a call from another employe who was NOT the owner, and she said "I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do". WARNING: If you are looking for good customer service and a store that cares about their customers and will stand behind their products, I would suggest you DO NOT shop here. We have spent a lot of money at this store over the years and this was a major purchase. They did not seem to care if they lost a good customer and all future sales from us.

Too adorable for words, and from Johannesburg, S. Africa. Had to have them for a 2 year old in the family who loves her shoes. The shopkeepers are old school in a way: it's their shop and they have a personal connection to the gifts, very knowledgable about their provenance. It is my first adventure outdoors since the polar vortex settled for three days with -50 below wind chills, and the brightly colored Pendleton blankets tucked inside a cabinet are tempting. The Juniper incense provides a blanket of warmth for the senses--what a wonderful welcome on a winter's day. My friend, a practicing shaman, has a birthday coming up and I buy the incense ($5/20 bricks) from Santa Fe for her, along with a Juniper smudge stick ($5). Katy displays jewelry so it easy to view the pendants and earrings and bracelets...too lovely. She also has stunning vintage silver and turquoise pieces, as well as simple traditional ghost beads. The silver and coral jewelry catches my eye. Ojibwe woven baskets will make a nice gift. Katy is always friendly and encourages customers to take their time and appreciate what she offers. It is easy to move around in the store. Everything is in display cases or shelves on the wall--and just enough, not overwhelming, definitely not gathering dust, and no narrow aisles. Her little dog is sweet and lucky dog has a beautiful turquoise on his collar. She keeps recent issues of Native American newspapers by the door for $2.00. What a gift this independent business owner has created on Monroe Street. I'll be back for a blanket.

The items the sell is such a nice variety of handmade jewelry, wool hats/scarves, wall hangings, lip balme and great tasting coffee; you don't feel like it is a store you would visit just once. The staff is knowledgable about the products and share with compassionate hearts; the mission to help people get out from underneath exploitation. Always feels like we are part of the healing process, and not just customers. The shop is in great location as well. A nice quite neighborhood, that doesn't have a lot of traffic and is easy to get to off of Atwood, or Milwaukee St. Will continue to support this shop and it's necessary mission!
