I know Nordstrom is in a state of transition right now, but in the state of online shopping, post covid, and big changes for this company, it was a really lovely spot to do some holiday shopping at. I've been coming to Nordstrom since high school, and I've always loved how much of a variety of items they have. They have the ability to reach a variety of customers and offering a variety of items at different price ranges. They really have it all- shoes, jewelry, bags, activewear, formal, kids, designer, beauty. They had some great deals happening and it was very clean. Staff was helpful and pleasant. I was so used to Nordstrom at the Galleria that I actually dreaded coming here. I had an online return to make. I ordered boots in 8.5 and I was sent an 8. I walked up to the cash register where there were 5 people standing around, but I think they just had a quick meeting and then quickly dispersed as I reached the counter. A woman greeted me and helped me with the return right away. She was almost finished when I told her what had happened. She quickly changed her demeanor, I assume she was on auto-pilot, but my one-off threw her off. She was appreciative of me sharing the information and even took it a step further to write down my order number. I didn't want these to be bought by someone else who gets disappointed by the factory mess up. She finished and wished me a great rest of my day. read more

I have never shopped at Nordstrom before and it's been years since I've been at West County Mall. I went to the store with my daughter to look for a dress for to wear to her wedding. The sales associate who worked with us, Theresea , was super!!! She helped pick out many different dresses for me to try on and listened to my requirements. This was the day the mall went on lock down. I was trying on the 2nd dress and Theresea informed the customers, one at a time, about the lock down and what the procedures would be. She was very calm and reassuring. She took great care of all the customers, she took us back to the stock room and remained calm the entire time which kept us calm and we all took care of each other as well. - not knowing why there was a lock down at the time is a scary situation. She is genuinely a kind and caring person. When the lock down was over I went back to trying on dresses. Theresea continued to take excellent care of the customers and kept the ordeal in mind and checked in on how we were doing emotionally as well. I found the perfect dress with her and my daughter working together on color and style. She brought in the seamstress to get opinions on what alterations would be needed. This is where the 4 stars comes in - I'd rather give 3 stars but Theresea bumps it up from that to a 4. The seamstress could not have been more rude and unkind to me. I do not recall her name. When I asked her about options to make an issue more comfortable (it was explained to Theresea my special circumstances and shared with the seamstress initially as well) the seamstress told me I'd just need to deal with it for a few hours (basically told to "suck it up"). That comment could be forgiven as being just an insensitive comment and could be overlooked in the scheme of things. When I explained why that wasn't an option on my daughter's wedding day - since I live everyday "sucking it up" due to chronic nerve pain her response was "other people have it worse". That response was more than insensitive. For this reason - I will not be using their alteration services, and I won't give Nordstrom a 5 star rating. The lockdown was out of their control and the way Theresea handled it was an instant 5 star rating - the seamstress knocked it down and I am very disappointed in how I was treated by her. It was very unprofessional of her to speak to me that way when I tried very nicely to explain my reasons for asking if there's any way to be more comfortable - not asking her opinion on if I should deal with it. I bought the dress as I fell in love with it. I highly recommend going to Nordstrom and asking for Theresea if needing help shopping for women's dresses. read more

Staff is dishonest and impolite. It's a shell of what it was prior to Covid. I think the bad decisions are coming from Corporate and filtering down. Lingerie staff could barely interrupt their private conversation to check me out, let alone wander back to dressing area (this was in May). Today, I purchased a Clinique loose powder for a very specific purpose and was sold the complete wrong shade because there were only two shades available - one for African/darker tones and the lighter shade. The lighter shade is entirely unsuitable for my fairer skin but THE SALESWOMAN did not care; I'll be returning. Nothing really to purchase on the floor. This has never happen before and I don't understand why I am not able to return to nearest Nordstrom and exchange a new one Customer service advised me to ship it back and wait to be refunded. As a Nordstrom.com weekly shopper it is nice to be able to run in and return items quickly without hassle. This store does not have the inventory their online store has, but is still a great place to frequent. When returning online purchase I have never been given anything but stellar customer service. I have returned multiple formal gowns and shoes at once and never given the stink eye. The isles are wide and spacious. The appointments are nice. Employees everywhere. The cafe' is a great place to meet over lunch. Very clean store. There are many parking areas to access this store. read more

If you are a plus size woman, don't shop here for clothes. They have gotten rid of the "Encore" department. You can still shop online but that's tricky. For example, I ordered a pair of NYDJ pants online. When they came I tried them on and they were huge!! So I had to send them back and order two different sizes, hoping one those pair would fit. It would be very helpful if things could be tried on and purchased at the store. read more

So what happened to this Nordstrom? Customer service is terrible, the floor (at least upstairs) is way under staffed and the staff that is on the floor is not super helpful. For instance I was looking for a shirt for family pictures, I wanted a navy or red wine colored shirt. When I asked the lady (from whichever section NYDJ is sold) if they had any good navy or red wine colored shirts she said "oh I'm sure there are some around, let me know if you find something and need a room". Hmmm that's not what I was hoping for. Then there was an older lady in the shoe dept that had no knowledge of shoes and a super attitude! It was bizarre. The staff that used to be there, like 4 years ago was awesome! Now it's sub-par. I hate to be like this but are the employees at Nordstrom aware they are there to help/serve us the customers? So for the time being I will be ordering my (and family's) stuff Nordstrom online and will dread the days I have to make returns. November 2018 I just don't understand this place. The majority of the people that work here have the worst attitude. The only ones I have encountered that don't seem to hate their job are the ones in the men's department and a few in the shoes. The ladies upstairs in tbd and bp are just down right pissed off at the world. I walked around with my hands full of stuff I wanted to try on for over 10 minutes, then I had to ask for a room and a lady said "yeah they are right there" pointed me in the direction-didn't grab the stuff, or help in any way. I was looking for a mother of the bride dress. We were a little lost in the store, I asked an associate for assistance. She pointed to the corner of the store and said "The dresses are over there." Sadly the ladies in the dress department was not much more help. I hadn't been to this location of Nordstrom in awhile and came here since I happened to be at the mall anyway. The handbag selection here seemed uninspired, in fact I have had better luck at The Rack with bags. Wandering through the first floor I remembered that I needed Clinique SPF moisturizer and was able to locate the product in question. The saleswoman in cosmetics was friendly and was not overly insistent when I told her that I didn't want to purchase anything additional to qualify for the Clinique Bonus. It looked like the cosmetics section was well organized, and expansive. Just don't come here expecting to find that dream handbag. read more

I love Nordies, just not this one as much. Particularly their shoe section. They do not not carry premium designer brands for shoes which is a bummer! the one at galliera has a better selection. I have to share what happened to me at Nordstrom. I have lost a few pounds and I wanted to purchase a new suit. I wanted a good new suit. So I pull up to West County Center and bang there is Nordstrom. It was like calling my name. I walk in (first time ever) find the men's clothes and was waited on by a very nice salesperson. He measures me for the suit and goes over and picks one for me to try. It was love at first site. I want that suit it is perfect. I am so happy. We go back to the fitting room and I put on the suit and the tailor comes out and measures and fits the suit. I notice one things that bothered me. The suit "bunched" at the button and the button was off to the left. I point this out and she takes her notes and no problem. I walk out and I am thinking I could really like this place. I come back to pick up the suit at Nordstrom (my last ever visit) and this is how it became a one star for me. Waited on fast they go back get the suit and I try it on. Pants perfect, Suit coat still has the "bunch". They ask me if everything is OK and I point out that the one thing I wanted to be fixed is not. Out comes another tailor and they rearrange the coat and pull it push grab it everything and still the "bunch". The tailor says how wonderful the suit looks from behind. I tell her great but the person who is paying for the suit only sees the front and he is not happy. She called her manager the alterations manager. Who comes out and goes through the same routine as the first tailor. She also tells me how nice it looks from the back. I again repeat what I said. I also added I was not purchasing a $200 suit II was purchasing an $850 suit and I wanted it look like one. I kept saying this is Norstroms I expect more than what I was being offered. So I go into my stare mode. I just stare until someone speaks first. The tailor manager speaks and to my surprise she starts pointing out all the flaws in the suit. The shoulder is wrong, the color is mismatched and did I notice that? No I did not notice that and it does not matter to me I want the bunch in front fixed. She then tells me it can't be fixed. I turn to the salesperson and tell him I won't take the suit nor am I happy with this whole situation. He of course is very sorry and he goes to the cash register and refunds my money. I look at him and say you know I am going to walk right out of here and go to "Men's Warehouse" and buy a suit. Which is what I did. Saved some money and was treated better than at Nordstrom. I am amazed that a place built on customer service was so bad. I just don't understand. I don't think I was being picky do you? read more

Hey guys. My name is Leslie and I shop @ Nordstrom cuz I have deep emotional issues that can only be healed by expensive designer clothes. ANYWAYS On to the lighter stuff! I love Nordstrom! :-) They have uniquely designed clothing that's high quality and made with interesting details/textures. This store carries a lot brands that I love. Like Free People. Ladies: SHOP THE JUNIORS SECTION! They aren't too expensive! I got a seriously adorable floral pleated skirt there today for under 20 dollars. Not bad. And a few other shirts for 30$ or something. My only complaint is that their customer service isn't good compared to the Nord at the galleria. I mean..if I'm the only one in your department, at least say hi and acknowledge my existence. I hate shopping. But Nordstrom's makes it bearable. The stores are atypical of what you are used to. The store is organized, clean, with wide aisles and high quality products. I had to pick out a nice outfit for a special occasion. After fumbling around for a few minutes I noticed a salesperson nearby. The people that work here are AWESOME. They're more like personal shoppers than salespeople. He spent the next 45 minutes getting to know me, my tastes, what I'm looking for and set me up with a cool outfit. They used to have great customer service. Today I had to call 3 times in a row after being transferred to phones that just rang 20 times with no answer. I finally reached someone who was able to find the items I needed. She then asked how I wanted to pay for them and I wanted to put them on my regular credit card, as always. She said they can't take credit cards by phone. Seriously? Then how do people order by phone? I'll take all my business elsewhere permanently. (They should have a recording before even connecting you that they don't want your business if you want to use anything except their "Nordy" card! I used to have one, but let it expire, so now they are expired from my list of stores. I called Dillard's St. Louis Galleria, got a phone answered by a human immediately, who transferred me to my favorite person, Judy, who took and bagged up my order and took my credit card! They don't have a MAC counter at her store, so she is calling another store that does and will have them ship my product free. read more

I only come here to replenish my premium jean addiction (and free pants hemming) or to cop a pair of awesome heels that just happened to be on sale. I've had some issues in the past when I've come here shopping. No one seems to acknowledge me in the women's dresses department. I might dress a little too St. Charles County instead of West County for their taste but I've got my reasons. If I'm going to be trying a lot of clothes on I plan my outfits to be as changing room friendly as they can be. If you want to ignore me fancy dress workers, it's your loss. Sorry I don't look like a rich old lady. Galleria's Nordstom can make the sales you won't. The real part of my review is for my lingerie fitting I had today. Joh-Anna worked with me for over an hour. She did a basic measurement to get started but from there I tried on bras to get an idea for my actual size. I was way off on my own guesses but with her help I found about 10 bras I fell in love with. Sadly I do not have the funds to take 10 bras home with me (they ranged around $60-$90 each) but I did end up finding several I could not live without. The manager of the lingerie department also helped me with the bras, consulting on how I could tell why a bra didn't fit so I could be a more empowered shopper in the future. Seriously, that's the biggest help in the world. Ladies, if you're super modest these kind of fittings might not be for you but you will get such a great fit that it's worth just taking a deep breath and going for it. I have 4 of the cutest bras in the world now and they really work to make you comfortable. I could hear another associate working and she seemed just as professional as the team members I met. 5 stars for the lingerie department and a discount of 1 star for the mean guards of the dresses. read more

I love Nordstoms. They have an excellent selection for both men and women. They have excellent service and an even better return policy. I purchase a significant amount of my clothing here and always have a great experience. The service - the people working here always have a great sense of style and can help a person find their own style. They are always polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Their policy - if you're not happy with your purchase return and either find something you are happy with or get your money returned...for any reason. I go to the Galleria location more frequently than any because it is closer to my house. However, if there is something they have, but not in my size they either get it from another store or have it delivered to my home. The prices are a bit on the higher end. Of course, no one likes to pay more than they have to, but for me I would rather spend a little more on quality rather than a little on something that isn't going to last me very long. Now don't get me wrong, there are some items I wouldn't spend the money on here, but what I do I am very pleased. read more

I just felt compelled to share my customer service experience I had while dealing with the West County Mall Nordstrom on 08/31/2016 when I was helped (if that's what you want to call it) by Paul Flora. Paul seemed completely put off by me and wouldn't even look me in the face when he talked. At first he just said he couldn't exchange the item to the correct size because it wasn't in the store and was bought during the semi-annual sale (even though I've done it before) but luckily another employee corrected him saying that the transaction was available. Even though another employee corrected him, Paul still went through with returning my purchase and asking me to buy the shoes again. I don't know if he wanted the commission or didn't know what he was doing (I've never had an employee ask me to do that with an online order) but he seemed hassled, annoyed, and was rude the entire time. I thought it was fine because, admittedly, it was easier than having to deal with shipping the shoes back and at least I had the right shoes. When I received the confirmation I saw that my order was completely wrong. The size of the shoes, the billing address, and the shipping address were all incorrect. I had to call customer service and spend an hour trying to figure it out (or having another employee have to clean up Paul's mistake). I understand order and transaction mishaps happen, it's just how life works and I'm usually very understanding, being someone who makes mistakes, when it comes to other people making mistakes. I just felt like Paul was so rude and belittling, which is treatment that I don't feel anyone (customer or not) should stand for. It truly pains me to give a Nords only two stars. I absolutely ADORE Nordstrom. But, the selection here is literally so bad and so three seasons ago that I think I'm being quite generous with the two stars. At first glance, it appears the shoe department is fairly sizeable - but they carry only the most basic (if you're lucky) and the least cute of most designers. One time I asked one of the salesgirls if they had the Enzo Xpect Mary Jane in gray and she definitely looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Oh, we don't get anything like that," which was just bizarre because I thought it was a pretty basic (and very cute) shoe. The Savvy and T.B.D are kind of a joke. The BF has much better luck than I do in the Rail and in men's suits. SIGH. I am typically a big fan of Nordstrom in general, and this particular location has been no exception. My experiences here have been very positive. For starters, they are opened for more standard mall hours (unlike the comparable stores at the Frontenac) which makes it easier to do any necessary shopping during the week. Their The Rail section, which is typically along the lines of my wardrobe, has a nice selection of attire very similar to the one I used to visit in SF, which I was very pleased to discover. More specifically, I recently had an excellent experience purchasing slacks for work. Ellen worked with me patiently to find the right cut, colors and sizes even after I gave her some initial misinformation. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions with good and candid advice. Additionally, she offered to help me find shirts, ties, etc. if I should so need them -- not in a pushy way, in a good-salesperson kind of way. And my favorite part is that when I asked for a very accelerated turnaround time on the tailoring of the slacks (I think 3 days), she made the arrangements, and then ended up calling me the following evening to let me know they were ready even earlier! I love going into this store and dreaming. I pretty much can't afford anything here, not even on the clearance rack. Doesn't stop me from going in to look at all the pretties! As far as the other items in this store, I have found them lacking somewhat in style and options. The makeup area is pretty good as is the jewelry, but I never had much luck with the clothing. But when it came to the shoes? That is different. As usual, I used to buy shoes here when they had their annual, bi annual, whatever annual sales. You know, where they have the big racks of shoes up and we women go in there as if foraging for food for the village. I don't think I have ever bought a pair of shoes full price here, I've always waited for the sales. It's the ideal resource for a large and wonderful shoe selection, in addition to its great range of women's apparel, from the young/trendy/affordable B.P. department to the lustworthy areas of Savvy and Collectors, and much in between.... But what I'm really here to obsess over is their lingerie department. Why anyone continues to shop at Victoria's Secret, I will never know. You may as well not buy nice clothing at all if you won't fork out some money for nice underthings. You can't shop there without being offered a fitting at least once or three times, and it's for a reason. Take them up on the offer! Trust me, you are not in the right size and you're too young to have that low of a bust-line. It's a dreamland of Chantelle, Fantasie, Freya, Le Mystere, Hanky Panky, Spanx, On Gossamer, Vera Wang sleepwear, Barefoot Dreams deliciousness.....and there's a healthy serving of Wacoal, Natori, Felina, Calvin Klein, and DKNY (I consider these vendors overrated, but that's just me). We were visiting in the STL area a few weeks ago.Their galleria does not have Nordstrom's or Neiman's as anchor stores so we had to drive out of the city a bit to find. Once we were there,we expected bar none customer service,if I could rate it no stars that is how bad the service was and we walked directly through customer service and not one person said hello throughout our entire visit.The associate in Glassware was extremely friendly after we shared we were there to purchase a wedding gift and dropped a considerable amount of money-never visit this location again!! read more

Nordstrom is a real, old-school store where service is more important to them than sales. I've bought a couple suits from Nordstrom and they will always find the right suit for you. They listen to what you like and want, and give their educated opinion about what will work or not. It's the most pressure free sales environment and it's inspired me to be a faithful customer. Sure it's more expensive than Men's Wearhouse, but when you're buying a top quality suit and get top quality service, It's worth every penny! read more
