We always stop here when visiting Albany as there are not too many Racks in our area. Over the years I've scored some great shoes and coats here as well as a few casual bags. The selection of clothes here leaves a lot to be desired though. I'd recommend going online for clothes from the Rack. Conveniently located right in the mall also with a separate entrance. Easy parking in and out if you're just coming for this store too. Highly recommend for shoes and outerwear! read more

I travel to Albany a lot and always spend money here. Things that don't sell well tend to get moved around. Some of the same pieces have been there since last year. Take your time and you can find some gems. The cashier lines can get quite busy and the staff don't even try to appear like they want to help each other. I'm basing this review mostly on my wife's comments while the two of us were there. I'm not the experienced shopper. Very little actual designer clothing. Mostly clothes made in China. I myself, did see some blouses made in New York. What a surprise that was! There weren't any cables with locks securing the clothing, so that might be an indicator of how much value the store places on their wares. They did have security devices on some of their purses however, and stickers on the shoe racks warning you to not shoplift or they will prosecute you. We did have one friendly staff person ask us if we needed any help. On a scale of 1 to 10 my wife gave them a four. So I've concluded that this rating has to be only two stars. read more

Came here for the grand opening event and lines of people quickly formed to gain entrance to the new store. The outdoor entrance is on the first level of the mall next to The Cheesecake Factory and LL Bean. The inside entrance is located right across Christmas Tree Shop. With a bright and fun appearing exterior, it did not disappoint with the items it carried. The 1st floor has less items but once you take the escalators to the 2nd floor they have a section for women's, men's, baby and toddlers, accessories, shoes, perfumes/fragrances, handbags, and a huge sunglasses wall. The checkout lane seemed to be efficient and the fitting room staff friendly and welcoming. One of the fitting room staff mentioned that the Rack has a store-specific tailor to assist with all tailoring needs...pretty neat and convenient. There are quite a few clearance racks within and I found a few items each only $5! The rest of the store is a steal considering the highly discounted prices from brand names and designers. We will see if the store can keep it up with all the trends and fashion statements... but this is a plus in my book as I think Albany needs to step up its game! read more

If there was a 6th star, it would checked! I am a super fan of The Rack but this location presents better than Nordstrom (the real/ expensive 1) I've ever visited!!! Nice clutter free entry way that places you on an escalator that takes you to the gates of high quality, popular, brand name fashion district!!! Everything was so nice, orderly and easy to identify. The racks were correctly loaded w the items and all sizes in just about everything. Fantastic customer service and conversation by cashier representative (Kathleen R.). She was personable yet able to answer questions asked as well move at a expedited pace. I've never been so super pleased w making a clothing/ accessory purchase in my life! The additional 25% off of clearance items sure made this trip a lot more bearable too! I cannot think of 1 bad thing to say about this neighborhood gem! Hmmmm, dressing room is a little small but that's because I took 6.8 million items to try on! Haha Otherwise the dressing rooms were awesome, clutter free w/o the nuisances of push pins laying around etc. Prefect mirror and lighting, etc. The return clothing rack was bare! Yes, bare! Someone persistently gathers and rerack them in a quick manner. Pretty, clean, tasteful decor, wide clothing floor w plenty of walking, cart pushing and loitering space to make executive clothing purchase decisions. Obviously I am not from the area and may not ever return but if so, I'd probably stop here to stock up on fashionable goodies PRIOR to checking in to hotel!!! Joking... Not joking!!! read more

I walked in this store with my son protesting that I didn't need any more clothes so as you can see it didn't start off well. Soon as I walked in iI wasn't impressed and sure didn't understand the hype on this hot mess of a store. Things just seemed organized completely wrong but I continued thinking if I looked around I would get impressed by the clothes , the sales, something. It didn't happen. I noticed a lot of clothes were on racks according to price. I can actually say there was not one item of clothes I would have even bought which is unusual. Then I thought I read there was a second floor, looked around and it wasn't obvious and hearing my son in the background saying I didn't need anything I decided I had enough of this store.. I hightailed it out of there feeling disappointed by what I thought to expect. read more

The rumors you've heard are true...this Nordstrom Rack is a disappointment. It is clean and well organized, I'll give them that. The selection of brands however is dismal. The biggest selection they had was some huge rack of oversized poncho sweaters. When did I miss the memo on that fashion trend??? I will say that they did have a nice selection of designer shoes though I didn't end up buying anything. read more

I'm not really sure what I was expecting but it wasn't exactly this. Maybe I'm being way too harsh because I had hyped this up so much for myself, but this NR was a bit lackluster for me. I Love Nordstrom rack- so much so I'm usually looking for the nearest one if I happen to be in a city that is lucky enough to host one. However, now that it's finally arrived it flopped for me. When I come here I hone in on the handbags, shoes and dresses with the latter being the most important. I perused the handbags and shoes- the selection was decent but I wasn't really feeling the bright orange Tory's. I think I went through each rack of dresses and didn't find a single thing I would consider buying. Not one! I mean I've been feeling a bit under the weather recently... but not that sick. Needless to say I walked out empty handed, which is good for my wallet I guess. Hopefully as time goes on their selection improves... Only time will tell. read more

Most of the staff that work here are horrible, miserable individuals who cannot say hello. On more than one occasion my returns were screwed up because they were too lazy to verify the price on the receipt with the price on the item. When I asked what price the item was being refunded, I was met with a stare and silence. When I explained why I asked that question, the stare and silence continued. Same old same old...the stuff in this store is not what you would find in the regular Nordstrom's....this is their "outlet" merchandise which actually has higher margins that the stuff in the real store. This Rack is a major disappoint.. It's northing more than a bunch of JUNK that they couldn't sell in other States.. I've been to the Rack in California! They actually sell designer clothes that don't look worn stale or outdated. This store will never make it in Albany. I went a total of three times since their grand opening which I was invited to and I have to say YUCK. Have never found anything I would buy. Thank goodness I am able to shop Nordstrom on line along with the actual Nordstrom Store and Rack while in California.. This store can't even compare to Marshalls. It's terrible. My prediction is: This Junk shop which looks like a consignment shop will soon shut it's doors! read more
