A huge shoutout to Festevents for the many ways in which they enrich out community. Attending festivals throughout our city is such a gift. My favorite festival is Bayou Bon Vivant, but I will will admit that the wine festivals, and musical features are great. I do wish there were more bike racks throughout the area of Towne Point Park, preferably near where police officers are stationed. I much prefer to ride my bike to the festivals in lieu of Uber or driving. read more

2010 marks the 34th annual Harborfest in Norfolk, VA. Every year the Waterside Drive in downtown Norfolk is shut down for this event. It reminds me of the Taste of Chicago in that there is a long strip of food vendors by the water with music playing on the field and a ton of people walking around. Harborfest has over 50 food and beverage options and serve food such as fresh crab cakes, mouth watering barbecue, hand breaded shrimp, buttery roasted corn, fresh cut french fries, kabobs, funnel cakes, ice cream, smoked, savory turkey legs plus all your other favorite festival foods. They also have wine tastings here for those that love wine. The live music on the lawn was something I really enjoyed. You can lie down or sit down on the lawn and just relax while you are eating your food and enjoying the music. A great family event! There is some parking in the area. I would definitely recommend taking public transit or carpooling. There are a ton of police in the area to monitor the event so I definitely felt safe. At 9:30pm on Saturday they have fireworks for everyone to enjoy! read more

This was SO FUN! They have a bunch of ship tours, fair style food and one or two food trucks, maybe like 2 or 3 art vendors and then just fun little things to do like, 5 hour energy had a little tent set up where you can play games. There were ping pong tables set up. Its just nice to go with friends, lay on the lawn, listen to the music, drink, maybe take a tour or two of the ships (We didnt do this because my sister cant stand waiting in lines and it is pretty crowded) and eat some junky food. There was a big shaded area that had some side music and drinks were served there. I think it was called "The Boathouse"? We didnt stay for all the festivities. It was my first time so I just wanted to check it out but I will be going again next year to check out the boats! I hear the fireworks are fantastic but we didnt stay for those :( Cant wait to go back next year!! read more

Wow, been living in this area for three years and never been until now. There are rows of food vendors, ranged from creo to latin food. Also lots of local breweries showing off there delicious beers. We also got a chance to see a Nathans Hot Dogs eating contest qualifier which was AWESOME! Definitely going back next year, lots of fun, food and good people. Tip show up eary, parking gets full, if you don't mind to walk an extra two minutes park at the mall. Just beware it's about $1 every two hours or so. read more

Festevents is stepping their game up for harborfest with the variety of vendors, activities and food available. Other than the normal stuff the things I enjoyed that stood out to me were: -Cabana areas with seating, hammocks and fans to rest. - Lots of adult beverage stands to make your own drink, grab a beer or wine taste. - Majority of food vendors had sample plates to show what you get when you order, very helpful for indecisive people. I do feel that there were less ships this year which causes long lines that makes the event less enjoyable. read more

Harborfest falls on my birthday weekend every year. I've been coming to this event ever since I was a kid and I have some awesome memories arriving to the festival on my Uncle's boat with my relatives. We've always had a great time here. I thoroughly enjoy watching all of the boats and ships on the Elizabeth River and visiting various tall ships, tug boats, yachts, speed boats, and more along the pier. I thoroughly enjoy watching the tug boat competition and how all of the participants show off and do their thing. It's a lot of fun. The live music is exhilarating, the food vendors are plentiful, the street entertainment is exciting, and it is always a blast to run into local news celebs at their event tents. It seems like every year, it just gets better and better. I had a BLAST here today! read more

$5 to park in the parking garage a few blocks down from the park. The festival is free and there are a ton of food trucks providing almost whatever you could want. We came to the festival to see Robert Randolph and the Family Band, his concert was amazing. I've been going to Norfolk Harborfest as long as I can remember! The live events continue to impress! I do miss the cornhole tournament being there, however. I would like the Bloody Mary Beauty Contest to come back as well! Rick Springfield was a hit and I loved the bands in under the tent. Harborfest is one of the best festivals that Hampton Roads has to offer. It takes place in Downtown Norfolk annually, usually around the first weekend in June. There is always tons of people, food, beer, gifts, entertainment, and activities to keep you busy for the whole weekend. There is usually live music on all three of the nights. Also there are beer stands and food stands pretty much all over the place. Harborfest takes place right on the water so it's just a very scenic place for a festival (complete with river-breeze). Great event!!! We were there on Friday and 4 or 5 of the tall ships have open houses from 2-6pm. The kids loved to be on the ships and checkout all the corners. There are people explaining what happens when you are operating a sailboat like that, but it means nothing to me. Just have not become a boater yet. The beach area has hammocks and sand for kids to play, so nice and relaxing, feels to me it brought me to a different world, completely drifted off for quite sometime. The music and activities are nice and there were a very nice crowd in the evening with the breeze and everything was good. Just wish the waterside would be rebuilt soon! read more

So I really enjoy the events that are put on by this company... HOWEVER... the try to rip the residents of the area off every year. I certainly do not enjoy that the fee has been increasing by $5 and on top of it... $35 for tickets if you by in advance and $40 same day.. well that is crap too. Sure I'll go on and buy my tickets early to find out I save only .90 after all is said and done. $79.10 to buy in advance or $80 same day. Convenience fees. Come on. Super disappointed in the way festevents does their business. read more

Even if you don't have a boat, Harbor Fest is still a pretty fun event. This annual event has Town Point park packed with locals and visitors enjoying the scenery, the boats in the harbor, live entertainment, music food and beer. Mostly for the older and more affluent crowd, Harbor Fest is relaxing and fun as people camp out on their boats in the harbor and stay stocked with plenty of food and drinks to supplement what's available for purchase on land. Lasting the entire weekend, Harbor Fest is a chance to spend the day on the water and to wish you had a boat if you're not already luck enough to own one. read more

I can remember performing at Harborfest as a kid, back when I was a little twig of a ballet dancer. I guess they had mini shows put on by local performing groups and ours was one of them. We did a scene from the ballet Coppelia on a little stage set up behind Waterside. The best part? We got to hang out at the festival afterward, strolling around in our gaudy stage makeup and eating funnel cakes and fresh squeezed lemonade as the sail boats paraded by in the Elizabeth River. Harborfest has changed a lot in the last 20 or 30 years, but in many ways it has stayed the same. The recent overhaul of Town Point Park has made a noticeable difference in all of the festivals that are held there, allowing for better crowd flow and ease of access to vendors and attractions. Harborfest actually premiered the redo in 2009 and, as the biggest and baddest Town Point festival, it proved a success. Of course there are new vendors and attractions. This year there were these wild characters, like living puppets or something from the Broadway production of the Lion King walking around. But the essence of Harborfest remains a celebration of Norfolk's waterfront culture. They call it the area's "biggest and oldest dock party" and indeed it is. This year I was there on a Friday, which was not insanely crowded so that was also nice. There are always a couple of big name music acts and the fireworks are legendary. read more

It was so much fun and the kids events were all free. My 4 year old loved Pirate School that was put on by the Moody's Crew. However, the face painting line was really long, but for free the woman who did the face painting was AMAZING! we got compliments all the way back to our car after we left. read more

I was very disappointed when I called to purchase tickets to the 4th of July Event and the person who answered the call "April" was very rude and interrupted me with information about another event that is going on this weekend. I explained to her that I wasn't calling about that event and she interrupted me again with excuses for her poor customer service. When I was able to get a word in to explain I was inquiring about 4th of July she offered no information so needless to say I ended to call. I guess Mt. Trashmore will be our destination this year. Very disappointed but will not give my hard earned money to a company or shall I say person who wont even take 30 seconds to listen to my request! read more

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you guys don't allow pets....well mine I should say. I was at harborfest Thursday and Friday night and seen dozens of dogs so I thought I could bring my well behaved small dog with me just to get out of the house and enjoy the weather to walk all the way there and well into townpoint for them to tell me I'm not allowed to have my dog even though I walked past 3 other ones before they told me I wasn't allowed to have mine. If you're going to make it a rule not to allow pets you should make it a point to post signs at every entrance and on posters that advertise harborfest because I didn't see anything saying I couldn't. I am very disappointed in this and want to let fellow pet lovers know that they are not allowed to bring animals there so they don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Very disappointing VIP experience at the Bayou Boogaloo and would not recommend this to ANYONE! Even more disappointing than paying $75 for basically 3 beers and a plate of catfish is the rude customer service woman I spoke to was very condescending and despite assuring me I'd get a call, NO ONE will return a call to discuss why a VIP stated for Saturday meant in fact Saturday beginning at 6 pm. DO NOT PURCHASE VIP to a Festevents event! Much much cheaper to pay regular price and buy food and drinks. Unfortunately, their poor customer service means I have to tell my tale via social media. read more
