SLUM LORDS! This is just our personal experience.. But I would NOT move in here. This complex was sold by the original owner to a company called PowerPlay Partners or Good Carbon Co...My boyfriend (who works overnights and is a volunteer fireman with grand island) and I had rented out Apartment 105, and we would have never imagined it would end like this. We lived here for a total of a little over a year. We wanted this specific apartment because it had a washer and dryer in unit, so we also paid more..It was very dirty when we first moved in, the drafts from the windows were horrible. Mix matched appliances (if they work) mix matched lighting and door fixtures. Everything is repainted white. Half the outlets do not work. Or are scary loose. And the hallways between the apartments are disgusting. Ours smelled and we had to replace light bulbs often because maintence doesn't come around to check the building. Our upstairs neighbors were really the breaking point for us. They were EXTREMELY loud. VERY inconsiderate. They have two kids (ages 4 and 14 at the time). Also I will add the parents didn't work, they literally never leaved. Which would of been fine if they were more normal...They smoked a lot by the back door where everyone would come in and out. Cigarette butts would be littered all over... In addition, our apartments shared a hot water tank. So 6 people were sharing one tank. Showering was an absolute nightmare. But the constant running and jumping from the 4 year old was unbearable at times. It would be all day, everyday, since they wouldn't take her anywhere. They were always locked in there apartment. We could hear everything, every fight and tantrum... My boyfriend couldn't get any sleep during the day. I couldn't work from home if I had to. It's rediculous I would even have to complain about that to the landlord. On top of all that, the maintence on the place is not sufficient. Our fridge went, it took them a week to get us something new. We lost everything in our fridge and freezer and there was very minimal communication between maintenance during that time. Not only that, but our dishwasher also went, we were without that for OVER A MONTH, again with minimal communication. Our heat went at one point, and the ac pipes in the hallway were leaking all summer long. We had to try to fix it ourselves.. Also, I'm not over exaggerating, they would come to cut the grass once a month. They totally neglected the gardens. We had to cut all the dead plants ourselves. Our balcony leaked whenever it rained, because upstairs never cared to report the giant rotted out hole. And because the grass would be so high and clog up the drains, everything floods, including just our patio, and in the whole front of the building. Can't use the sidewalks either when it's flooded..All in all, I can't even count how many maintence requests we had to put in while we lived there, and then call about repeatedly, because we wouldn't hear back from anyone. YURI , SUZANNE , JACK , and the rest of the guys who run this place are only stealing everyone's money every month. They seem nice at first but they obviously don't care about this property. It looks very unprofessional that we had to move in the end because the apartment was unhabitable. Whatever the excuse was, all we wanted was some peace and quiet when we were home...They need to do something before they lose more pissed off tenants. The apartments look decent in pictures but don't be fooled! And not every apartment is the same...But out of the 20 apartments there, I feel like we specifically couldn't catch a break and enough is enough! Let this review speak for itself because they have had more and more empty apartments since last summer. I'm ending my rant. What a shame! We moved somewh ere else on the Island that is much nicer, upgraded, and where the management actually CARES ABOUT IT'S TENANTS WHO WORK HARD TO PAY THEIR RENT AND BILLS! read more
