BUYER BEWARE: After less than 6 months of having these counters installed they have developed a crack on the seam. I have been trying to get Tom to look at this crack and repair it for MONTHS with no progress, just excuses and ignoring my texts/calls. The process of even getting these counters installed was a nightmare. Numerous missed appointments, employees complaining about his temper on the job directly to me. He even had to borrow some of MY tools to get the job completed. I will be pursuing my money back as I would expect a job that cost me thousands of dollars to last more than a handful of months. Spend your money on the real thing and a reputable vendor. The owner has since got back once I left a review on google saying it's all my fault for the crack and I must be slamming things... this is false. Good experience overall. We had the expectation to remove the sinks and appliances prior to commencement. We also had to remove the old countertop in our bathroom as we decided to switch from an old drop-in to an undermount. They built a new one to spec and cut a hole based upon the new sink. We had about 55-60 square feet of total counterspace to be done. Day 1 was primer and application of the Concrete. We have 2 cats that we sent on vacation to ensure no issues with the curing process. Day 2 was paint, which we were present for to get it going. Note: if you're going with a dark color, it will darken up once Epoxy hits it. We were curious as to whether or not it'd be a chalkboard color, but it turned out great (see the photos). Rich communicated timely with his plans and was efficient with his work. There was a small issue upstairs where the countertop shrunk up in the corner and left a gap. Rich made it right without prompt and built backsplashes to match on the sides. We decided to do the same for our kitchen instead of installing a full glass backsplash (they are being built currently). My recommendation is to do the siderails, if you have them, unless you have a firm idea of something else that you want. Overall, for the price point I'd recommend them. This was a tryout for our next place, and they came out 2 MONTH UPDATE: Still waiting on the kitchen pieces to be finished, almost 2 months post-job completion. Measurements were sent on 4/3/18, and I was told that they were being done the week of April 30th. Reduction in rating is solely based upon lack of response and putting priority into getting new quotes over finishing existing projects for cWe were hoping that this would have gone a bit smoother, as we wanted to bring them in again on our next house, but it seems they are growing too quick for their own good. Thomas, it is in your hands to make this happen. I will gladly update this again once the project is complete. 2ND UPDATE: Rich delivered the final 2 pieces today and apologized for the delay. He did us a solid and didn't charge for them. He noted some of the internal changes that were made to help with avoiding issues in the future. Overall, I'd recommend these guys as long as they keep the focus on quality and not quantity. It isn't easy work, and it is easy to burn the candle at both ends. The counters still look great, and required a little cleanup and touchup paint on the walls. They do scratch rather easy, and I don't buy the claim that they are 500 degree heat resistant (coffee mugs leave visible rings). read more

Tom open law suits just that I know of based on communication I have had with other victims of his criminal behavior. And have been reached out by two more in the past 3 days! He owes over $18,000 in lost law suits. HAS NOT PAID A DIME to any of us. This should be enough information to spread the word about his terribly UNETHICAL business. Our judge ordered he pay us over $3,000.00 back and was due by May 11, he has not paid a dime. Beware! Run! Did a terrible job on my countertop. Thomas said my "countertop is crap" after he did the job. There were coffee rings the day after countertop dried (said due to new epoxy), large haze (said due to too hot or too cold), drips on sides (said due to quality of previous countertop). Overall really bad experience. Pulled teeth to get a redo date. Posted pitcures of the damages. Bad communication. Lies. Unprofessional. He's really good at being a salesman. Took him to small claims, he didn't show up. One of 4 individuals suing him for bad product. Even after taking him to court he still won't refund money. To Your reply, you were there 2 days, why would we tell you to just go over the countertop if you say they can't be done? That doesn't make sense. You looked at the counter said was no problem. You said we didn't have to be there for the job. The color was fine. It's the epoxy! Remember the new epoxy you used. We were second to complain about it? You are so busy getting new clients instead of fixing the first ones. Just like another review on here. There was no communication at all. I have texts to prove. DON'T LIE. Karma man will get you. You said 200 to build new not 300. I got estimates from those that can go right over it. I had them fixed by another company cheaper. They went right over it. You are a pathologic liar! You continue to lie. There are other customers who have sued you. How do you sleep at night? I'm not arguing with you. The contract speaks for itself. These are just the facts. BUYER BEWARE! Let me start by saying I have never posted a review, but I need to try to let as many people know about my bad experiences. I hired BTPoxcrete in July of 2018 to do my countertops in September 2018. When the owner Thomas Winarske came to my home he brought a sample of counter with him. After talking a few minutes he took this sample and started smashing it with a hammer! I was amazed that it didn't even make even a scratch! He went on how nothing will make a mark or scratch ect. Well that was it I was signed up! I started talking to his "designer" (never told me he was not doing the job) for about a week. She was very knowledgeable so I was fine. Two days before the job was to be completed she called me and told me she was not working with him any longer due to ethical reasons. As soon as I hung up with her another "designer " called me to let me know he was going to do the job. Not feeling real easy, just decided to move forward since Tom had a good portion of my money. Well wrong decision!! They came in and did the job. Was here for 3 days. Job looked nice. This designer told us to not use the counters for 7 days. This was not a problem because we had other work being done. Two weeks later we started just lightly using the counter tops (cups of coffee ect). Rings were forming everywhere. After getting really upset called the designer and Tom. They were both in my home three different times trying to fix the problem. Tom assured me hw will do what ever is needed even if it is doing the job over again. My husband told Tom we did not want the same designer!!! Well we repeatedly tried to get them back (REMEMBER NOW HE HAS ALL OUR MONEY). He did not call us back. Finally got a date (2.5 weeks till thanksgiving). Well that did not happen because he didn't remember the was going to do the job over and that did not work. After several unpleasant phone calls said he would be here the following week. HE NEVER SHOWED OR CALLED. he sent the very same designer that was here the first time. So 4 days later the job was finished again looking nice. The designer told us to not use 6-7 days which took us right to . I was very upset but Did Not use them. Well the day of thanksgiving had a house full of people and .... scratches and rings. Tom was a no call no show to our estimate appointment. We called multiple times trying to figure out where he was or what was going on with no answer. I gave it an additional day before leaving a review in case there was some sort of emergency, but still have received no communication. Very unprofessional. If you do not want additional business you should be upfront about that instead of not showing up to an estimate that people made special arrangements with their paying jobs to be present for. I left this review on google and he responded to the review - I find it incredibly bizarre they can respond to a review but not make a phone call to a customer after missing an appointment. read more

On 06/07/2018 I wrote an outstanding review for BTPoxycrete and my experience with them, and sadly, have to retract my outstanding review. A month after my work was done I was doing a serious clean in my kitchen and scrubbing behind my sink when I noticed a very small "split" behind the sink in the epoxy. It was nothing big or serious, but an eyesore after spending thousands of dollars to get my countertops done. I took photos and sent a text to Jeff, one of the workers that did my countertop. He suggested I just buy some clear caulk and go over the spot with it... I was shocked at the response I had gotten, and confused as to how caulk would fix the problem. I escalated my issue to Tom, who was very responsive initially and told me he would make sure Jeff got out ASAP to look at and fix the issue and said from the looks of the picture, it appeared to be a simple fix. Coordinating with Jeff turned into a disaster, he had excuse after excuse as to why he couldn't get out to look at my countertop and fix the issue, but continued to reiterate to me that "its a simple fix." I am a full time worker and had given several days I would be available / evenings I would be available / days my husband worked from home, and still there was no coordination. I told Jeff I would be leaving for vacation on Saturday August 18, and told him I really wanted the issue fixed before I left for vacation (mind you at this point we were communicating for over 1 month on the issue), and he said he should be able to get out Friday morning before I left for vacation to get everything fixed. Friday, August 17th, rolled around and sure enough, I never heard from him. I cant express my anger when I saw his wife was calling me on Saturday August 18th, when I made it clear I would be on vacation, and left me a 3 1/2 minute voicemail to apologize that Jeff had not gotten out to fix the issue, but then had the nerve to try and get a job from me and asked me to have my mother who had a slight interest get in touch with them to arrange something on the side. Jeff, then had the nerve to send my mother a facebook message to try and get a job as well. How two people could try and book a job off of me, but not fix a little issue blows my mind. I returned from vacation at the end of August, and reached out to Tom and told him I no longer wanted to deal with Jeff and did not want him stepping foot in my house and I wanted the owner of the business, Tom, to do his job as a businessman and fix the issue. There were a few other hiccups as well while waiting for Tom to get out to fix the job, facebook comments from Lori, Jeff's wife - who is not even apart of the company on my facebook page, then facebook messages. It was a ridiculous conversation with her, with ridiculous accusations, all while she is not apart of the company. Tom finally came out to fix the issue - I made him aware of my conversations with Lori, the voicemail I had received from her, and made it very clear to him, she will ruin business for him... Sadly, his lack of business skills will do the same. After he "fixed" the issue, the next day, it looked the exact same. I waited a few days to let everything dry and settle, but no, there was no change. I reached out to him and advised him of this, he asked I call him the next day to set something up. I called him the next day, a Friday, and he said he didn't know when, but he would get out in a few days to fix the issue. A week and a half went by, I had to comment on a BTPOXYCRETE advertisement on facebook stating "Hey Tom, still waiting for a call back from you to arrange getting out to my house" to get a response. He did call me shortly after and advise he would try to fix the issue again, but if it didn't take, and if it needed a new layer of Epoxy, it would not be covered. He did get out two days later, and corrected the issue. I did refer people to him, and he actually booked a job off one of my referrals- and I have yet to get my promised $100.00 referral fee. He told me he had to finish the job before the money would be sent, and well, it was finished 2 weeks ago. My friend that I referred had an awful time dealing with Tom directly and his lack of professionalism as well. Luckily, Richie did a great job on her countertops. There are other people out there that do this, and I'm sure other people can run a business. I hope people read ALL reviews before they work with BTPOXYCRETE, I wish I had. Tom, I hope to see that $100.00 soon, considering you made thousands off of my word of mouth. read more
