I dropped off the truck and I left it for the oil change and check over the car. I get a call in about an hour your car is done. Some recommendations but nothing they can do today. Ok. I go to pick it up. They recommends, filters.... vague but ok, tires an alignment; and wipers. How long before I need tires, he wasn't sure he had to go look. The mechanic made the note. Ok but how about share that note with me. Hundred miles, thousand miles, thousands of miles, which is it? I asked what about coolant. The vehicle is 11 yrs old, bought it used. They said they just topped it off. Didn't really look at it. Ok how about the diff fluid, they need to take the plug out to check it. Ok... did you drive it, is it making noise? I wanted them to double check me not sure I'm hearing diff noise or tire noise. No they didn't drive it. Ok how's the trans fluid. They didn't check it. Then I asked did you grease the fittings on the drive shaft or joints, No again. Even though my receipt says grease as one of the parts. They had an opportunity today to upsell me on a bunch of things if my truck needed it, but they didn't even bother to check the truck throughly. I feel like I just went to a Jiffy Lube, no offense to Jiffy Lube bc they actually pull my filters and show me which ones they're trying to sell me. We have used them before and they were good. I wonder what else has been missed on my other car that we bring there. Really disappointed in Carmines. It's hard to find people to do a good job these days or who want to work. This was my experience.

I've been meaning to find a new mechanic and eventually did, and am glad that I made the move. What really was the straw that broke the camels back was that on my last visit they said my rotors were low and recommended a replacement (that was not cheap). I was actually pretty surprised by this as I had replaced my rotors (with them) earlier and I expected to get more miles out of them. So either: 1. they sold me poor quality rotors 2. I'm tracking my car and being aggressive on the brakes (nope...its a minivan) 3. I don't actually need rotors Turns out it was #3... I actually got the car up on jack stands after bringing it home, took off the wheels and measured the rotors with a pair of calipers. Plenty of life left.

I brought the car in and though it is difficult to find parts for such an old car I was assured that it could be repaired. After 2 - 3 months I was told the car was ready. When I picked it up the paint did not match and a part where the fender meets the front bumper was not completed. I told Manny about this and was told that they would have to find a part and that it might take some time. I asked that the car be finished correctly. In October I was told the car was done. When I picked it up it was obvious that it had not been touched. The paint still did not match, and the fender ding was not repaired. Manny was out, ill at that time, so I did not see him and, frankly, after 5 months, was done. The repairs were not completed to my satisfaction but, I guess, that is my loss. If the need arises, I will not be returning to Vette 22 for help.

I cannot begin to explain how good the car looks now, both inside and out. It looks just like it did when I drove it off the showroom floor 4 years ago. This man has exceeded my expectations once again. The engine looks like this car has not seen a highway ever, even though it has 67k miles on it. Pictures don't do it any justice, this is something you have to see to believe. If you're tired of trying to get all those little crumbs and pieces of God-knows-what from your cup holders, you need to go to the Waxman.
